Tell your RL friend to play another class besides healer if he is that bad. Or just flat out tell him, "I'm not in the mood right now, I'm going to do X instead."

The question you should be asking is: "Am I enjoying this?" If the answer is no, then if you continue, it most likely will lead to you stopping playing altogether.

Well, I said I'd eventually get around to posting my own healer horror stories so here it goes.

1: (Most recent) To be fair, this falls under more of a "WTFWHM" moment, but I'll post it here anyway. As I was running as a Tank in an Expert Duty Roulette today, and the moment Wanderer's Palace HM loaded, the duty commenced instantly. I thought to myself "Oh. Well this'll be a quick run." What happens? Both the WHM and the MNK run off instantly without the WHM even bothering to cast Protect. I quickly decided to move forward myself thinking these 2 were about to commit suicide if I didn't charge with them. Thankfully, they both stopped after a bit, but then the WHM just started strafing left and right, popping on Cleric Stance. I was yelling "At LEAST cast Protect before we proceed you dufus." in my head.

After a couple more seconds, he finally Swiftcasted Protect. Given the way things were going, I settled for just a group Protect and pressed on, as it was obvious the WHM didn't seem to care about giving party buffs all that much. Everything went smoothly up until we got to the first boss, where both the WHM and the MNK promptly left. (At least they did that BEFORE I decided to charge the boss) Both me and the BRD got replacements rather quickly, and after I told them that they suddenly left, one of them implied "Light Windows must have changed."

I swear, Light Farming has horrible affects on player mindsets. Leaving a dungeon right away just because Light Windows changed. Bah.

(The rest will be related to times that I myself was a Healer, I promise)

2: Any time a Tank instantly charges off without waiting for me to cast Protect at least. I've seen a couple stories in here already about that, so I'll refrain from repeats.

3: Any time a Tank pulls more then they can chew with their current rather low level gear, and promptly blames the healer. (More detailed version later on)

4: Any time Tanks start having Epeen wars in any of the Crystal Tower raids. World of Darkness being the worst.

5: One time while running Brayflox NM, I ended up being sent into a party that was down a healer and DPS. I filled the Healer spot as a WHM, as I needed the place for my WHM animus book. Found out why the previous Healer and DPS left soon after I joined. That Tank... was NOT a Tank. The Tank couldn't figure out how to hold aggro on mobs of enemies. He'd select one target and would be completely oblivious to all the other enemies around him. This often left with me with no room to turn on Cleric Stance to help DPS because the enemies would often keep going everywhere attacking everyone else that wasn't being targeted by the Tank, most often me. (Cause you know... dat heal hate generation)

I'd work around this as best as I could by using Fluid Aura on any enemy targeting me and then putting them to sleep. (Or just sleeping them) Made worse by the fact that sometimes when I put an enemy to sleep, THAT'S when the Tank runs over and hits it, waking it right back up, and then doesn't bother to actually pull hate off of me. (Starts spamming Fast Blade, Riot Blade instead) Had a tendency to stop and run in circles while we're waiting for him to pull the next mob.

Both boss battles I participated in got messy fast because the Tank had serious issues on holding hate, resulting in me spending 100% of my time just trying to keep everyone alive. Upon reaching the final boss, the biggest offense came up. He not only never bothered to dodge the boss's easily avoidable AoE breath most of he time, he would never move the boss off the poison puddles it spat out, resulting the boss never being able to die. Eventually, one of the DPS just told me "Stop healing him. I'll ninja Tank it. >_>" I was quick to agree, because the "Tank" was obviously not listening to us when we were constantly telling him to get the dragon off the puddles.

While I patted myself on the back for keeping the bad Tank alive for not dodging anything, it DID cost me all my MP on our first attempt... through just healing. So I let the Tank die, and we started letting the Ninja tank the boss. Already went WAY better when the NIN started Tanking. Still wiped due to lack of MP though. On second run, I didn't even bother healing the Tank and allowed him to die, so that the rest of us could just 3 man the dragon while reserving my MP for a player who actually knew the meaning of the word "dodge". We won 3 manning the dragon. Guess who got my commend at the end? (In that regard, I got both of the DPS's commends I assume, as I left with 2 commends myself)

6: I don't remember all the exact details of this one as this happened a fair while ago now, but this one will never leave my head. Ever. One time while I signed up for a Trial Duty Roulette as a SCH, I ended up in a Garuda HM party of people who's gear levels were all rather low except for mine. It was obvious there was no burn rushing this battle. After applying Protect and Stoneskin to everyone, the Tanks quickly charged before I could ask if the newcomers needed any explanation. (A newcomer message clearly flashed) Everything went smoothly at first though. They hid behind the rocks, the Tanks actually held her aggro and kept her back turned, and they knew about knocking out the feathers. (The way people are SUPPOSED to this fight, instead of the ever so constant light grinding way everyone does now, including myself, lol)

But once Garuda wrecked the rocks with her signature attack, this is when EVERYTHING went down hill. First thing the Tanks try to do is Tank her in the middle... where one of the 4 freaking tornado AoE's spawn. Said Tanks and DPS start promptly getting pushed around, with DPS falling like flies to an insect zapper. I promptly have to start popping Swiftcast and rez spells on various DPS all while trying to keep the MT alive, made a bit easier by the fact that the other Healer was also trying to get rezs off and keep the MT alive. Said DPS that just rezzed promptly go and stand in more easily avoidable AoE bursts and die again, downing us to just 2 DPS, and then 3 as I got off a regular rez cast time spell on one of them.

Upon the shift in which Garuda calls in more feathers, along with the Satin Plume, the Tanks make no effort to rotate her with the rotating Tornados, resulting in more un-necessary damage, resulting in me having to pour more of my MP and Aether reserves into the MT, while one of the DPS blindly step into the tornados and die again. During the phase of which she finally calls upon the arena hurricane effect that they were used to seeing on NM, both Tanks and DPS take the hurricane effect as well, resulting in us now being down to one DPS. Again. Did I mention in all this time, the OT never bothered to grab the adds, nor the MT, resulting in the adds pestering both the DPS and ESPECIALLY the healers all this time? Said adds never got burned down fast enough either, even though DPS obviously shifted their attention towards the adds (While OT didn't), resulting in more un-needed chaos. During the hurricane phase, one of the DPS has the gall to call out both healers (one of them being me) on not healing them enough, even though they keep standing in easily avoidable AoEs and the OT is doing nothing to help with the adds. At this point, I had already popped 5 or 6 rezzes on the DPS, was down to no MP left to rez with, keeping what little I had left for healing the MT, and no Aether reserves left either, with Aetherflow on cooldown.

I simply reply "Problem. MP." (I was down to about 700 MP left out of my max of 4399 something) He has the gall to then say "THEN USE AETHERFLOW! ENERGY DRAIN!" ... which I've been doing the whole fight trying to keep my MP up. At this point, I became annoyed and responded "I've been doing that the whole freaking fight." I mean seriously, did that guy honestly think I was just spamming heal spells with no regard to the use of Aetherflow and Energy Drain? Seriously, I've NEVER had MP problems in any fight as a SCH, but the moment this fight came along, I couldn't even keep my MP up as a SCH. Eventually, one of the other DPS finally asks to just allow the wipe to happen, which I did because it was obvious the OT wasn't paying a lick of attention and the DPS were all suffering from "Brink of Death" status now.

What happens the moment round 2 begins? I get kicked. ME. (And I assume the other healer too, who probably said "no" to opting to kick me) The one who never died to Garuda the whole fight. The one who got off 7 freaking rezzes during round 1. The one who kept the MT alive from his own stupidity of standing in the tornados. Their first response to the wipe is to kick me. I crossed my fingers that any other healers that got sucked into TRYING to help those "players" promptly left themselves upon seeing who they were dealing with.

Crap like that is why healers opt to just leave on their own and leave the Tanks and DPS to their demise. This is why healers leave duties on their own accord. To this day, I still feel like that group left me with cancer and a rotting brain, of which I even (accidentally) shouted out in Mor Dhona. The best relief I got from that was the following responses:

"Daaaaammmmmmnnnnnn! That is ****** up!"
"At least it wasn't herpes..."

Popped into stone vigil hard mode for my zodiac drop, found myself with ragnarok warrior, and high geared brd and blm. After buffs, off goes the tank, pulling everything to the door. Then pops no cooldowns, hits the floor, followed by the party. Well, saw that coming. Buff up again, the tank says, "stay with me, spam cure II" Duh, I just tried that, he died before getting aggro on every mob. This time, my DS cure II hits him at 400 hp, and I manage to keep him up. After the pull, the tank declares, "no cooldowns!"

Idiot, it's because you have a good, overgeared healer. I tell him I'd be happy to add dps if he uses cooldowns, and he says "we have two great dps." Hello? You mass pull for efficiency, having healer dps is even more efficient. No logic here. Then, at the first boss, adds pop. I kite them from the boss a bit, keep doing my thing, and notice the dps are ignoring the adds and staying on the boss. The brd yells at me to holy the adds. So much for "great" dps. I get slowed, almost die, kill the adds, and the boss goes down. I promptly left, hoping an i70 healer would join them after and slow their run to a crawl.

and I think that nin tanking boss was one of those times

So going for the zodiac drops for The Last Resort (second zodiac, so running all dungeons on sch so i can combine the nexus light grind stage with zodiac drop stage) and have noticed a propensity of tanks in df who dont understand the entire vit/str balance. Got into snowcloak, pld tank, just above 5000k hp (700 less than my fairy has, 1000 less than me) not even i90 left side, but i100+ accessories.....all strength. Well it was fun, nice player, though very very very difficult to heal.
Sunkern Temple HM, pld, high allagan gear, looks hopeful. Well turns out they dont know how to pld to save their life. Big big big pulls, which are no problem at all for me......if you know how to use cooldowns. First pull tank waits until 2 mobs are left alive, both less than 50% hp, then hits sentinal O.o. Oh joy. Get to bosses, the tank decides to change to "dps". All vit accessories are changed to strength, sword oath it engaged. Again this is fine, my raid team members do this when we run dungeons.....but they know how to use cooldowns......this tank doesnt. So every boss, its a struggle to keep up with this tank. Constantly been taken down to less than 50% hp in one hit. Sigh sigh sigh.
Also, when you do this as a tank, and make sure your healer can not dps in cleric stance, think of all the dps the team is missing out in total. Its not always the case that the teams dps goes up just because you go into sword oath/full strength accessories.

Bray NM run.. Low roulette finally broke me. :(

I was on my level 43 WHM, and am still not entirely comfortable with DPSing/MP management. We go to kill the first group of mobs and the SMN does not have his pet out. I comment about it and he summons Ifrit. Trash is taking a bit to kill, even with me DPSing.. and I notice the SMN is spamming physick. I tell him I'm good with healing, but he continues. His rotation seems to be spam ruin I until tank drops below 90%, then toss out 10 physicks.

We get to the first boss and again, SMN spends time physicking the tank (does not throw dots, lets his pet die) and the tank doesn't bother picking up the add, which runs over and eats my face. I get annoyed and start yelling at the SMN to DPS instead of heal (yeah, bad on me.. patience died). We wipe, come back, and have another messy go at it (this time with tank actually picking up add). Once boss is over and loot is rolled on, I initiate vote-kick on the SMN since I'm in a bad mood. It goes through.

Tank immediately makes a pissy comment and quits, then the other dps (MNK) leaves soon after. I quit, yell angry things at my friend, then re-queue low roulette. I get into Bray NM in-progress, see a DPS say farewell to the tank, and see that DPS leave. It's at the final boss with 15 minutes left, and surprisingly enough, the remaining DPS is the same monk from my failed run. I suggest we just try to 3-man it instead of waiting for a DPS.. and we smoothly clear it without any issues. Friend suggested I stay out of low roulette for awhile.

One of my special pet peeves is BLMs and SMNs stopping to cast weak Physicks when they ought to be DPSing.

If the healer(s) clearly can't be bothered or trusted to save you and that tiny heal will make the difference for the next hit, sure, go for it. But most of the time I watch them die to avoidable damage while standing there trying to self-heal from otherwise non-lethal damage.

Most of my problems are my friends :) Copperbell mines hard, couldn't finish due to timer insane. General public it's Crystal tower, and it is generally the other healers. I focus the MT, why is my regen the only one? Why do I have raise people in your groups when both of you are alive? I have to keep my groups alive, the MT and you alive? Most of the time in CT i keep all the healers with SS and Regen, the MT with regen and keep my bene ready because the healers in the MT group must looking at their fingers instead health bars. I feel like i am going to give myself carpal tunnel. As soon as I think people got this I can keep my group alive make sure the MT stays up and Im chill all the other healers are dead WTF. So i just go like a crazy person there always and don't stop. I could be part of the problem because when Im there they probably think this is easy as hell I can go get a drink.

I don't recall the quality of his gear, but yes, I do remember him being a GLA instead of a PLD. It's very likely we were in the same dungeon with him during the time the NIN had to tank the boss.

Oh yes. I mean, sure, sometimes it's warranted. Say if people are spread out and tanks and healers are damaged and thus take priority over a caster. But that's not likely to happen often, and if people are close enough, AoE heals will fix those situations a lot faster ^^;

Also, to add to that annoyance... tanks that stop hitting the boss in order to self-heal for less than one auto-attack from the boss -_- And then proceed to lose aggro.

I don't know the name of the guildhest, but it's the one with the Malboro and the bubbles. Nearly every time I do this instance, people either pop the purple bubbles (BAD!) or ignore the blue ones, which spawns a crap ton of slimes and causes everyone to get stacks of poison and then die. Y U NO MECHANICS!?!!1

Got a run in Vigil yesterday, trying to farm the card. Tank immediatly went on a run, without any time for me to cast a shield. Pulled everything from the entrance to the 1st room. 10 mobs ? At this point, I decided i'd swiftcast a shield... No time for a regular one at all. I hardly had enough time to keep him alive at all. Could have been fine, as I was sync'ed, if only the dps would dodge. But they didn't. One dps dies within a minute. "swiftcast raise combo ftw". Errr, cooldown's not over yet. This failed try to raise caused an interruption in my healing - wipe. Finalled reached 1 st boss. Spent the whole fight casting regen and dispelling everyone's debuff as they just would stand in front of the boss. Dodging guys, dodging.
First boss, done. We keep running a bit, and he tank goes down the stairs, where we usually pack a few before going to the next room. But hell no. He keeps going, pulls everything from the next room as well. Wipe again. Had 3 tanks to heal instead of one. We finally reach the 2nd boss. Bard asks the tank to keep aggro more firmly. I said I'd handle the cannons. Well, wish I could have. The tank actually tanked the boss right in front of the cannons, making all tornadoes popping right in front, despite the dps shouting at him to move the boss to the entrance. Wipe. I left at this point.

Actually, tanking it by the cannons works just fine, if the tank squishes in between two cannons as close to the balustrade edge as possible, since that means the others are out in the room, meaning all the tornadoes go to that side of the room. Tanking it by the door usually keeps everyone else between drake and cannons, aiming all the tornadoes at the cannons. I tend to be by the side walls with dps/healer on the entrance side of it whenever not dealing with cannons or dodging tornadoes, but have (after running SV with friends a few times) gone over to liking the 'tank by cannons' method more and more.
(Of course, this requires tanking the drake with its back out toward the room, not with its back toward the cannons ^^; )

I ran Labyrinth of the Ancients on my scholar for the weekly quest, and it was a nightmare XD Everyone in my group except for one person had over 5k hp, so I was expecting things to run smoothly. I was very wrong; my healing partner (whm) would rarely throw out a heal, let alone even dps. I saw a cure 2 here and there when the tank was on the verge of dying. I was really struggling to keep the group alive since pretty much the group wasn't dodging anything. I was trying to type "please help me :c <whm name>", but I was spamming heals like no tomorrow, and #ps3problems ahahaha. There were times when the whm would die, and I was so desperate for help that I raised them, even though I knew it wouldn't make much of a difference OTL I got five commendations either by chance, or others noticed as well XD

cutters city today, first time clear bonus appears i ask whos new. Just the ninja replies, no problem i say ill fill you in with strats when needed.

first pull, notice tank doesn't use flash at all (paladin tank) blm deciding to sleep each pull no fire II spam, 3+ mobs but anyway no problem not going to mention it.
We carry on through the trash, tank having major aggro issues i auto translate flash during all this each pull and ocassionally he pops it.
First boss...I explain in as much autotranslate to ignore adds focus main boss only, ill kite the rest. The newbie ninja sticks to the plan, the paladin and blm however preceed to chase me down, really was quite comical thankfully the ninja takes down main boss.
Clear the next trash and 2nd boss same issues of aggro but idc we are getting through it, a couple of fluid saves (tank just sat in bomb aoe no stun)
Last trash to kill before Chimera...this is what im dreading.

Again i explain strat, whenever dragon or ram is used i express in autotranslate to either get close or run away. blm never moves neither does the pld however the ninja attempts and gets hit a few times
After depleting all my mp relentless curing the tank and blm im out..pld again low hp just sits in a ram, aint no way im gonna be able to save you mate he drops i call wipe.
Second attempt, i explain again this time placing waymarks one in center and one that will be out of ram range.
I ask tank please tank at A
we begin, i see ram shout WAYMARK B. Tank stands still along with blm, after tank is hit he then proceeds to run to waymark B wtf lol
Again getting low on mp of relentless cures and raises on blm we get close to a wipe, pld dies blm dies but the ninja is still standing dodging those aoes like a pro.
Last 30% to go, i dont bother raising blm and tank. Just me and the newbie ninja, we dodge aoe after aoe perfectly and take it down.
Funny thing, i do cutters again and get the same blm...i ask ae you same blm? he replies yes mate....does the same thing at that boss lol

Because other Healers are dumb in your raid and don't understand that it's a raid and not a competition between groups XD. There are so many who will absolutely not heal anyone not in their own group or be flexible enough to assist another group when they lost a healer and the remaining one is struggling to res and keep the remaining party alive. Healing the MT should be a given but some people can't understand that concept outside of their own party >.>. Works much the same in other raids on last boss of WoD stacking regen on the MT is almost needed but some just won't do it then blame that groups healers alone for the MT going down. Cerberus with adds healers need to watch all the OT's and MT but most will tunnelvision on their own Tank and can't see anything around them.

I really don't understant this "tunnelvision" you're talking about, though noticed it myself quite a few time, by other healers. I have my eyes stuck on the hp bars of everyone, at all times, be it angry manyu, cerberus or any other dungeons / bosses. So much in fact, that I realized that there are some boss I have never even seen their face at all.

Sorry, but if you are being serious then that is a terrible way to play. Yes, you need to keep an eye on the party bars, but you also need to watch people's positioning, look at the focus target bar and the boss to see what is coming next etc.

Yep. Situational awareness, much like prevention of forest fires, is everyone's responsibility.

This happens a lot. There should be a requirement of "must have cleared Haukke Manor HM this many times before entering dungeon."

Ugh, so I've ventured into WoD.. and man, there are a lot of terrible healers out there. :(

Had WHM today in mostly i100 on left (one i120) plus mix of i90/i100 on right, and i90 relic. She wasn't ressing as much and got hit by a few avoidable mechanics.. which is fine and all.. but proceeded to get eaten by Cerberus 3 times. We were in alliance A and she wasn't getting small.. oh no. Just running into purple, died, get ressed, haul ass back to purple.. Healer pants dropped, and as soon as I clicked need, she said "please, I really need it." Too late, I got it. >:| Someone said I should pass if the healer needed it, and I pointed out it was an upgrade for me and we weren't that different in gear. Her response was "but I've ran it 10 times."

Worst part is, on the final boss, she proceeded to eat a bunch more mechanics then didn't take a res from me. Left her dead and got the other 4 dead people in the party up, got everyone's HP to full, then tried again to get her up (and she took it). 10 times and she didn't know basic mechanics?? (It was only my third, so really lucky for the drop).

Finally went into WoD (not really by choice...) to heal it for the first time since it came out (been barding it on an alt. It was a weird conversion from how I viewed these bosses and mechanics). I.....pretty much saw everything everyone's been saying in this thread (from a healer's perspective.... when I'm on DPS, I'm not paying attention to tank's regens, etc). If not then-some.

My alliance's tank was MTing most of it. We had several WHMs, including myself.
- the infamous "Why is my Regen the only one??" (every now and then I'd see a second. There were more WHMs than that -_-)
- Other alliances don't give a damn unless it's their peeps/tank
- The "afk" healer standing behind me (and away for Mortal Gaze, I'm assuming) for all of the first boss. Only moving to avoid roulette/Doublevision (they got kicked right after)
- The "I'll just succor here and there, let my faerie do all the stuff and occasionally throw out a physic until I'm forced to actually do shit" co-healer
- The mechanic ignorers (I'll admit, I got caught in a little bit of healing tunnel vision because of this - and ended up in same category -_- Breaking things while trying to fix broken things, I suppose.)
- The 'lets keep being on the complete far opposite side of the ring from the healer all the time' positions; lets all be completely scattered so I can't even Medica usefully (but part of this is the nature of the large arenas... but still annoying)
- The bards that won't sing, even at full MP and I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel on Cure I's and Free Cures (Thanks to Shrouds) because I'm semi soloing and chasing people down all the time.
- Tank dies because I can't do all this shit, by my self, at once and all over the arenas
- Blame the healers (of course)

Second time in was much better. Co-healer D/Ced a few times and lagged in mechanics (I wish I could grab their arm and pull them out of the selected Roulette area from Angra x.x), but they were doing what they could (*/soothe to them*). A partially absent co-healer in run #2 went lots smoother than all of run #1. >_>

I probably won't file this under the genuine horror story pile, but it was an unnecessary nuisance. I went into Garuda HM as a SCH expecting a quick and clean victory, like the two dozen other goes at the Howling Eye I have been doing this week.

Five seconds into the fight, my internet decided to gleefully troll me, so I was lagging considerably. The other SCH noted that I was shown as disconnected very briefly (it left me a wee bit disconcerted), and as a result she had to do the vast bulk of the healing. Once my internet decided to be cooperative again, the group wiped, possibly to Aerial Blast.

Round 2. Okay, I thought to myself. That was probably sort of my bad, though honestly, even if one healer was conspicuously lagging, there was no real reason why the rocks would be in such a poor state that Aerial Blast could wipe everyone out. What were the DPS party members doing? The unmitigated lag I just experienced deprived me of the chance to see what had happened, so I chalked it up to perhaps no one was bothering to deal with the plumes, and perhaps the one non-lagging SCH was being overworked. Ehh, fair enough, I thought. This time we can easily run Garuda over, right?

Yeeeeeeah.

Erm, main tank for some reason decided to hug Garuda right in the centre of the arena in Phase 2, while the off-tank was...twiddling his thumb? Move to the rim and away from the whirlwinds, I tried to say, but my keyboard decided to stubbornly only half-work at that very moment. None of the DPS members said a word, so it was up to the other SCH to instruct one of the tanks to move Garuda to the rim and out of the whirlwinds. Did either of them comply? Nope. Even better, when the MT finally decided to move Garuda's arse over, it was right on top of a whirlwind, while dividing the party across the three major "safe spots", with Suparna and Chirada spawning just in time to eat our faces off one by one.

THEN lag returned like a bad rash. Next thing I knew, I was being killed by a rotating whirlwind. I could almost see the agony of the other SCH as she frantically attempted to bring me back to my feet, just as one of the tanks was about to meet his maker. For a split second, I could see the message asking if I accept a Raise. I choose "yes" and subsequently...

Disconnection.

Sigh.

Honestly, it's never usually been this bad. I guess I just have gremlins in my house tonight.

Sounds an awful lot like the Garuda HM fight I described a few posts ago. Given the number of players subscribed to the game in total though, it shouldn't surprise me to hear of other Tank players acting the same way as the ones I worked with.

Speaking of healer horror stories though, I just remembered one more.

One time while I was running Titan HM, there was an obvious troll playing as the MT of this group. Any time Titan was about to unleash his most powerful cone AoE blast, the Tank would deliberately run towards any person standing behind Titan, causing Titan to turn around, and unleash said move on any healers and DPS standing there. I thus end up taking full blow of the blast and instantly die, being the only one who wasn't in on the fact that the Tank was a troll. I then noticed that during this part, all the DPS had already moved the moment it was about to happen. It wasn't just one troll. It was a group of them. I called the Tank out on this, in which he replied:

"I thought the damage split between party members."

No. No it doesn't. Not Titan's AoE. The Bard then called them all out by telling me directly that they're ALL trolls. I then looked to see the other Healer was still standing, but was doing nothing to rez me, despite there being so many obvious open attempts to rez me. Turns out the ENTIRE group save for the BRD were ALL trolls, attacking other random healers that joined the group for sadistic pleasure. I was the 6th healer to roll into the group according to the BRD. The only reason the BRD was still standing was... well.. she's a BRD. What do BRD's do when it comes to DPS? She was clearly making EVERY effort to stay away from Titan and the rest of the group. Made more clear that unlike all the others being healed, the troll healer was making no effort to heal the BRD, meaning the BRD had to self-sustain herself by catching the AoE heal bursts or by using potions.

6 people in that group were sadistic trolls. SIX. This is why I don't like trusting myself to Duty Finder and landing in PUGs. I do it anyway for the dailies, but still. This battle was seriously going to be my first ever Rage Quit in an MMO, assuming I had the time to actually do so. (Titan died shortly after I got done raging at how sadistic the rest of the group save the BRD was) I basically got some freebie Soldiery and Poetics in compensation, but I still left with a sour taste in my mouth.

Running Pharos on blm trying to get a zodiac drop and the healer was a whm sporting an i21 (no that's not a typo) waist, i60 weapon, a piece of fending jewelry, and a piece of slaying jewelry. After the first wipe on the first boss, the tank asked the healer if he seriously had nothing better than a waist that was ilevel 21. Healer said no. After the second wipe on the first boss, the tank asked the healer if he realized Pharos is healer intensive. Healer's like "Maybe." After the 4th wipe I left. Went back in with a geared healer and had no problem.

Man you guys remind me of the aurum vale I've had about a week ago. It was for my Zodiac, Last Resort and at the same time nexus light farm.
Heard from friends "I one shotted AV" it got my hopes up. But one group after another and still no drop.

The worst run however was with an apparently fresh 50 group. I was prepared that the run would go really slow. Not lying here, I prepared to semi afk a good bit instead of DPSing so it would run smoother.
The tank starts pulling the first group. Stands in the blight, proceeds to pull more mobs by not moving away. Here is the funny thing, he single targets. We all know the "No flash PLD". He was one. While getting bashed I manage to keep us alive. No more semi afk I realize. But what does the tank do, HE EFFIN IGNORES THE 4 MOBS PUNCHING ON THE GROUP. He just goes and pulls the next pack and proceeds to single target. We wiped. On trash. And that shouldnt be the only time we do. First boss, finally some other party members talking except me auto translating flash. "mange fruit a 2 stacks"
OH JOY
The dragoon eventually died to the stacks, I refused to heal him at about 6 stacks and 10 warnings.
The tank only ate once at 2 stacks. I try to tell him to eat one, even talked french. "MANGE FRUIT"
First boss done without wiping. Thats a huge success. Second trash is much like the first trash. Just that the tank runs straight into those morbol egg things, slaps them once and then ignores em. I tried to kill those with energy drain and ruin spam. Mostly succeeded at it. Few still popped. Usually I just dot them and bane and it's guaranteed they die but not if that guy activates all of em, doesnt tank all mobs etcetcetc.
He got hit by bad breath constantly.
Coin counter. Not much to say, he didn't dodge. Both DPS died. The tank didn't get one shot gladly so it was him and me. since it's one target he could manage hate. He just never dodged but can't expect too much in a single day. The DPS said "why don't you rez"
"You're a waste of MP" "I saw you running around, not DPSing and yet still dying, thats why I wont raise you."
"So you're healer and you attack"
"I do my own job and I do your job better than you"
It's hilarious how coincounter started dropping HP once I decided to stop heal DPS and could just cleric stance. I also have to mention I DID RAISE THE DPS. Both at least once. But it's like, overhealing yknow. I saw them not doing any DPS. Next trash - see rant above.
Why am I still sticking to this group? Why ? My patience ended on the first trash, why am i still here???
Last boss. I bane the egg things, seemingly I'm the only one taking care of them. (I forgot the names) DRG got hit by a single bad breath. How even ?!?! Tank gets hit by every single bad breath. DRG stacks at 6. Tank gets bad breathed so he uses almost every fruit.
We finish.
I leave immediately.
I get my Zodiac drop

Doin' WP norm for a book. Should be easy, right? I mean, this is ancient content, right? I notice the two dps and tank are relevantly low gear, but hey, we did WP in Darklight and less back in the day. Figure, no problem.

Apparently Tonberry Stalker is our FRIEND. DPS and tank kept running into him despite me trying to show them the correct path.

DPS to slow to down small pulls before the Tonberry gets to us...okay, I swap to cleric and holy spam away.

Bavarian was the downfall. Apparently, I cannot do enough DPS to kill the adds and save the dps from getting eaten by the random target thing the boss does.

I had to vote abandon. I was ashamed.

It's never happened again so far, but my expectations of PUGs have been really low ever since that happened. This is why I'm not against the idea that the developers have been tossing around (mentioned in a news letter) about allowing players to bring NPC allies into dungeons with them.

Say what you will about NPC allies not being as smart as human players and how they "take away from the game being an MMO"... ... at least NPC allies don't try to deliberately troll you. (Nor good friends mind you, but Duty Roulette demands you land in PUGs all the time except for High and Expert Roulettes) I also still say that at the very least, they could change it so that you can enter all Duty Roulettes with pre-formed parties. Others around here may insist that'll defeat the "purpose" of Low Level, Trials, Main Scenario, and Heists Duty Roulettes, but after that run I had on Titan HM? I'd rather destroy "that purpose" and allow pre-formed parties for all Duty Roulettes.

I feel lucky in that the 24-man Raids I've participated in haven't been awful yet. However, the second time I did Sycrus, whoever decided to MT, on the (I think) final boss didn't wait, so one of the Alliances had their healers locked out.

Like geez, look at the map and make sure everyone is inside. We managed to carry that alliance, but, these are the kinds of things I'd sincerely love an raid-wide vote-kick for whoever did this.

Zenith BLM: "I'll open with Flare every time as soon as the fight starts and never use Quelling!"
Atma PLD: "I'll pull with Provoke and never use Flash every time! Better pop Hallowed and Sentinel at the same time to protect my teammates since I'm losing Enmity!"
Atma DRG: "I'll ignore mechanics and get our team killed every time! DPS? What's that? A WHM should totally match my output!"

Wiped to a divide and conquer approach to Wenches because the PLD wanted to hit a Wench, the BLM wanted to flare instantly, the DRG wanted to hit one Courtesan, and the PLD never provoked anything off anyone he lost threat on.
Wiped to Captain Musketeer because the PLD, who promised to pick up adds for the BLM to AoE, never touched the adds. The DRG tried to focus them one at a time during musket fire. I somehow survived one full 16-stack musket fire barrage with a wave of Drowned hitting me. Don't ask how.
PLD and DRG both ignored the Kraken Arm's despite instructions that they die first, and stood in the line of fire for every Ink Jet / Spray that came their way.

44 minutes in there. How I shudder.

Hmm bit weird for the gear we have now. Even with DL gear Holy just destroyed those adds and the random target thing when it pops up and he goes to chase them you just use fluid aura which pushes him away and binds him for a few seconds. By the time he's done he'll not have time in his cycle to do anything. A WHM has always been able to carry people on that boss. Unfortunately there is no way to help people who want to run into the stalker XD
