Wait, wait, wait.... hard core and casual how do you define these things?
Who gets the best gear should NOT having everything to do with some end game group time sink activity. There are lots of hardcore players that just don't have time for that kind of thing. Not to say that that shouldn't exist for people that are in to that. But, there should be rewards for skilled people without a lot of time too. Maybe time in small installments, but not some four hour per night twice a week thing.
The mindless be there all the time mentality and endgame point systems need to die.
Seeing posts where more time is equivalent to better gear is nonsense. I'm for more difficult/challenging not more time.
I totally agree, and in a perfect world where everyone was honest and helpful, this would work.
But people are munchwipes. Without forcing a degree of commitment from your LS members, you will be bombarded with people who will show up only for what they want, and will never be seen again.
I believe the smaller party sizes is Yoshida's way of trying to detract from this. It's a lot easier to find 7 other people you know you can trust to not screw you over than it is to find 20, or 30.
you can still do that w/o forcing anything, you guys take mmorpg which are games too seriously. I was in a endgame shell that never forced ppl to go, and we had huge turn outs. Its a game to have fun, if people don;t want to go to every run on something don;t force it, you don;t need to do runs every run session. The gear will always be there.
if you force people to do events, they will feel the game is a second job. I had parties in ffxi get disbanded because people got forced to go to dynamis.
I only did end game just to have fun, I didn't care if I got rewarded or not.
I see no point in stressing over gear. Or end game, or who can do end game or how long the even is.
ya DCUO is an example of that. It takes 3-7 daus to hit max cap of 30. And the game hasn't been out long and people already have a "gearscore" mentality on there. Max cap is 30 but you can't do raids unless you have xyz gear. Or else you are worthless and leeching and are not helping anyone out.
First of all Hi everyone.
I would like to explain why I don't agree with this, but with my rusty english, it will be a little complicated.
I don't think the difference between casuals & hardcore should be in the "awesome gear" , in other words in the quality, but in the quantity.
I mean. A casual will more oftenly play in the evening.
In my opinion, he should be able to have for his time of playing, a possibility to up "fast".
So a ring XP with some charges seems good.
A ring with for example 3 charges (is this english?), a charge can work for one hour. and give exp +100%.
With this, there is no word of "fatigue" (is fatigue english?)
In this case casuals have a bonus when they play
An Hard core gamers have a a normal xp in their "bonus" time.
Now, lets speak about items.
I think a casual should have for at least one job "ubber armors"
If he doesn't have the time to farm money.
He should be able to "buy" "super stuff" with instance's points
As instances are often in evening, by being in regulary, he will have what he want.
Thanks for reading
sorry for mistakes
hoping everyone can have his own fun \o/
