Umm, you can do 11-12 minute runs as long as you have 1 SMN, BLM or WHM.

If you have MNK x2 you could probably hit 14-15.

WP speed runs are mostly about pulling methodology and AOE CC, not actual DPS. The AOE CC can be substituted, but makes things harder. Lower AOE DPS makes things more difficult, but still possible.

Yep, they plainly said that in DF they will drop if there's a mnk. What else do you call that? You don't want to run with a certain class then premake your party like everyone else that want that "ideal" group, other wise get over yourself, you or her are not special.

Everyone's aware of the advantages of running a BLM in WP, but MNK is also strong. If you're having 25-30 minute WP runs... that's not a class problem; that's a pull structure, cooldown management, or gear problem.

My usual group is MNK/BRD, and we clear in 12 minutes.

I'm always popping internal release+blood for blood (do a howling fist) +perfect balance => spam rockbreaker just about every other trash pull. when perfect balance isnt up i use my 3rd combo on rockbreaker. people would be surprised at how much aoe a monk can do on trash.

I've encountered a few instances where the Tank leaves from he start anytime I got paired up with a MNK on DF and its rather infuriating.

Yeah they have to wait 15min before que up again but DPS have to wait 30+mins for another hit on DF and I don't think these odds are fair at all. Honestly Tanks, if you don't like getting paired up like this then don't use DF for speed runs and form your own group.

There needs to be a huge penalty for leaving a group early into a Dungeon. Like within the first 15mins if someone leaves, they have to wait an hour before they can run another dungeon.

And I know there's going to be a ranking system put in place, I hope you will be able to rate people negatively for ditching.

I kind of skimmed through the thread but I thought this was interesting cause I was just watching it the other day to try to teach myself how to tank SR WP.

One of the best ideas I've seen on here for a while, abandonment penalties are way too soft in this game. At the moment there are some valid reasons to leave because there's no iLvl requirement for dungeons. With 2.1 though (iLvl requirements), there won't really be any excuses to leave a run early.

My brother and I, and two other friends did it in 10 minutes and 45 seconds as 2 blm and 1 pld and a whm. It's very possible.

There isn't as much "fotm" in endgame. In fact I've seen BCoB turns cleared with many different setups/strategies.
There's a lot of that pre endgame though unfortunately. Like in WP and AK

Plds really hate my no aoe Mnk when I pull 4+ critters off them in aoe.

Mnk aoe is great while cooldowns are up and fine while they aren't. Not sure about Drg but I am guessing it is the same for them.

This type of elitism is what really pisses me off. Stop shafting each other, the instances are already mind numbingly stupid easy. Whether it takes 9 minutes of 15 minutes what should concern you the most is if you beat the instance or not, not how long it takes. Seriously if you don't have 15 minutes to do an instance then why are you playing an MMORPG? I almost unsubbed because my old FC wouldn't even let me do WP/AK runs with them unless I was a BLM/BRD for DPS because they didn't have time to deal with any other DPS. I also got kicked out of a Titan group because I wasn't doing enough DPS, We made it well passed the heart phase and got titan down to 15% the guy who kicked me was in full DL and died way before me. The healers just couldn't keep up and we wiped... Screw your damage meters and elitism this is a game and regardless of what you might think Skill beats gear any day gear just helps out a bit you can be neck to toe in top gear and still be a complete idiot.

This on both statements. Might I add HM Ifrit, WP & AK! Ridiculous! First of all, DL nor relic needed for any of these listed fights. Make it easier? Ofc, but not at all necessary to easily win. Seriously elitism is more annoying than egotistical men suffering from jock itch. Both heads in a terrible mess.

All jobs/classes are good, & all players deserve a chance. Not everyone will fully utilize or comprehend efficient gameplay & not everyone will play the same. Hence diversity, else enters boredom. Do take helpful advice & disregard trolls. Most importantly, have fun. It is a game, afterall. :cool:

Yeah I know because I am BRD and well geared for WP SR of course I would want to do the PLD, WHM, BLM & BRD setup simply because it is the most effective safest way if everyone in PT know what to do.

BRD pros is of course high DPS and AoE, BRD can cast mages ballad between the fights, BRD can cast foe requiem for a +10% elementary resistance when fighting mobs, BRD can swift song for faster movement.

So this setup is figured to be most effective for WP SR and no other DPS can do the same.

If you are MNK or DRG or other job just make your own PT like you want it.

I had a blast doing WP with 4x SMN burn it works great with titan tanking each own monster and we AoE bio, bio II, etc not bad with this setup it is manageable to take down WP in less than 25min.

Ummmm.....no? DL is nice, but crafted gear ALWAYS has the advantage if you put the right melds into it. It allows customization....you can't get that from DL.

While I think you are a troll, I will clarify this for everyone else.

Full DL and full crafted gear are pretty much the same, before you meld anything.

Then you add a bunch of melds and the i70 gear is more like i85 gear.

Really sick of the bad rep DRG get. I can't join pug groups because of it unless they're undergeared/unexperienced enough to accept me. 10m run with BLM/DRG last night in my new FC confirmed my suspicions that we are more than decent. This was done with relic +1 and almost full DL, too.

10min is pretty easy if ur geared, smart and have the right party. 2 pulls before first door (on second pull just kill the tomberry and sleep the rest of the mobs), after boss, pull everything and AOE LB (do the same on last door)... these are the most important things u need to remember XD

The PLD u've been running with is BAD. You dont need to Spam flash, i just flash 2-3 times and start using riot blade, seconds later i use it more 2 times (Keep doing the same until mobs are dead). If ur PLD and WHM are good you can do it with 2BLM...

I find it comical since DRGs are only behind WHMs and BLMs for AOE DPS.

Lol yes is is fun to SMN burn WP and Titan EG*I got like 6k HP at lvl 50, he is a good tank summon for stuff like this.

DRG is very good for WP. Not only their aoe are good but also their single DPS for boss are very good too.
MNK is the only class suck on this run. Thought many MNK believe they are king of DPS.

Doom Spike is pretty damn great, won't argue with that. The only fatal flaw is TP, which gets drained in mere seconds. Invigorate is decent, but after I use it and drain all my TP again, I'm just using auto-attack for 10-15 seconds. :\

Melee DPS classes should have a more reliable way to recover TP; Relying on a Bard is not creating party-building strategy, it just makes parties more static and less flexible.

You could argue that BLM's Umbral Ice still takes time to regenerate MP, but it also recovers MASSIVE CHUNKS of MP at a time so you can still cast as it recovers.
