CT took forever for just 10 soldiery. For the fastest soldiery, Brayflox is the go-to: 13 minutes for 45 soldiery. If you don't want to grind Brayflox, Expert Roulette 7 days a week is soldiery cap. I don't know why people think blm and brd is the best combo. Sure Foe Requiem can boost a blm damage but with 2 BLMs flaring continuously, there's just no comparison.Quote:

Other party comps work alright, but 2 BLMs absolutely annihilate stuff with double Flares. BLM/BRD is nice for foe req. I've done it on my BLM with a MNK in the party and it wasn't bad either, just a bit slower.

Can be done in under 8 minutes with i81 BLM, i90 DRG, i85+ WAR, and i80+ WHM or SCH, no issues. Not the fastest / most efficient, but still very doable.

Fastest run I've done was 5:50. Paladin, Black Mage, White Mage and Bard. The first pull was a bit sloppy too. Could've shave off at least 10 seconds if was done better.

I think the various reasons if why BLM and BRDs are chosen over other DPS classes have been said. One dude says DRG-DRG could do the first 2 boss in 10mins.
Why would I want to do 10mins when a WAR-BLM-BRD-Healer combination that I've ran can do it in 5mins and 35secs at best record? Heck, I believe that if the BRD is replaced by another capable BLM, it could be cut down even further.
Assuming a straight run of 10, 5mins 35secs x 10 = approx 55.83 minutes. If I ran a DRG-DRG combination it would take 100mins. It's a whooping 45mins difference there and nope, I don't need to wait for 45mins to get a group.
And for every book that means 30 runs. Comparing the above BRD-BLM vs DRG-DRG combi again, that's 45mins x 3 = 135mins saved.
And 135mins means I can run another 24.5 SR using the BRD-BLM combination. That's very close to another book done.
It's just a matter of efficiency. When my experienced and good BLM friends are online, I'll just play tank instead of BRD and grab two of them. First pull, I'd pull everything, flash 2-3 times before going Hallowed Ground and pop a Sentinel + Conval after. Each of the BLM could have flared 3-4 times (I didn't really count but yes, I really see shit load of flares). I don't even need to pop another CD after Sentinel expires because its all dead by then.
That's the level of efficiency if you get 2 BLMs. Of course it's not that bad with 1 BLM with a BRD that Foe + Voice the first pull, probably another 10secs or so after Sentinel expires which is largely due to whether the BRD have procs or not. -

I would be a little pissed if i were a DPS and not BLM or BRD...
It does not concern me in personal, but i find it rather disturbing that one set of classes can clear that thing in half the time the others can.
They are double as efficient...
There are enough ppl out there that only concentrate on one Job, they are stuck with doing DF, and not only once have I seen players wording their disappointment when they see a Monk or DRG in the Group instead of the known AoE-favorites.. -

For example the dungeons could have been designed so that you could not do these mass pulls (more locked doors i.e.) or throw some enemies in you will not want to tank with 7 others around you.
