This is what Yoshi said (according to the translators):
Let's break this down.Quote:
Here's the title screen, new and improved with a "beta version" tag. The BGM has been changed as well...another little tidbit to look forward to.
We note here a change to the title screen. This change is the new BETA logo.Quote:

But the next sentence suggests that there has been more than one change made to the TITLE SCREEN. Pay attention to the next few words:
Again, look closely:Quote:
The BGM has been changed as well
As well means, "in additon to" or "also". Essentially, "In addition to the ALPHA logo being changed to the BETA logo on the title screen, the BGM music OF THE TITLE SCREEN has been changed". This is what the sentence breaks down to. Thus we can safely conclude that the BGM changed and noted here is none other than the ear-shattering BGM music of the TITLE SCREEN previous.Quote:
as well
That isn't to argue that other BGM haven't been altered, but that Yoshi was referring to the title screen BGM specifically in this post.
This was a major complaint by players and so it makes sense that they would change it.
:D :D :D
:O sorry couldn't help but wanna stalk what's the fortune Yoshi-P got... I was lucky to find this...(this is assume his real one is in the back of the #99 one. this #48 also match what he said "small blessing" one)

oh forgot to direct translate (from chinese) Yoshi-P's fortune... it's so true....
"Seeing fortune but blocked by a river"
"Tired heart rest but lost further more"
"One day meet nice boat"
"(blue and gold 2 phoenix liked birds) phoenixs fly into clouds" the 2 phoenix liked birds together also in chinese means people with good abilities.
Direct translation is so hard... but the small English translation is very fit too :D
about that "M" project manager's fortune...

The direct translation (from chinese tho) is:
"Red Sun right on Door Shinning" Dalamut!
"Darken Moon again Round" ... A realm reborn!
/bigclap
So happy XD
Great read. Super excited for Beta!! ^^
You know what? I greatly respect Noaki Yoshida. He has the same values I have.
I wonder what notes were swapped over Yoshi's dinner with his two guests? Yoshi seems to have an interest in western mmos.
Female Roegadyn are every bit as ugly as their male counterpart. :o
this is why ^^::::: #7

awwww... just went to stalk who is this person... Nobuaki Komoto (I think) one of the former ff14 director...
now I think this drawing thing is very accurate.... poor guy...
"The Lalafell looking adorable as always, but don't count them out in PvP."
Maybe we'll get pvp sooner than we thought =o
All the primal are free they no longer need crystal to stay on our world. Seeing how in 2.0 primal would be roaming around eorzea if we find them we get a party together and you attack him and you be teleport to the area you fight ifrit. If your ls/free company win you then have to fill up a bar "Still unknown on what you have to do to fill the bar" Once that bar is fill you can summon Ifrit in battle the ls/free company can then set the rules on who can use ifrit it's a one summon type deal once he summon the world would turn i guessing red or w/e and everyone would known ifrit have been summon.
Once he been summon him and he gone he free once more to walk around eorzea. Then other free company/ls can get him your free company would be on cool down but you still can gain the power of the other primal. You also have 1week or w/e time limit they set to fill the bar and use ifrit or he be release so i guess you have to fill that up quick then set a date asap to fight a very hard boss like odin or something so you can use ifrit before your time is up.
Lass.
On a serious note, I may have to consider switching from midlander to highlander. Definitely will have to test it out though and see it in action, one screenshot isn't enough. Need to know how they /dance and other emotes, looks like they even have slightly different RSE.
Although I won't be playing one, I'm impressed with how female Roegadyns turned out. Concept art made them seem perhaps a little too burly but they worked in some sleeker lines quite nicely. I wonder how much of an option there will be for bulk, seeing as how Merlwyb is a Roe but also quite slender.
When it comes to the benchmark screen though, one thing that does concern me is the lighting. It looks to me like whatever glare effects are going on are washing out the colors and reducing contrast... hopefully it's just a still-frame effect and not something noticed while actually running the game.
This is exactly what you did, and always do, as usual.
Indeed:Quote:
There's a large difference between "being able to compete and capture western audiences" and "making a generic western MMORPG"
Oh I'm sorry, you're right, I said Generic MMORPG in that post. I mean how else would they capture the audiences besides making it a standard MMO?
Keep on twisting people's words around to fit your agenda, as you say.
Unfortunately for you no, considering I quoted you word by word. You're the one that used the definition "standard western MMORPG".
Can't really accuse anyone of warping anything when they call you on your seething and illogical negativity by quoting the exact words you spout.
That's evident, but thanks.
By making it a good MMO. Which is what Dark Age of Camelot was, without being in any way "standard", like anyone that played it or even read about it (and doesn't talk out of the wrong orifice) would know.Quote:

Oh, I don't have an agenda. I'm not the one that stays here only to bash the game.Quote:

Your Tiger-style is no match for my White Crane! En garde!
I'm really starting to worry about the health of 2.0. Every time I come here I imagine new players walking into the forums for the first time on opening day and....
Lots of "pot calling the kettle black" going on in here. . . .
Except no one said what you're accusing of. You stated that, not me. You decided to attack me out of the blue.
Except no one was being negative. Why else would you swap notes with western/eastern developers? They know their markets. Yoshida's own words was he felt they should take WoW and merge it with FF, which people consider "the global standard" and pretty much what everyone follows since. Unless you happened to forget that he's met with Blizzard as well.Quote:
If you didn't continue to spout unwarranted negativity based on hot air, people wouldn't attack what you say.
You use the wording "standard western MMORPG", which Dark Age of Camelot isn't (nor is Warhammer Online), and A Realm Reborn isn't as well.
There's no "out of the blue". You said something utterly nonsensical and fairly ignorant, and got called on it.
You completely misrepresented Yoshida's words.Quote:

Looking at what the competition does, which is indispensible to cultivate one's market awareness, doesn't in any way imply doing something "standard". Which ARR isn't anyway, as everything we've seen so far clearly shows.
...The whole "standardizing" the game deal came from Yoshida himself. It's been said in plenty of interviews since forever. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.
Nope, his statement was regarding how XI took EQ and felt that they should do the same thing with WoW, and the evidence is at your finger tips. He stated this because gamers and developers have said they consider WoW the global standard of MMOs now because of how Blizzard streamlined certain aspects. Whether you agree or not, these are words said throughout the past decadeish.
So in other words, every developer that states they should be aware and observe their competition (including SE) were incorrect?Quote:

Everything shown so far they're observing the competition very closely.Quote:
