At least with something like the Paragon's helm it's something they don't need a log of to give it back to you when they do add decent customer service. They can simply check whether you're entitled to it and if you have one already.

What about... since those are untradable, which means Not Tradable, you simply CAN'T sell those items, because those are Untradable? I mean, you still sell those for 1gil!
feel like bumping :D been to long and had to go back a page to find it, want a dev talk about htis issue, and not some copy paste stuff. Since i really do stand for fixing this issue.
THe moderators and GMs are probably on vacation right now until the 2nd of January, and if they don't respond in January about this issue, I imagine you're well justified in terminating your account because quite simply, such a horrible customer service is inexcusable in an MMO.
Screw the people that decided to change things from true, old-school Game Masters, to a "Customer Service Representative" (CSR) system....and yes, I'm looking at you, Sony Online Entertainment. Burn in hell.
I'm sorry you lost a virtual item that technically is not legally bound to you, and expect a game thats developed in japan to handle your concern seriously.
I have sympathy for you, and i think the game is stupid for letting you sell rare items for insignificant amounts of gil, but I don't think not helping you with the issue is any fault on the developers part.
I feel like they're mocking me lol..

Can we please get this with achievement rewards too?
BUMP! since I beleave they back today!
Love this game, planning to keep playing until 2.0 - don't play WoW at all and never liked it, but! I found this on Reddit and I think it might be good for SE to see how their competition handles these situations so here you go.

that was entertaining...but that GM has WAY to much free time ;p
Sucks for you dude, don't sell it next time ^.^
Bumping this up. It's time we got some real customer service. Billing has started and there's no excuse for the lack of service we have now.
In terms of Item restoration services, most popular P2P MMOs have this. SE, if you're trying to compete with these games you may want to take a page from their books. Take a look at how they handle circumstances like these:
WoW
RIFT
SWTOR
Hell, even FFXI has an acceptable item restoration service.
Kerplah? ... I'm gonna have to steal that.
I'm sorry it's taken so long for us to get a response for you on this topic and I agree it is extremely frustrating to accidentally NPC/drop something you didn't intend to. We were able to discuss the issue with Yoshida and he said that they will be looking into a method to easily reacquire achievement/quest reward items from NPCs and the like (this is also in addition to the previously discussed "buy back" feature).
Also we asked the UI team about making it more difficult to accidentally sell/drop Unique/Untradeable items (maybe with specific confirmation windows or other methods) and they said that they're currently looking into that as well.
Grats Meowie!
Great to hear after all our bump, hope they get somethign put in game ASAP.
I imagine it will be the same system as FFXI Quest end rings. Obtainable after a certain period of time week or so.

As announced on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forums, we have identified an issue wherein materia attached to a player’s equipment may get lost when the server goes down for maintenance work. If you notice that your materia is missing after the conclusion of this maintenance, please place a GM call. A GM will conduct an investigation and provide maximum support to restore your materia. You can avoid running into this issue by equipping the item which the materia is attached to or storing it on a retainer before the maintenance starts.
Quote from the maintenance message, it seem to me that.. they can actually restore item after all... but only gonna do it if it is by their own mistake.
Necro a dead thread... to tell them there is still no chance?
^
Nope, I do this to show that their excuse saying "they don't have ability to return lost item is just a lie". They could do it, and it is common sense that many people believe the same in this thread, but then support team/dev denied and said that they are inability to do so a few pages back.
edit:
I just notice tags in this thread.. and I lol.
"Enhances Ballad" is better than PIE for BRD I think. Sorry for your loss, Gryswynd. That really sucks ; ;
I was half expecting them to implement it in this patch, but in the back of my mind I knew I was being overly optimistic.

Ok. Now don't toss out all the gear for the jobs you don't use to save inventory space and then ask for it back later. It's cool that GMs can now do this.
lol I knew someone that did thatQuote:
Xoo: I accidentally dropped my scroll of Utsusemi, can I get it back?
I have accidentally sold my garlong goggles :/ (really)
O_O Don't even joke about that! How horrifying...
Hey you! Mod/Rep/Person of Esteem person! The Roegadyn Tail Petition thread got moved to some dark deep cellar of the forum that hasn't seen the light of day rise in months. You cannot silence the People's Tail! Could that get moved back into the General forums please? There are still issues to work out and people to be heard out! :confused:
~~~DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FAST YOU WERE SCROLLING?~~~
Don't forget to check out the Tail Option Thread. Vote for a brighter future for all Roegadyns!
Click it!
I think you should add to that list:
• Garlond Goggles
• Onion Helm
• Asuran Armguards
They may be crappy, but they're not replaceable since you only get these U/U items on character creation
shhhh, no one tell meowy
