Wow sounds like you just had bad groups. You could do what I did and just started your own ls. I had a fantastic group of ppl. Took awhile to find em but when I did it all went smooth, everyone got what they needed first and we all helped each other get the drops we needed/wanted. Its not a bad system, there are just a few bad eggs. But if you take time to pay attn the bad eggs are in the minority
I agree too. I played FFXI for almost 8 years until they raised the caps to 75/80. I wasn't interested in playing after that. Besides FFXIV was coming out in a little over a month so I switched over.
Every LS i had be it for dynamis, or sea or sky was great. You must have joined all the garbage LS.

I'd much rather the totems be 100% drop rate. Possibly increase it to 20 totems for Ifrit weapon and 30 for Moogle weapon. Going 15-20 battles and getting nothing but Dark Matter every time is discouraging. >.>
The worst is getting duplicates thou. I have had all 7 weapons from Ifrit for a while, but I farm tapers in hopes of passing totems to my friends. I have a couple who have over 30 wins and yet to get a weapon. But guess what I got 3 weapons this last set of Ifrit runs. What a waste. PLEASE eliminate the duplicate weapon thing in the future. If it's not possible with the current client, PLEASE get rid of it for 2.0. Duplicate sucks!
Are you even opening the chest? This may be your problem.
I have not even won it 10 times and already have 2 ifrit weapons. I really dont get what your problem is. Its roughly 10% to earn a weapon anyway.
I think either you have very bad luck or your game is messed up. I think your not even opening the chest and your expecting the item to be in your pool when another player opens the chest.
THIS IS CALLED HAVING GOOD LUCK. How is it so hard to grasp that when random numbers are involved, your personal experience might not be the same as everyone else? You "don't get" what the problem is because you got lucky! Congratulations, but some people end up getting unlucky and go way too long without seeing anything for their efforts.
I don't think it's hard to grasp at all -- It seems that a lot of other factors aren't being taken into consideration as well since if you have full inventory for example nothing will go into it if the system drops things into your inventory automatically, not saying that's the case here but it is another factor to take into consideration.

Moogle weapons are 37 out of 45 kills, or 82% of all Moogle runs drop a weapon. This means any certain individuals chance of getting a weapon is 10.2%, which is nearly identical to Ifrits weapon drop rate.
5 /45 runs we did not receive a nut, nor a weapon.
Most weapons 1 run was 4.
Most nuts 1 run was 3 (happened 5 times).
I don't think its a bad system atm for LS. Maybe for PUG it becomes a bit harsh... but if I read that correct and its 1 Nut per group per run, then its going to be worse than it is currently perhaps even.

To Yoshida-san,
As the majority of the people in this thread (and numerous threads have stated), your current Primal Loot System is the WORST "feature" you've added to this game, bar none.
You're showing us so much promise for Final Fantasy XIV Version 2.0, you're trying to get us excited and tell us to wait, and then come up with a LAME, TERRIBLE EXCUSE for a Time Sink in making this current Primal Loot System (of Forcing the Untradeable Item into your Inventory).
Don't give us the lame excuse that "you're afraid of Ninja Looting" so that's why you gave us this system. Patch 1.18 and Dzemael Darkhold proved that there were NO PROBLEMS with having Unique Raid Gear drop into a Loot Pool so people could actually pass and give it to their friends and LS members in party.
Just admit that this is a Time Sink and allow *us* to decide HOW we want to spend our time.
You clearly didn't make enough content between patches so far, so you're giving us this terrible Loot System in the hopes of "stalling" us. But it's only frustrating the vast majority of the Players.
It's better to let Rewards drop into the Loot Pool (you have this functionality already and it worked just fine in Dzemael Darkhold), and let US decide how we want to spend our extra time inbetween patches waiting.
Forcing us with this system IS driving people away.
And as others have said, I sincerely hope the new Job Specific Equipment (JSE / AF (Artifact Armor)) "Quests" don't end up being something similar with, "Random Forced Drop in your Inventory" / Repeat for the next 3 months.
Don't undermine all the positive things you've done for this game and all the great promise that 2.0 shows with this crappy Loot System.
(On a side note, there are other ways to create Time Sinks to keep us busy between Patches right now... e.g., rebalance the Unique / Untradeable Gear and allow some sort of Materia Melding, etc., which would then drive people to actually replay your old content (since you can blow up Raid Gear by accident with Materia).)
This weekend just passed my server hit rock bottom. There was only enough people at any one time to make at most 2 Moogle party. While the majority of them did so I flat out refused to go.
I've never felt so good.
Managed to get 1000 hits on mining node. Several items to trade for seals. And a lot of crafting done.. Now that is progress not like this Moogle/Ifrit crap. I have something to show for it. All this in the same time I would have wasted another 30+ Moogle fights for a stack of dark matter.
Almost 200 likes and still no dev response.
The drop rate for totems are fine. I just think they need to put the weapons into the loot list so we can give them to other people like the totems. It will solve a lot of problems.
