Consolidated Scholar 4.0 Feedback Thread

Having hit 70 and done/farmed both EX primals, I can safely say that Scholar really has no MP problems. Lucid Dreaming is good but ultimately it was unnecessary. It's just to homogenize healers. Adloquium may cost a lot but in a long fight, you're not really spamming it either. The oGCD Aetherflow heals make up for it.

My issues are as follows. Fey Union's range is too small and party members leaving the range leaves the fairy healing nothing and wasting gauge. The range should be extended to at least 20, ideally 100 like SMN's bahamut. Putting Eos in the way of danger is just not smart.

Excogitation is very subject to team play. Often times the co-healer doesn't let the tank drop below 50%. Add in tank CDs and this skill is just too situational. Ultimately you can lustrate shortly after. Granted you can argue this wastes a GCD, but given that this skill is barely better than Lustrate, the potency should be increased and the duration too.

Started leveling Scholar today after getting my WHM and BLM up first. Believe it or not, but in some boss FATES, I would actually not be able to get a gold medal! I am by no means a bad Scholar at all. The Big Boss FATE was at 80% when I joined, and my uptime on dots was probably around 90% with Broil spam and a Shadow Flare that would get nothing sometimes as they moves the boss around. From 80 percent for crying out loud, silver medal. Then it dawned on my that my baned dots at the moment do a whopping 200 damage on the fifth and next mob. Am I doing pre level 50 content or what? Everyone who is saying that these changes are justifies don't know what they are talking about. Outside of Bane and Shadow Flare, we have NO aoe ability. This concretely means that you can be in situations where you simply can't AOE because no stacks, no CD on cooldown or other situational things that will happen. I'm so upset with how they butchered this class.

So, in other words, be completely useless and counter all efficiency. Bad design in other words. It was never a problem before, It was never a problem on WHM, but it will likely be a problem on AST too. It's just pathetic that a healer can't just DPS and get max contribution while being almost perfect.

While I do reckon that SCH was overnerfed - and I clearly see a buff incoming in the next patches - this dire situation is making me re-evaluating some options we have.

For example, there is no longer any excuse for NOT using Selene or Eos manually. Our DPS "rotation" is stupidly dull now, which means that we have no issue multitasking and micromanaging the fairy. Apart from the usual spamming Embrace manually on the tank (which should give us a few more seconds to DPS than by simply leave her spamming by herself) we can also dust off the old Physick + Embrace macro. At 307 ilvl, those two heals combined add up to around 10-11k without crits.

In short, I think we should consider the fairy as an active part of our toolkit now rather than passive. I know that many Scholars were doing this already, but I've seen a lot who don't.

Also, I am going back to Eos for the time being as the bonus provided by Fey Wind at this point is not worth anymore, I fear.

This being said, SCH clearly got the short end of the stick, especially on the AOE dps part, but do not despair - hopefully SE will realise this soon enough.

I don't believe Fey Wind has ever been worth it outside of as part of a pet-swap opener.

Depends on if it will buy time for more healer DPS or if the extra healing is required. 3% haste doesn't seem like much but it can have 50% uptime. Or ~1.5% DPS.

Which is close to what Stratagem is.

not tried ex yet so hard to say about balance issues. but the general feel of the job, feels better. we had so many dps tools to choose from, and optimizing ur dps and heal usage in a fight like A11S took a considrable effort, at least for me, i could only dps efficiently in the first half of the fight. i welcome some of these changes with simplifications of our dps tools, i think if SCH was hit on the DPS side, it's fine as long as the other dps can make up for the loss of DPS.

on healing side, i do have some mana issues sometimes, but it's not too great. looking forward to try more content before i can understand better how we fair.
in any cause, i am leveling whitemage as a 2nd healer now. i don't think i can put all my eggs in 1 basket.

This is my first time posting here. As a SCH main, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the situation, as many have before me.

SCH has been killed. Plain and simple. It is not just about the nerfs, it is also about the buffs given to other Jobs. When speaking about how SCH perform, it is important to think about how other Jobs, it's to say AST, perform.

First off, the nerfs. There is our DPS nerf, of course. Even though we are "not supposed to dps," the fact is that SCH has the least DPSing tools left at its disposal, and those that are left were nerfed. AST even gained two more DPSing options, whereas we got none. Maybe we're not supposed to DPS, but when on downtime, what else can we do? Why give AST more options? And with the nerfs, our DPS is laughable. Bane, is the best example of this. And no, the fact that the nerf may have been targetted to SMN isn't an excuse. SCH could easilly have gained a "Enhanced Bane" trait. Problem solved and the SMN AoE is still balanced. Even on single target our DPS is nerfed due to the loss of two DoTs, why didn't we get an upgrade?

The nerf to the fairy heal is a major one. SCH doesn't have any regen skills at its disposal nor does it have any big heal spell. Our big heal skill (Lustrate) is locked behind Aetherflow stacks, we get 3 every minutes. The same is true for our AoE heal. The reason why it was designed that way is precisely because we got the fairy to compensate. But by nerfing the fairy, the delicate balance upon which the Job rests is compromised. Worse, our MP management is severely nerfed as well, even counting lucid dream. Because Adlo costs more, our MP goes down far more quick.

It means to stay on top, we need to use Energy Drain, which spends aerthflow stacks that we thus cannot spend on healing. But if we can't heal with stacks, we need heal with out spells that drain out MP. Healing with our stacks, we don't get enough MP to go on once they're exhausted. Of course we could dissipate the fairy, but that is not a good design. The very reason we need aetherflow stacks is because we have the fairy. And to get more, we need to sacrifice the reason we need them? I trust you are seeing why this is problematic. Of course, it is possible to still remain on top, more so with team help. But this isn't a MP issue the other healers encounter as much, and it leads to my next point.

Everything SCH can do, AST does it better. Its shields are better, cost less and are cast instantly. The support we bring to the team with Fey Wind and Strategem is laughable compared to what AST can do with its cards. And AST got the big heals SCH lacks, with whatsoever no downside. AST is more enjoyable to play and can perform better than a SCH with less efforts. SCH is inferior in every aspect to an AST at the moment. I am not saying to nerf AST, but SCH should be able to stand on its own. It was designed to be the Off-Healer, but the gap between SCH and AST is such, SCH cannot even begin to compete. SCH's unique flavor, to be a healer who can dps, was killed.

Last but not least, the new skills. And that counts for WHM too- We got basically no useful skills. Either they compensate for a nerf (such as the Aetherflow trait) or they have no good use (Fairy Link). And again, AST got all the cool tools. New AoE, options to lessen the card's rng from being a pain. Strategem is interesting, but unless it is buffed, how can it compare with a single expanded Balance?

SCH (and to an extent, WHM) needs buffing. It is not fun nor is it recommended to play. It has been reduced to a shadow of its former self. AST is more fun and can do everything better, and that's not how a balanced game should be.

Just skimmed your thing, but have to disagree on at least one point. WHM doesn't need buffs. It performs it's roll perfectly fine; that being the high-throughput healer. This was unfavorable in Creator where there were few heal checks and many HP gates, but there's not actually anything wrong with that character type if it suits the fight or the party. Lilies and Confession do probably need to be reworked, but even if you completely ignore them (other than Cure2ing to get a Lily to use DB with), WHM is still already in a good place. SCH needs to either get some buffs or reverted nerfs so it actually has something that the other healers don't both just do better, and AST needs some nerfs so it's not the best at just about everything.

Oh thank you, I've done just that! And yes, I agree for the nerfs and buffs. I haven't leveled WHM yet personally, so I was going mostly by what I heard friend tell me.

Just an FYI though the MP issues are mainly felt in 4 man content. With a co-healer, you had better not be running out of MP unless they are not doing anything and are forcing you to pick up their slack. I recall doing the final trial with one SCH who had no issues at all with MP... because he only was casting like one healing spell with no DPS every 30-40 seconds.

So they nerfed MP management (most relevant in 4-man content), healing throughput (most relevant in 4-man content), and AoE damage (most relevant in 4-man content). SCH better be godly come Omega to justify the slog through dungeons leveling it.

It was only really around the 65/67 dungeons where I felt that MP started to become an issue with things getting really out of control during the 70 dungeons initially. However, with the 310 gear it's definitely easier than when we first had to go through the content with mostly 290/dungeon gear.

I don't mind losing alot of the surplus mp that we had, the game should reward/encourage efficient gameplay, and it really didn't before.
However, I do have an issue that our potential dps is cut in half, we have no spammable aoe, fey union is extremely unreliable, both in start time, and range. (fairy should follow the target, or should have a 20' range.


It really feels like the dozen sch nerfs were the uncoordinated mix of ideas from different people without analyzing the total effect. raising adlo cost, and cutting mp regen by over 30%? reducing the number of dots that can be used with bane, and then nerfing bane into near-uselessness?

Personally, I feel that Chain Strategm, while a useful ability for a dps class, has no place on a healer job. Please remove it and give me something that will actually help with my role, or give me something that I can put on a friendly target for crit adlo fishing.

Excogitation: this is a waste of space on my bar. There is no excuse for it to cost aetherflow AND have a minute cooldown. remove the aetherflow cost from it completely, or remove the cooldown from it completely, and then it would almost be a useful ability.

Fey Union is very cumbersome, it requires a ton of work to position and use, for minimal effect. the healing potency isn't affected by heal potency buffs, so its pretty useless outside of 1 or 2 situations where the tank will be stationary for an extended time while taking damage. (thanks Susano)

Its very clear the whomever came up with these ideas for bringing sch down from its spot has never actually played the job in difficult content. I'm very disappointed in SE. In the past, it was fine for sch to have lower healing throughput when compared to the other healers, because we had more cooldowns to make up for it. but, you strip the cooldowns from us, cut our MP recovery options, raise the cost of our key ability, and then you end up with a healer with half the healing potential, and no utility outside of sacred soil. I feel very much cheated out of my job, that I've been enjoying since 2.0.

Sch has always had a fairly high skill cap, but it just feels like they've cut down on the potential of the class, without making anything easier at all. so now you'll have good scholars, who work their a** off, and can do the work of an average astro or whm, and then you'll have average scholars, who are completely useless now. way to go.

Succor 2-now has regen or adloquim's crit double thing.
Oncor- Lets you summon both fairies at the same time.
Buff adloquim potency to 400 and succor to 200-250
Embrace to 300
Aetherflow to 20%

OMG, if only. Heck, I'd take any one of those ideas. They can have dissipation back as payment.

After healing through Doma Castle, I'm still not feeling the MP problems too much, but I did notice if the tank doesn't pop cooldowns, we are having to work so much harder to keep them alive than we did back in Heavensward due to the fairy's Embrace not being strong enough to help with the healing as much as it once did. If they pop cooldowns, it's about the same as it was then. That of course requires the tank to actually be willing to make the job easier on the healer.

I think the #1 thing Scholar needs for the health of the game is it's AoE capability brought back.

Healing and Tanking are already thankless jobs that because of their responsibility and the blame that gets directed their way people are discouraged from playing them. Removing all damage capabilities from Sch and making it the stratagem refresh whore is a great way to encourage players to flock to the class.

Honestly Scholar's DPS did not need to be hit at all. In terms of numbers White mage in 3.5 was already capable of higher DPS. The biggest reason Scholars were seen as the DPSing offhealer was their MP sustain. With Scholars MP sustain being equalized (made worse) with the other healers than Scholar's 3.5 DD kit should be fine.

It was hit because you could combine a SMN bane with a SCH bane, and all those DoTs going out could wreck mobs fast. So they had to nerf Bane to compensate for it happening to begin with I wager. Sucks all to hell, really feels like we can't do anywhere near as much damage as we once could. Weakest healer in DPS and heals right now.

Scholar is fine for raids and pretty much still the go to. Mana-Management is by far no problem.
Shadowflare is awesome how it is, especially for fights where the bosses disappear/need to be moved very often.(Its even stronger if you count in that you can broil 2 times instead of wasting gcd to cast shadowflare)
Embrace scale way differently than our normal heals. Embrace is still strong, and its free compared to the hots from ast/whm.
Adlo -> since MP isn't an issue... why reverting it? It should be used for tbs and hard hitting aoe (spread) not as just a better heal than physic.

This doc is just a pile of bullshit... its just a "mimimi make my class op plx" of someone who doesn't knew how to play Scholar befor Stormblood anyway.

First of all I am level seventy and have been for a few days, I've mained Scholar since launch four years ago, and even played in beta with a breaks here and there as everyone has taken. So I know what Scholar was like in ARR AND Heavensward in the dungeon aspect, the trial aspect and raiding aspect. Astrologian's single target shield is instant with no cast time and shields for more than Scholar's Adlo which has a cast time. Astrologian's AoE Shield is stronger than Scholar's Succor, Astrologian's bubble shield is stronger than Sacred Soil. They get Bole Card for even more mititgation, but yet Scholar is and has always been the main shield and mitigation healer but Astrlogian can do everything we can do but better at all. I never stated it was all about dungeons and AoE damage?? That was merely ON TOP of AST having better shields and damage mitigation in every department. So I don't appreciate your false assumptions.

Ast (SE's new favorite stepchild) was buffed in Hw and even more in 4.0 putting them in a perm main healer slot, if anything everyone (especially whm mains) should be upset that the meta now solidifies Ast as main healer effectively kicking the games flagship healer (whm) to compete with us sch (the og hybrid healer) for the "side chick" healer spot all because instead of creating a completely unique job SE tried to copy whm and sch when they first created ast. Fact is we need to stop acting like everything is fine and balanced because it's not, I find it even more unbalanced then in HW. When ast/ast is seriously a considerable viable comp something is wrong! Very wrong! Ast/and any other healer is effectively better than whm/sch this is not balanced and it is not ok!!

There are points that people seem to be missing
Excognitionseems to have been designed as a premptive heal sincei n the media tour build it had infinite duration but in current build its only 30s and in 8 man content that rarely goes off with fairy and other healers regen right now it is a skill that has negative synergy with scholars toolkit and we are encouraged to use it as a conditional lustrate for 50 more potency
Dissipation was indirectly nerfed this expansion with the introduction of fey aether still was only used rarely for dps in 3.0 when people were using it as intended. in addition to these complaints the skill design makes no sense it gives you 20% healing up which is pretty weak on sch, but you also gain 3 aetherflow and that encourages using ogcd heals that arent effected by the 20% healing up and you lose the fairy which is stronger than the 20% healing up. and you cant remove the buff to summon the fairy early so youre stuck without the fairy for 30s

Fey union Feels less responsive than enkindle there have been times where there seems to be a 5s delay and during that time the fairy isnt casting embrace so unless i get alot of ticks its not even worth using when that happens.
broil 2 just a potency increase a new dot to make us technically only lose 2 dots would have been preferable the loss of 3 dots has made sch dps like the other healers but without the healing/card mechanics to pay attention to
Chain stratagem lost all our other defensive utility to gain offensive utility having a libra like skill was expected eventually but gutting our utility aoe and single target dps making the class feel much weaker than it was before the expansion was not a good trade imo ecspecially when AST exists
Quickened Aetherflow boring theres no indication when it procs so i have a giant aetherflow icon next to my already 2 class quages having an indication on the quage would be nice

emergancy tactics still feels underwhelming compared to other healers ecspecially since the animation lock on it is so long
Manaoriginal astrologian had the weakes potencies but the lowest costing heals that was a neat idea but now scholar has the lost potency heals but the highest mana cost and it has the worst mana regen out of all other healers
AetherflowScholar must choose between damage and mana regen or healing for its aether flow stacks ast and whm used to have that by needing to pop out of clerics and assize but now sch is the only one that has to choose abd sch uses a resource to use ogcd heals so they all directly compete with each other whm has 4 ogcd heals with a 1min or less cd that can be consistantly reduced unlike aetherflow AST has 2 but both are much stronger than the equivalent sch has

Oh boy, here I go... never thought I would complain about a job in FFXIV, but this is the time I guess.

First and foremost, I'm somewhat unhappy with the SCH right now. I've been playing SCH since ARR with occasional phases of DRG or MCH, but my heart always belonged to the SCH. Until Stormblood hit. The changes that came with SB now ripped my heart out, tore it apart, threw it on the ground, and then stomped on it. I'll try to explain what bothers me most with the job.

Dissipation: I never really liked it and didn't understand why I would ever unsummon my fairy. Of course I get a 20% boost (which does not affect Lustrate and Co, lul) and three Aetherstacks. But in my books I doesn't simply make up for a fairy that can autoheal a different target as I take care of a tank. AND I have to manually resummon the fairy afterwards. I get punished twice for using something of my skill set, fantastic! Now with 70 it makes even less sense thanks to Aetherpact...

Aetherpact: What the hell did we do to Square Enix to receive such an awful skill? Don't get me wrong, I like it on the paper! But the execution is so poor, even No Man's Sky in it's release state seems more polished now. There's that way too long wind up animation and the rather short tether . Oh, and the fairy seems to be so bad at multitasking it can't keep the tether going and moving at the same time, happily burning that silly fairy gauge for no good when the tank needs so move out of AoE. But the worst thing of all? The heal. For something that requires me to use my most precious resource, Aetherstacks, the reward from using Fey Union is just underwhelming. It's sad. Oh yeah, losing or switching your fairy resets the gauge. Silly.

Adlo: Adlo was one of my favorite spells in ARR and HW. Why? Well, I could heal a target AND prevert it from a little bit of incoming damage! Now? It costs way too much mana, and is now even worse than AST shields. The thing that made us special is now also one of our worst skills. Well, I guess I learned to live without Adlo, and only give it to tanks who refuse to use their CDs or if a tank buster is about to come. I could as well play as WHM - and would heal significantly better.

Excogitation: Borderline useless. Nice on paper, but just like Aetherpact it hardly finds any practical use. If there only were some benefit when the buff runs out unused, or provides some kind of passive bonus as long as the buff is running. I rather use Lustrate because I know what I get and when I get it.

Chain Strategem: Just like Excog borderline useless. Duration too short or effect too low, I don't know. Not worth using it except for Primals Ex and Savage later on where every bit of DPS counts big time. And I thought they would remove niche skills.

Aetherflow: I'm very sad they put it down to 10%. I know, we can now use that other role skill as well, but wasn't the joke that we didn't need another skill because we already had one? Now we have two. I'm just glad I managed to somehow get along with Aetherflow alone.

General DPS capability: I can't say I'm happy how things are now. I don't mind not doing damage since I have enough to do with tanks unwilling to pop CDs, but WHEN a tanks uses them and I have a little bit spare time to cast some DoTs they're rather unimpressive and don't feel worth the mana and cast time. Bane's a plain joke in my eyes, and not even a funny one. More the offensive 'I spit in your face' kind of a joke.

Summary: SE successfully managed to patch my fun out of a job I care about and love. Please overhaul your overhaul, SE. If neccessary remove the fairy and make it a CD like the PvP skill. Or seperate SCH from ACN if that helps! Do something, I beg you.

The Bubble does the same Mitigation than sacred soil, downswide for the AST is he cant move/use spells. The HoT can be brought for free with you fairy... buffed... every 60sec. Also scholar still have Fey Convenant which is 20% magic def up. Additional u still have an inbuilt 20% heal up which neither the whm and ast have now.
Excogitation is an amazing skill if you are in a group which is willing to utilize it.
Chain Strategem is strong, especially in combination with other buffs. You need to see the whole picture not just the class scholar.
Hell you even have way more access to all the Aetherstack spells now. (And the 10 sec reduce procs fairly often for "just" 20%")
Fey Union is actually useful if you try to find openings for it. (e.g. Susanno when you have to move right / left as group, you can totally ignore the tank)

I'm not saying Scholar are still OP, but they got closer streamlined to the other healers and are by far "nerfed to death". And sry, but its alot of babyrage going on in here right now which isn't even justified.
Just read all the proposals in this thread. 90% of them are would be way to strong (as like in your google doc)

And yes, Bole is to strong and even everyone of the world first / Speedrunners will tell you that and even would like to see it nerfed. But that doesn't make Scholar a "dead" class.

And no... Scholars aren't the weakest healers people are just exaggerating... instead of putting so much rage into it it might be better to either try to adapt to it and might find new challenges with it or just switch to the "so called op class" with which most of the players wont even use the max capability. (like they never did with scholar and now raging about)

There's.. a bit of delusion there to say they aren't the weakest because out of the three it is rather clear they are the 'weakest' at the moment. There's a clear difference between the shields offered by Scholars and the shields offered by Astrologian. To me, it is not right that the "raw healer" and the "raw shielder" are outperformed by the one that is a combination of both only because they went hogwild with buffing the hybrid so people would actually use it.

I enjoy playing Scholar and will continue to, but it's sort of a slap in the face to have gotten a lot of the changes (healingwise, don't give a hoot about DPS honestly) or lack thereof. Like what is the point of the Adloquium cost increase? Why have Adloquium and Succor been untouched for basically the last 4 years while the tweaks to Aspected Benefic/Helios just keep happening?

Being the weakest healer doesn't mean we can't heal for shit. It just means that, compared to the other two healing jobs, we heal less for more MP. And that's somewhat unfair considered what WHM and AST offer on healing power AND that Embrace got nerfed (and keep in mind that a 250 potency on a fairy is nothing like a 250 would be on a player). When a hybrid healer (almost in case of WHM) outclasses the original jobs then there's something wrong. And even you, Amaret, can't possibly justiy the existence of the current state of Dissipation and Aetherpact.

All in all, it's not just about the healing numbers. It's about the fun. And the SCH right now makes none - at least for me. I can completely ignore the fairy gauge like in all sub lvl 70 dungeons and wont miss a single thing. That's not exciting. That's plain boring. And stupid, because everything was balanced about that Level 70 SCH trait - which you don't want to use 'cause it's a big pain in the hindquarters.

The novelty of SCH was good MP regen with slightly higher costing spells and some raid ultility with sustained damage. All this made sense since it was a shield healer based on a dps job. This job makes no sense anymore. I still play it because its the only one im really interested in.. and it heals content fine despite having shield that sometimes dont matter as the tank takes more hp than it heals and shields for in a single second before I can cast another heal. Even though I waste 90% of my excognitions. Even though my fairy feels way less usable and still clunky. I still play it and find myself hoping that 4.1 makes some step... but im not going to hold my breath. My faith in this games direction is shot to bits already. About the only satisfaction i get is eye for an eye and adlo deployments... and thats not saying much.

Yeah, outside of this and SCH'S new skill set not synergizing well with its identity the rest of SCH is still pretty solid.

Bring back Bio and keep B2 as instant while reverting the changes to Bane. This will recover a fair amount of AOE and allow for the fluid weaving that makes SCH enjoyable.

I still feel that AST having stronger shields is a non-issue since SCH shields still give enough eHP where necessary but SCH Fairy still offers great utility.

But there is the benefit of a healing buff and if you save the Aether flow for when you re-summon the fairy it's free meter time. So it kind of works if Fey Union wasn't both trash and situational.

A lot of the SCH's new moves get a bad rep but they aren't that bad. They have problems in actual gameplay, but they're interesting ideas.

Excogitation's issue is in its implementation, because most of the time in actual play it's an added stress. When used prior to a massive tankbuster where you know the tank will go below 50 it's fine, but typically when you use it, which will be as an HP buffer on the tank while you do something else, then you'll often find yourself checking the target's buff list over and over again to see if it actually went off. And then when it does go off, it really doesn't heal all that much on a tank with their high HP pools, so their life meter fluctuates only a little. It is, after all, just a lustrate, and while it can still crit for amazing amounts, it usually won't. Honestly given its cooldown of 60 seconds this move needs to be stronger, because otherwise 50 additional potency and the trigger effect isn't worth the lengthy cooldown compared to ogcd Lustrate, which is both spammable and costs the same stack. Emergency and Deployment Tactics have much more powerful effects on 30 seconds cooldowns, so it's curious as to why Excogitation not only has a cooldown of 60s but also only lasts 30 seconds as a buff for such minimal benefit.

Chain Strategem is a fun idea because enemy debuffs are a rarity, especially among healers, but I feel like we got it to replace the loss of Virus, something I'm still confused about.

Fey Union is kind of funny because its potency is equivalent to player potency, meaning it actually heals at the level of a stronger player Physick, which is good considering standard Embrace is 30% less than it would be from a player. The fairy will also move to within 10y of the target when you use the skill and then move back to the location she was placed at when you cancel it, and that's pretty cool. Its problem though is that if the target moves out of range after the tether activates then she'll sit there and burn charge doing nothing unless they move back in range or you cancel the skill, and that's frustrating as hell. A focus-heal feature for the fairy that turns Embrace into Physick is nice though, despite the ticks still being on embrace's 3-second timer (meaning one heal every 3 seconds), and with proper planning you shouldn't run into out-of-range issues too frequently on the tanks, though because of its restrictive range trying to use it to heal wounded DPS is almost always a crapshoot, and you must always remember to position the fairy in a way that avoids boss cleaves. Still, it's far and away better than Dissipation. Fix the range issue and honestly I'd see myself using it more often, though even now I intend to purposefully make it work, despite its ridiculously asinine start-up time trying to refute me.

I'm sure we will get buffed soon anyway. Just like they buffed bard /Mch as soon as they released gordias (story). Wait next week or the savage release and we'll see some of our potencies increasing. ( we rly need it tho).

And btw, chain stratagem is great. In raid contents, it increases your group's dps so much. I wouldn't mind a 5% up on the potency tho :).
Sacred soil needs to get rid of the aetherstack cost too. We'll never use it otherwise.

The nerf to Bane wasn't a nerf directed to SCH but SMN, their AoE with the new Bahamut is really strong. You need to bring back a DoT but make it only SCH.

I approve of this idea. We even have the Lv40 job quest just kinda sitting there without any skill now that Leeches has been removed. Give us Scald there or something.

Oh! Or Leech, and let it's damage return some HP to the fairy, now that we lost Sustain.

Also, you know, an Enhanced Bane trait to at least partially revert the nerf would be nice.

Do we happen to have any clue if our stat priority changed?

Gonna need to wait a lot longer before stat weights come out immediately after a new expansion since they tend to rework them. Even then DPS will probably be coming out first. I mean heck it took nearly half of HW before Scholar's numbers came out and people finally realized how nuts spell speed is for DPS.

What SCH cares about Sustain? If the fairy needs healing, they'll heal themselves. Sustain is not worth the GCD for SCH.
