Mentor Players Kicking newer players from Duty Ques for low DPS

Lmao I knew the 'E' word would be used sooner or later. There's nothing elitist being said here. You ask mentors do do their job right? Well here we are giving you advice. Get your cross classes or don't be surprised when you get kicked and start mouthing off when people tell you why you were kicked.

Still. You talked about "growing up" and accepting "instance will take 5 minutes longer", but yet, you can't force your way of thinking/playing onto other people.
Maybe it is also up to you to "grow up" and accept there are some players out there, who are not worth your time and your energy? Instead of going nuts on some idiots kicking you, for whatever reason they had (even if it happend twice in a row), you should probably just get over it and move on and have fun in the game and try to improve your skills in the pace you want to?

This is not meant to be offensive, I am just wondering why people are so sensitive about being kicked... I got kicked as well and I kicked others as well. Sometimes for good and sometimes for stupid reasons (in both ways).
It's a game and you should try to not let it touch you too much. :)

You can't get kicked in the beginning there is a 5 minute timer before any vote kicks can be initiated.

Considering dungeons usually take about 15-20 minutes if you were still "at the beginning" after those 5 minutes then yes there was a dps problem.

I suspect there is more to this story than what is told. People do get kicked for low DPS whether it is initiated by a mentor or not, noob or not.
I'm not gonna be nice about it. Being a mentor is irrelevant. Respecting your party is everything.
Part of that respect is acknowledging your shortcomings and working to improve. No one will kick you if you can give them a small fyi "sorry I don't have BfB Cross Classed but you guys can go ahead and pull I can still spam Quick Nock". But if you just instead carried on pretending to not care or expecting everyone to cater to you, this is lack of respect.
If DF is this bad then PF is the way to go, advertise your bonus and people will be very happy to guide you.

So what I am gathering from people in this thread that it is okay to kick players in a Duty Party Que because they have not met "the" parties requirement as what a DPS should be and shame on that individual for queing for a dungeon that unlocked for him at a certain lvl? Even tho that the previous 100+ dungeons ran with no wipe or problems. Not everyone who plays this game can put 6-10 hours a day into it to get everything they need. Sometimes they enjoy FF and want to enjoy story content with the limited amount of time they have. There should be no reason if a dungeon or trial is unlocked for you that you should be voted out for lacking abilities. If I was queing for (Hard) or (Extreme) or Raids then maybe. Im playing story content!

If I could find a way to post both chat logs then I would..there is literally nothing else to this. I stated in the beginning both times I am new to the dungeon, hello but I understand the mechanics. Did not say anything after both times and yet i get kicked. The reason I am bringing it up is because this has been the ONLY time its happened. Kicking players because you cant speedrun through is a problem. Especially if a Mentor started it which they did both times

I would recommend you to checkout/read BRD guides.

What that mentor did is not nice. Sadly the vote went through, nothing can be done about it.

well....yes, If I were a healer who totally sucked at healing people in the Vault, using min ilevel gear and we kept wiping then yes I expect to get kicked. If I were a tank that never used CDs, cannot keep hate and died constantly from standing in AoEs, yes I expect to get kicked. Just because you play DPS doesn't give you a free pass on content. There are folk out there who are not very patient, and rather intolerant of newer players. This is life I'm afraid.

Even the JP, who traditionally are extremely patient with newcomers, are not saints. I myself was votekicked for low DPS + crap mechanics that kept wiping the party in Titan Ex in my nub days. What did I do about it? I set out to master DRG so I can at least play to an acceptable degree.

No, I saw that you claim to know your role. Unfortunately, without having partied with you or anything, I cannot claim otherwise, so there was simply no need to address it. However, if you understand your role, you'd still know how [physical] DPS still need invigorate to perform to the best of their abilities. Sure, you can still perform and it might go unnoticed, but you're still going on just slipping on by with minimum effort for your class. Considering DPSing is your main role, you should at least vie for that one skill. Also, 10% extra damage every 80 seconds in a 15 minute dungeon (or longer) adds up. You know this, though, since you know your role. :)

I don't mind being called an elitist for advocating playing to the best of a class's ability. Please do not misunderstand, I am not looking down on a new player. People that know me know I enjoy helping and don't mind spending hours to help people. I just become very blunt when I start dealing with others that start to make excuses for what they do without at least considering what others are telling them.

No, we are not saying that. What we're saying is if you don't have your cross classes which in most classes is mandatory especaially by the time you're level 60, then you cannot be surprised you were kicked.

Here you are coming to the forums complaining about it and we're telling you exactly why it's a sizeable (not great) deal and why it's important to have these abilities which don't take a long time to get and instead of being humble and taking our advice, you're here getting all defensive about it. Sure the mentor could of been a damn mentor and tell you this instead of kicking you but the point still stands.
