I quoted the wrong person, meant to say youve fallen behind but why does it matter if you dont do savage anyway

You mean savage? Because I'm running savage, but, besides the time it takes before you can actually start clearing it, we have to share all the upgrades that are dropping. And it's not like you can catch up with savage even now since the weekly lockout is still in place.
I'm not even talking about keeping up with the general populace (many of which haven't been doing any of the savage stuff, so I'm already ahead of them) but keeping up with my own group. To do that, I would need to hunt if they're going to hunt or I'll lag behind (as I have every time the upgrades have been capped everywhere but through hunts).
Settle down. My point is that for the content you run say expert roulette you are at max ilvl for that, but as we know you can be paired with people who have full raid gear, and they're not going to drop the gear to match yours, but you can't match theirs. So you're not necessarily behind you are on par with the content. But now atleast I'll have a chance to upgrade the gear to just stay on par and not get yelled at because they want me to pull 5 mobs at a time and AOE them to death with full raid gear. I mean if you're running ilvl 130, in expert, yeah I'd say you are behind but if you're over 190, you're doing just fine.
Void Ark = one per week, no weapon upgrades available yet
Savage Alex = limited numbers each week shared between a group of 8 regulars
Hunts = potential for unlimited upgrades in a single week
If you don't see this as being a formula for burnout, server drama, and stress for raiders who aren't full 210 yet, then you need glasses. New content is immediately trivialized for people seeking progression, because only hunts provide the uncapped access to upgrades they need for raid.
At least 210 gear from airship exploration has the potential to deflate Hunts this time, if those random stats have the possibility of being BiS over the upgrade Esoteric gear.
Hunts needed something to help revitalize them. People still do S ranks occasionally, but it's gotten hard to find enough people to take down an A rank. Hopefully this should help get people interested again, so we can get back to having some social interactive open world content again. I'm really looking forward to that.
For those who don't like it, there's the solo daily/weekly ones, and the Void Ark thing, so I don't really see why they should begrudge those of us who want the chance to do the hunts from getting something for them.
I wouldn't really call doing hunts for (previously) raid only upgrade items "playing the game". Hunts take absolutely 0 skill to do.
They should be adding stuff to purchase with hunt marks that doesn't have an impact on the raiding scene. Upgrade items bring out some of the worst players and makes for a very crappy scene when things get heated in the various zones. The draw for hunts should be glamour items, mounts, minions, etc. Things that don't have a direct impact on gameplay and progression.
