I don't get booted if i change classes or call my chocobo, I craft/gather while waiting on queues all the time. Unless you mean calling them as a party member, then yes it does, and I believe is getting changed this patch.

Is there someplace that lists changes coming out in this next patch? There's various posts scattered around (many of them in this thread and others scattered throughout other threads on the forums) that each mention a few changes, but are these being compiled together into a big list somewhere where we can look them up? So far I've only found an announcement that talks about major content updates, but not the sort of UI features discussed here, plus a lot of scattered posts if I happen to come across the right thread to see them.
Please allow us to stack our crafting items that are the same instead of them each taking up a single inventory slot.
I think that's the point. It would be nice to have a bullet list of everything that Devs have confirmed so far so people don't keep bringing up the same old stuff that is already in the works. Plus most of the stuff mentioned in the Live Letters are the major items that can be seen in the trailer. There are a lot of minor items that Camate has told us about that will not be mentioned in the Live Letter.
Status icons that tell us when we have gear that's broken or about to break would be nice to have again. I mean the yellow and red gear damage icons from version 1.
make it so when you tab target that the range is only 20-30 yalms distance and not 100 yalms including all 5000 mobs around the zone you just need to limit the range of targeting to close ranged area..
After coming back this month after being gone since the launch. I can still say that the cross hotbar sucks for controllers. I would really like an option to use a legacy hotbar for my controller usage so that I can play more efficiently.
I think this will be adressed in the upcoming patch, but inventory system in games is terrible. Older snes games have better inventory than this game!
It'll be nice to have the inventory menu similar to most ff games. I'm not sure why its so limited in the # of items you can carry... if it was due to a "weight" limit then I can understand, but as of now all the items you get/ store will result in a mess of a inventory that'll take you a while to organize yourself.
It'll be better if theres an option to have it in a list format
Devs - Have you confirmed you'll be looking at the target selection logic when tab targetting? I hate it when I want to tab target a mob close to me and right in the middle of screen, for my target selection to land on a mob miles away not even in the fight, off to the right/left and anywhere else except the actual mob I want.
Thanks
I would like to drop some points from my wishlist for FF XIV. These are about
DUNGEON FINDER AND GROUPING
1. You should be able to queue with all classes eligible for the selected dungeons. You should check which classes to queue (or maybe roles such as healer/DPS/tank).
2. You should be able to switch classes inside the dungeons. Often I know I could heal better and the healer would DPS better on some bosses.
3. When replenishing active dungeon group in the case that someone left new full search should commence with the ability to switch roles. For example if we lost a healer and I am a DPS having a healer offspec the DF should search for either healer or DPS. When the search is complete it tells who should switch to which roles (classes). The only difference from initial search is that you stay in the current instance.
4. We should be able to use /tell inside dungeons and be able to communicate with outside world. It is absolutely nonsense that we get isolated from the rest of the server and even can't have a private discussion inside! One of the main reasons of MMO being that successful in the modern world is their social aspect. Isolating players is one of my main concerns!
5. When queueing DF we should be able to select gameplay style. Something like one of the following: Speedrun, normal run, Roleplay (view all cutscenes etc). This would remove currently observed conflicts on the matter. If you selected Speedrun cutscenes should be disabled during dungeon.
6. You should be able to invite someone from outside into your group and he should be able to join your instance. This is a must have feature and I can't get why it is not there in the first place.
P.S. The main issue the game currently has is boss ability/telegraph lags. This should have highest priority over any other changes as it renders the game nearly unplayable on the raiding level for many, many people especially in EU.
P.P.S. And remove the damned 1000 char limit on posts!
I would like it if I could keep my minion out while I have another summon out (chocobo, pet, other). I hate how I can barely ever have a minion out because I'm pretty much always on my chocobo or have my chocobo out as a companion, or have a pet summoned.
The whole player base is flawed.**
The more they adjust the targeting system the less it makes sense to me.
Prior to any adjustments i could easily target my desired target... with gamepad mind you. Now they have been making adjustments only 70% of the time i'm getting the correct target. I believe it was camera/character based. Whichever target was directly in front of my character was easily targeted.. which makes perfect sense. Now i believe its only character based and the closest target is now my target so even if its nearly out of my camera, if its the closest it gets targeted.. this makes no sense.
Please people ....
(Note i utilize the filter system.. its there.. everyone else might find it useful too...)
Like to see option to players use /seek which is basically a shout in different color but its pretty much LFM. Maybe another color for LFG. That way can tell them apart better.
I would love to have personal bazaars back so I could sell items like Garuda's Feather with out having to shout all the time.
I disagree. I think the cross hotbar is fantastic. You would be way too slow if they set the controller interface to the way it was in 1.0.
Since getting used to the cross hotbar, I now prefer a controller to mouse & keyboard. Where it really shines is on things like tanking Titan HM, where you need precise positioning to avoid bombs.

In regards to the movement lock for the chat log, we will be placing this in our task list with other log window edits (transparency settings, etc.), and will be addressing them all after patch 2.2.
Need this before 2.2.. People who doesn't use voice chat, rely heavily on chat log, lots of people miss chat log because of its transparency. This, in my humble opinion, should be top priority. Thank you.
I miss being able to get critical results on repairs. (Result: Doesn't consume the material you used.)
about Vote Kicking. i have seen some people mention things like not being able to kick while in a cut-scene. well this is not too good i think. cause they can just wait for you to finish the cut-scene.
what i think is better. is have some kind of way to determine if the player has ever finished the dungeon or not. if the player has never FINISHED the dungeon. the player should be considered a first time player there. and should be given some sort of protection against being kicked. of course to only a certain extent.
like maybe make so you can only kick the player after they have died once or twice. or make it so you can kick the player after they go AFK for like 2 or 3 minutes. or both. and there may be other ideas. i just don't know them.
either way even if the player gets kicked they should not be considered a returning player. and still be considered a first time player in that instance. they should be considered a first time player to that instance until they have fully finished the dungeon.
cause i mean watching the cinematic is part of the game. part of the experience. and they are there for a reason. a player as the RIGHT to watch those cut-scenes or cinematic. this isn't a privilege. it's a right. the game designers and developers make the videos for our entertainment.(of course entertainment in its self is a privilege. but if you are already allowed to play the game then the player has the right to chose how they wish to enjoy the content.) and it is a players right to choose to enjoy the game the way the developers intended it to be enjoyed.
so the whole necessity for actually finishing the dungeon to no longer be considered a first timer there is to allow us the right which no one should be able to take away. everyone deserves a chance at things, but... is ONE chance all the players really deserve?
in any case... something to give first time players in each dungeon some little bit of extra protection against be kicked would be ideal.
Please make it so that teleport confirmation window doesn't have focus when it appears!
I can't tell you how many times I go to turn in the items for an item turn-in FATE at the last few seconds and hit enter and someone teleports right then and it teleports me away from my XP!
Agreed. In more general terms, it should apply to any pop-up window. Anything that comes up when we didn't ourselves manually select to open it should not be given focus.
I've teleported accidentally before. I've turned down a trade request accidentally when someone was trying to give me a gift. (That time I was actually trying to respond thanking him for the offer, but instead of going to chat to send my message, the Enter went to the trade window as it opened and turned down the trade I was trying to accept.) I've also turned down invites accidentally. (At least I think it was an invite to something. I didn't really even get time to see the message of what it was the system turned down.)
If we didn't manually open something, then don't give it focus until we manually go to it.
Today it happened to me that an RMT spammed me with /tell messages and then he instantly logged out making it impossible to /blist add <r> him in time.
Please make it so that you can blacklist offline people too. It gets annoying with RMTs
Please take away 'The' from dungeons listed in the auto-translate dictionary! It makes more sense to type 'Aurum' for Aurum Vale and hit tab than it does to type 'The' and scroll through all the dungeons listed that way. Thanks!
Please add the cooldown on obtaining Timeworn Treasure Maps to the Timers list.
People are really happy with the Duty Roulette. I know you said that it will be changed but this change can't happen quick enough.
I only play with my wife. So the system, the extra gil, extra myth, are all lost to us.
This is going to force us to do that many more runs for gil/myth then anyone playing solo. And what we can contribute to our FC is lost because we aren't getting that extra gil.
I love what you guys did with the teleport list. I love seeing the zone next to the name, but I have one nitpick about it. Right now it is listed as [Zone][Area][Price]. Could it instead be [Area][Zone][Price]? I'm more focused on what area I'm going to and that is augmented by knowing what zone it is. I generally don't enter the teleport list looking for a zone first and then determining what town that is. Make it feel weird when I'm using the list.
Greetings,
The development team understands that there have been requests to mark the ground and that this would be a convenient feature to coordinate strategy and positioning during battle. This has even been brought up by the development team as an idea; however, they’d like to look into this carefully while keeping an eye on battle balance as it could influence the difficulty level of content.
Please let us see Sacred Soil/Shadowflare on "limited effects" view. :( To see them now in patch 2.1, I now have to turn on full effects for me and my party members. This can literally be blinding and death inducing, in the case of Limit Break 3 from a SMN or BLM.
It's nice that the crafting window will now show us both the number of NQ and the number of HQ items we have, but can we please get that info put into the item's tooltip window that we can see from anywhere? When I'm gathering, I want to know the total number of a given resource that I've gathered so far, but the tooltip only shows the number of NQ ones. When I'm selecting quest rewards, browsing NPC vendors, or checking the market board, I want to know if I already have an item, but the tooltip only shows me whether I have the NQ version of the item. Please add the number of HQ items to where the item tooltip already shows the number of NQ ones.
