Should the Heavensward Leveling dungeons and trials have item level requirements?

Only the first one i.e Dusk Vigil or the first story dungeon since Dusk Vigil is optional. I've seen people with really bad gear in there that sometimes makes it harder than it should be (usually people leveling alt classes). After that it doesn't matter too much as long as they get through the requirement for the first dungeon as someone hitting 51 can still be in junk level 50 or lower gear. I hope they add some kind of ilvl req to the first SB dungeon, but they probably won't, so we'll be seeing people in i140 gear in there getting their face punched in.

They removed the cap on the gear in Patch 3.38, second paragraph in Battle System. The third paragraph is about the lowering of the gears needed for the special tomestone.

IIRC the only thing with a cap left in Alexander is the Creator weapon gear for the micro stone.

While I'm normally against placing some arbitrary requirement for relatively easy content, the vault should be i120 minimal because that dungeon SUCKS when the DPS is low/heals are weak/tank is squishy.

As said, it has to do with some customization. We do not have enough options with what we are givin. We need way more gear options, have SE balance secondaries and other things in the game. Like a healer VITpaddding to live though some things easier. This is outside PvE leveling ofc but he thing is if you are going to make blanket rules like restricting accessories to job specific then you need to consider everything. Some tanks put a STR second ring for example because easier to get 2-270 rings that way, better secondaries + you can meld a vit into it. In PvP, melee LB is OP so people gear some vit to help live though it. Just easier to say you need a X weapon, X amount of main stat and X amount of HP to enter (different for each class though), since gear level average is too exploitable.

This is a tank queueing for a dungeon wearing all crafting gear and healing accessories and level 50 weapon going into level 60 content. The game let me do it. So I guess it isn't a problem?

Again, as soon as you say that it isn't a problem because the game let them queue then what I just did in that screenshot is 100% no problem at all. That's why you just cannot support that kind of reasoning because in the end you just turn into a hypocrite. Anyone who plays this game knows that screenshot is a serious problem. (btw I have less VIT than a level 40 something tank)

^ for anyone thinking you do not need level requirements or a rework on the level gear average entry requirements. It is needed, you need to be geared so well to be able pass the thing.

ALL DFS!! from Sastasha to salvage needs better gear checks and a better system! Have you delt with someone being level 1-5 gear in sasatasha? it need to be around 10+, that is not asking much. For those saying it is not needed because it is leveling, yeah that is exactly the attitude I met in the DF, expecting me to stress heal/carry people because the system allows it to happen.

This is not ok, it is not my job to be stress healing people because people are lazy and exploit the system. EVERYTHING needs level requirements, stop forcing me to carry this because people expect me to. I should not have to take a 30 min penalty because of system exploits because SE did not know people can be toxic like that. It is a bigger issue then PvP and yet they blocked chat in feast?

I don't really understand why someone would go into a dungeon with craft gear... Yes it may be possible but no one would really do it. I see the point you're trying to make but I think its hyperbole..... if someone has crap gear then they obviously have it for a reason because its pretty darn easy to get NQ armour of what ever level you're on.

It isn't, yes it is an extreme example to show how badly it can be exploited, but it does not change the fact people do enter these in low enough gear where they should not be there, stressing the healer to carry them. "hyperbole" is overused tbh and unfitting for this situation.

I am guessing? this was patched but people used to bring craft/gather accs in dfs like this for bonding. I also seen a few here and there use crap gear because they think 400 gil is so important. (admitted when questioned) No, just no....

And what is Hyperbole? Nothing but a stylistic device to emphasize a point. Usually when people say:"A ton" in casual speech, they don't mean a literal ton, they're just using hyperbole to emphasize that it's a lot.

Realistically, the most common abuse cases are done via accessories. You either rush them and end up with an average item level that offers far less stats than intended for that average or worse, you're using the accessories of a wrong job, which has the same effect, just more drastic. The weapon can also be an issue, since it carries far more weight than most other pieces.

If they put any ilvl requirements on leveling dungeons, they need to practically hand out the gear needed to meet those requirements. At no point should you be leveling and find yourself up against a wall of "I need to grind for better gear" - save that for when you're at endgame.
