Hi Rowyne,
You're too kind. :) I just hope SE reads this thread and gets some ideas out of it.

To supplement and reinforce Kiara's quote on this page, I'd like to repost:
All zones in this game can easy be divided into at least 5 sections per. At least. That could mean as many as 20 unique zones, 5 unique to the region they belong to.
Including Mor Dhona, it can be so many unique experiences and milestones for us as adventurers.
Eorzea's lacking in progression and unique experiences - a true array of choices.
But she's not lacking in size. And she's not lacking in potential.
Amen! We believe in you Square Enix! Make some breathtaking places
so how many likes and views and posts and pages do we need to get a freakin dev in here....and how many to get the crown thing? ive seen a post with 1/3 of the like and no where close to the amount of likes and its got a damn crown thingy.
For things to work they would need to do quite a bit of re-orginizing and full on changing of zones. Its kind of sad that they really should of just tossed out like 80% of what this game was. SO much is being changed its almost like making it from scratch (keep the basic bones of course) would have almost been a better idea, they are practically doing that anyway.
If anything, i could add this thing is Do what FFXI went for, even out the main citys, make they decently apart from each other, the main hub city and from higher end zones, FFXi did it well, and they could do it better here if they wanted.
And if fully agree with the music bit, it really got to yah in XI, my friend still rages when he hears the Sandy zone music....while it just makes me nostalgic.
Impressive, Siobu. Your medal count clearly do not do you enough credit. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through all 38 pages of this thread, and I am convinced that you are quite right. And I believe that any member of the Community or Development Team that reads through this thread will also be convinced that solving this problem, and specifically implementing the solutions suggested here will bring a new excitement to FFXIV that it is been missing since Closed Beta. It will also help address the issues of party dynamics, lack of world exploration, and general boredom currently present.
It would be very wise for the Development Team to work on this as soon as they have finished work on Battle Adjustments and Core Programming.
the crown just means a Dev commented in the thread. So they go hand in hand :)
Wynn, thanks for your thoughts! I am definitely behind you.
Zanfire, we're definitely an elephant in a room, I believe. Hopefully we've not gone unnoticed. I know how hard it is to keep such a topic like this going for so long, especially when there's no arguing, disagreements, or debates taking place.
Sorel, thank you so much! I'm glad to have people daring enough to trek through such a long thread.
When writing a novel, or an essay, the first sentence is always the hardest! But after that, the ball doesn't stop rolling.
I strongly believe that if the world of Eorzea can be addressed, everything else will flow together naturally. Eorzea will flourish.
Well said. Looking at the pre-release videos, it seems that environmental variety was something they aimed for, but for whatever reason, it didn't materialize as planned.

You're spot on with the comments about the lack of monster variety, too. I made similar remarks in the monster suggestion thread.Quote:
"We designed vistas of contrasting altitudes and carefully placed light sources to prevent scenery from becoming repetitive"
It's sad how the monster variety didn't pan out like they hoped.

This next video in particular shows the ability of the engine to create many varied designs quickly, but for some reason that hasn't been the case in reality, either.

One would think that slight visual modifications for the monsters using this technology would be easy to do...
