SE.. You have tailed races, you know?

I personally like the moonward sets hiding the tail.

I would fanta immediately if i could remove a tail from Au Ra or Miqo'te due to how it clips with 99% of gear in the game.

I'm still mourning my one-gender race that actually had a pretty cute way of replenishing itself.

Also capes are cool, I would rather have world with tank capes than one without.
I would like all helmets to have a solution for elezen ears, but I know that is not going to happens so I settled on just going whatever with it.

I am thankful I am allowed to wear helmets atleast.

If the capes had the physic like the cape on old odin test armor then i would not hate them as much as i do now, but most capes ingame are stiffer than a dry fish so it would be nice to be able to toggle the cape on or off so it would not clip my tail

While I am of the opinion that tailed races should have more attention paid to them, I also think that highlanders should receive eyebrows. We should all come together and ask for higher quality from SE.

Imagine if people said the same about you whenever you guys ask for more head gear. How does it feel making the devs not even bother giving you hats because "ears might clip"? As a Hrothgar who only marginally can wear a bit more than you can, I have an educated guess.

All the talk on au ra and miqo'te, but people might forget that hrothgar also have this issue, and it will be more of a problem when female hrothgar are added.

What I love the most is when we have a problem, voice it, are told to shut up, and then SE does something to those other races and they pikachu-face like they didn't see it coming.

Yeah, they had stopped largely accommodating racial features, including tail accommodation - which literally usually amounts to a bow or something to hide any clipping (apparently, doing that is too much), but there weren't so many capes until this expansion. Don't get me wrong, capes can look good. For example, the sheer cape on the tank chest in Aglaia. It is very nice, and since it is split it works for tailed races (although au ra tails, at least, clip through the metal, but I digress). The problem is capes largely DON'T look good in this game, and are literally, like, glued to your butt. Frankly, they look terrible even if you play a race without a tail.

Bro we can't have shit anymore. Look at the ARR gearsets; the tailed races have dedicated holes in the back for the tail to loop through. Races with long ears like elezen and miqo'te had dedicated spaces in their helmets for their ears to specifically go. Gear was outfitted with the different races in mind. I think whoever cared enough to do that must've left the company and forgot to tell his/her coworkers how to do that sort of thing, because going forward that kind of gear just stopped being a thing, and now we get races that seem unfinished. It's okay though. Because the new meta is, instead of addressing the issue... just design weird workarounds! Hats clipping poorly on some races and unwearable on others? Just give the players tiaras and visors instead of full helmets. Hairstyles clipping and making your art team feel great shame? Just stop giving people long hair options.

I don't think SE appreciates just how low player expectations are at the moment. Most of us would be fine with clipping and would even just work around it ourselves, so long as we had the option to do that. I don't care if a hairstyle clips. If the hairstyle looks nice enough, I'll reorganize my glam plates around it. And I can't speak for all viera, but the ones I know at least have all said that they don't really care if their ears poke through their hat as long as they can just wear the damn hat.

That's because, save for stuff that's heavily animated, this game tends to do models out of cardboard. Which, I get, the game is pretty but still has to be playable (or we end up with the 1000 polygon vase case from 1.0 again). Meaning capes will naturally appear like they're made of plastic. They can move, but it's not like proper fabric, and just dangles a little while still hard-stuck to you. Which, again, makes sense given the nature of the game.

Are the Au Ra tails having issues across every option? Or is it just happening in those really thick or overly-spiky options?

On the races thing... I know you do. It's just... eh. I'm used to it. I just rather not always have to be the one nag going into threads and be like "Remember Hrothgars exist" to make people realize "Oh sh** yeah you guys have this problem too!". More often than not, Viera-made threads are a coin-flip on whether they mention us or not. And Miqo'te or Au Ra-made threads tend to only reference eachother, but almost never any other race. Of course though, this makes sense because naturally those players aren't the sort of players that would go for races like Hrothgar or Roegadyn. But it doesn't hurt to ask. I know we're rare, but we're not that rare.

And I feel like part of the reason the devs are so surprised about Hrothgar feedback not matching what they feel is because on top of us being a quiet race, other races typically leave us out of complaints that would naturally also include us. We have tails too, yet people assume that it's only a problem for Miqos or Au Ra. (feel free to disagree, naturally)

Though what I wrote was more so on people not realizing that they're on a similar boat :T
Like... Viera also get comments like "Don't play X race if you don't like the limitations".

TBH I had hope for this expansion on tails when I saw that the DRK AF actually had tail armor on it when doing the MSQ at launch. However the fending and maiming sets of the first tomestone gear set just erased tails in order to place the cape.

I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by this, it looks so tacky and honestly severely bothers me, when I first started the game as a miqote I had to use a fantasia due to the severe amount of tail clipping ;_;
