Exactly. I genuinely love the game too, but I'm allowed to be unhappy with how some quests are bugged to where you can't complete them without either logging off then re-logging, or needing a GM to intervene to fix it. The ARR quest The Gifted is infamous for this (which never got fixed by the way --- an fc member of mine had this happen to him a few days ago).

I seriously hate how condescending some of the people in here are. I'm sick of them wrongfully assuming that they're the only ones who love and enjoy the game and I'm sick of them wrongfully assuming that those of us who have valid criticisms about it are haters when that's rarely the case, if ever. I'm going to be unhappy with the things that are broken esp when said broken things affect the people I care about. Good on those of you who can be blissfully ignorant of such, but I can't. Ignorance isn't the answer to everything, nor does it solve things.

It's BECAUSE of my love for FFXIV that I want the best for it. People don't take that into consideration, and I'm sick of it!

Please do show me a recent post of me saying I blocked Renalt, I unblocked him a while time ago, unlike him and Zephyr I dont need to pretend to block people.

The day the blocking system actually works as a blocking system, aka not showing the person at all, nor their posts, nor their threads, then I will block ,until then there is no point to block anybody, you will literally see their posts and threads anyway.

Honestly, I think Stormpeaks has the right of it here. If you no longer wish to interact with someone, normally you'd block and ignore them. Randomly bringing them up by name kind of works against your goal here. It is rather odd to bring someone up by name when you want to ignore them.

Thank you, it's an idea that really goes over their heads, they have to keep mentioning me and mentioning how I am blocked (for some reason, I guess it's a flex to block people ?)

It's very weird really but to each their own

Funniest thing is that they will tell me that I want them to respond and that I want engagement, yet they are the ones bringing my name up or responding directly to me or at least about me, it's very counter productive really

Sure, but she wasn't brought up at random. Not like out of the blue someone just started talking about Stormpeaks. She's regularly engaged in some sort of argument with someone at nearly all times. You're entirely correct. There are just people so salty, they can't fathom that other people aren't, and they want to convert other people to their way of thinking, by hook or by crook. It's like the saying, "Misery loves company", except when the company isn't miserable with them, they try to make people miserable.

Often people doing that try to hide behind "I'm just offering constructive criticism/critique of the game" and "The forum isn't just for positive posts/feedback, how can it ever get better??", but then they attack any one who says anything remotely positive about it, as if the forum was ONLY for negative posts/feedback. Everyone not on board the negativity train gets dogpiled, even if they have critiques themselves, and anyone who dares post positivity gets their thread attacked and derailed, as well as their personal character and motivations questioned and impugned.

I'm not sure why the moderators allow it, since some of it is pretty nasty and goes well beyond "disagreement" and is likely driving people new to the forums away (some have said as much), especially when so many people seemed to come by here while the Reddit was down (on the Reddit, now that it's up, they're openly mocking this place for its toxic negativity).

Clearly, as you say, most players seem to like the game. Some who can't stand it also can't stand others being happy with it. And before any post in reply to this saying "We're just critiquing the game!"; as I said before, if you were "just critiquing the game", you wouldn't be so dead set on shutting down any positive threads or posts and adding positive posters. Those aren't critiques, those are trying to ensure you have an echo chamber.

Neither am I, since it appears that Titanmen has just started using more alts. Why they dont start using MAC bans is beyond me. We need tighter moderation and some people need an extended forum vacation.

I think it would solve both your issues.

What toxic postivity is? Cult-like spamming of "EW was great!" in a discussion thread. Being sheepingly positive. You can also see this in the game. Say anything beside "o/" or "gg" and you risk getting kicked out of a group. I once dared to complain about someone spamming chat with their macro - kicked. Hiding your true feelings and possible useful comments because only positivity is allowed is toxic. Smile and hide it inside. Welcome to the new world. You don't need to be happy but you have to look like it.


Of course there is stuff to be happy about. Even in EW. A lot of people like the story. Problem is they played through it when EW released. Lately there is a lot of waiting between content and features like Island Sanctuary and Criterion & Variant Dungeons or the new Deep Dungeon, all of which most seem to dislike. A big story cliffhanger for 7.0 in 6.5 could spawn quite a few positive topics on the forums.

Are some of the lore discussions not positive? Or is it only positive if it praises the game in every sentence? When is it negative? If it doesn't do that?

This is my only alt account, so I'm not sure what you're on about, also the only thing Eder did for me is search his recent posts in which he keeps mentioning me, I really dont care if he's a troll, he provided me evidence of what I mentioned, that's all I care about, if it was falsified that'd be a different thing, however it isnt. Also for clarification, the only reason why I use this account as well is because of the daily posts limit, this isnt 2010, there is no need for a post limit, and since there is, and I pay another subscription, I have the right to post on both.

Do you really think I asked Eder to provide me anything ? I dont know him, nor do I care about what he does, in this case though he helped me by providing me evidence to what I mentioned, so /shrug

As for blocking, sure, you give me a decent blocking system that doesnt show all of their quote messages, their posts and threads, and then I'll block him.

Until then, if I am mentioned I will respond to it, since obviously they are obsessed and cant get my name out of their heads.
