Glowing effects on "upgraded" gear.

Yep, but because of that there was a standardized belt formation the AF belts was a change in design as it was built into the design. I believe there was also rendering bonuses to not have belts being separate but I do not remember the update notes that well.

I wonder will we have the rune spiral separate from the glow because I like that more then the glow for armor. But to much and you will look likea billboard i suppose.

There are plenty of weapons within ARR that do not glow. I don't see what 1.0 has to do with it

Back when the game had a more cohesive and grounded gear design and didn't set out to pander to certain MMO audiences that love tacky gear, flop or not.

Not only that but you could equip two different Wrist, equip four different rings, wear two different earrings, equip a range weapon along with a main hand and second hand weapon slots. Also each of the four rings, two wrists, two earrings have different stats. BTW everything you equipped was shown on your character. :(

Sure they were, but was it the right choice? No. Not yet anyway. Most people couldn't run XIV at all. Did you see Yoshi-P's presentation? He even used an example that a certain type of flower pot found in Gridania equaled one player character as far as geometry and render resources were concerned. That's a no no for MMOs where you NEED quick and snappy response times.

Besides, sure 1.0 looked great, but you can't say that 2.0 is ugly. It's still a very beautiful game...and we haven't even the DX11 implementation yet.

A shame about half of those are recolors or the same gear with a glow applied.

Can you tell the dev team that personally I like the glowing effects and would think it might be cool if you could enchant your endgame armor with more glow effects that give it bonus stats or abilities like in other mmos. I don't think you should take glow effects out of the game because some people that don't like them. I love glow effects and would like to see more of them. Not everyone shares the same opinion and wants them removed from the game.

Uh, did you miss the part where they're talking about a toggle, not about removing them entirely?

Oh hurrah you've actually gotten them to think about giving us the option to disable the glows? Thank goodness. It was kind of neat the way the primal weapons would just defy the lighting system but since then.. good lord.

The ability to toggle off these glows (which, but the by, no other FF game has ever seen anything like - worst they've had was the odd tracer effect if that) would be one of the nicest additions I think they could make.. shy perhaps of completely removing them from the game >.>

I like the ifrit glow, but the relic weapons glow is to much for me.
I would really like this toggle

It'd be nice if the glow toggle were saved gear set wise a la /visor or helm display.

Some glows I love (Thryus Animus mmm), some I hate (Bravura Animus eww).

It'd be a nuisance to always be toggling when switching.

Very big on the idea of a glow toggle; glad it's being looked into.

I like the glow on the blackmage's weapon. It makes sense too.
Not so keen on the others though.

I glamored over my stardust rod zenith but I adore the Animus. The purple glow with darkness peeking through just fits so perfectly with BLM.

Personally, I hope they do implement the toggle since I like some glows and dislike others.

I think the suggestion Parz3val mentioned, that the glow toggle should be saved with gear sets (like the "show helmet" toggle is) sounds like the best solution. There seem to be quite a few people who like it only on specific pieces of equipment.

let me choose the glow! , i love the animus glow but the novus ugh....

Personally I hate weapons that look like Christmas trees, so I really hope they will put at least a glow toggle in the graphic options (on for everyone/off for me/off for everyone).

I would of like this a lot. If you have gloves on you can't see your wrist item.

Why yes, I am sure adding that menu would be rather simple to implement, but do tell me more about your programming experience.

That aside, didn't Camate say they would look at if it was something that could be done? Give it time people.

Players wanted dye-able AF a month or so after launch and we're getting it now. (if I remember right they had intially responded with the generic "We are not looking at adding something like this at this time.") Took some time, but we are getting it now that they figured out how to make it happen. It's only a matter of time before this toggle option is implemented as well.

I don't know. I don't want there to be an option to hide glamours. That kinda defeats the purpose of even having them. The option to disable glows is fine, but not to disable glamours. Just my opinion.

Any update if this has been passed on to the team to give a response to?
