So you've given SMN a role, but...

I would have preferred Summoner to gain two skills at each interval you learned them in Heavensward.

One for you the Summoner. Which we have. And the second for your 3 pets.

I would be A ok with that.

And Pets would be used more other then here yolo Ifrit or place Garuda here so you can get chip damage and enhance your DoT's. And Titan is kinda there if you're Tank is bad or you are out and about in PvE content exploring the HW Zones.

Single Target pet, AoE pet, timer based dps pet, Buff/debuff pet(Granted this could/should go to SCH). Why make a pet class then completely ignore it in the expansion? If you honestly look at the new Actions for both SMN and SCH not one benefits that aspect of the job.

Aren't they still working on a glamour system for Egi's?

I think people are taking this way out of context. I'm not suggesting any sweeping changes, I'm just saying they could have achieved the exact same thing that they achieved with the moves added this expansion without making the pet seem like a third wheel.

E.G
52: Unfettered: allows your pet access to greater power, requires 1 aetherflow stack. Duration 15s. (This would give Ifrit, Garuda and Titan access to a 200 potency AoE with the only difference between them being their AoE shape, Ifrit would be a cone, Titan would be a circle around Titan, Garuda would be a ranged AoE like the current painflare, the move would be on a 1 min recast).
54: Ruin 3: 120 potency, same MP cost as current non-DW tranced ruin 3.
56: Tri-disaster: same as is.
58: Unbridle: increases pet damage dealt by 10%, adds primal rage to all their attacks. Duration 15s. Primal rage: adds a debuff to the target that increases damage recieved from the master's ruin 3 by 300% and damage recieved from the master's DoT's by 5%. Duration 5s.
60: Enrage: resets enkindle recast and reduces the recast to 3 seconds for the duration. Removes Unbridled. Duration 10s.

These are just examples and my numbers may be off or unbalanced but the point is it would have achieved the same level of power that SMN has now but by making moves for the pet not for the SMN.

And to those saying opinions don't change anything, I'm well aware that they're not going to change the current SMN from what it is now. I'm giving my feedback on what I think is wrong with their direction so in future expansions they'll have something to consider.

Maybe. SE has been very tight lipped about it ever since they mentioned they might make it so you can glamour Carbuncle... Yes, that's the only pet they mentioned by name. It's just community hope that this will include other Egi's.

The current egis have a single target and an AoE spell, and Garuda has contagion. I'm looking at it from the perspective of "why would someone want a timer based dps pet?" When when they use <x> as opposed to Ifrit or Garuda?

Yea but Garuda vs Ifrit is basically decided by playing style and parsers, not actually usefulness in different aspect of the game. I haven't really looked at parser or anything but it seems like Garuda is back on top simply because of contagion, again...

As for a timed based pet, we have a timer based nuke phase that SE could have easily made into an Egi because that actually makes sense with a pet job. They could have even made so it buffs the current Egi, both damage and appearance to make the community happy.

One Idea I had for a change, which obviously won't be implemented but what the hell, was that the current pet we had out at the moment would modify some of our spells. It would thematically be represented by having a connection to that pets element. In that way, we would still be the star but the choice of pet would increase in importance. I also wish there was a long cooldown ability that would let summoner switch pets without having to pay the mana cost. It would make the job way more flexible.
