This isn't entirely correct. In fact this is the first x.01 patch since at least ARR (since ARR didn't have a 2.01 patch) wherein there were zero job adjustments. You could argue how major the adjustments were, but they did pull some jobs up from launching in a bad state into something viable. And given the state of the forums, very few players appear to be satisfied with the state in which monk launched. So it's fair to have anticipated some adjustments here, as well as potency changes for jobs like dancer and summoner that are underperforming in their roles.
Six Sided Star is decent enough to use before you limit break since the windup animation for the attack is longer than 5 seconds. But I do agree that it's a largely useless skill.
