Entrance fee into realm reborn, all your gils.
But SE -NEEDs- to hire an economist, video game economies are little real world examples. We really need to keep the barrier of entry to a minimum otherwise casuals and newcomers will be put off - and may quit depending on what has been effected. And this affects hardcore players as SE will have less money and less encouragement to put in the full 100% work force.
Also has anyone had confirmation if they are reducing the digit point or if they are reducing your whole gil amount. Those are two very separate things, one says move your money to your retainers and be safe - the other is inescapable (minus buying products).
Or they could, you know, hotfix the prices of what dawn drops sell for.
See below:
This is introducing way too much money into the economy and as others have mentioned, prices for things such as weapons needed for the relic quest are skyrocketing. I hope SE is going to do something in addition to the lowering of the max gil cap. I don't want to see prices go all crazy like they did in FF11 back in the day.
You only had to look a few post down

1/10th
Yes but the reason prices are skyrocketing isn't because people are buying and selling dawn drops. Its because no one is doing anything but the damn event so there is absolutely no supply of anything and demand is skyrocketing. There are only 5 avengers on the AH right now on Gungnir, and only one of them isn't melded. There are 6 sarngas. As for the other ones that still have a decent supply the price has stayed relatively the same. There is actually a Rampager up right now that is even cheaper than what they were selling for last week before the event.
I don't know about other servers, but if you can find me a relic prereq weapon that has a good supply of them available up for 50 mil then I will cave to your mentality that it is all the dawn drops fault.
1/10 is misleading, it's more like 9/10ths
Guess we'll just have to see if/when the event ends and if people start moving more weapons into the market. I know there are people on my server that play for great lengths at a time and will put in the time to milk this for what they can. They're also the type of people if they have the money at their disposal that they'll do every single relic they can before November 1st.
Edit: Just read through the JP>Eng translation where they're saying 1/10th
Really? you might want to edit this..

It will become "How to make 1 Million in a day".
And all gil values, even the amount you are currently holding, will be reduced to 10%
How is that doing it wrong? Because I didn't stop to do atomos? Thats irrelevant to how much time it takes to make NEW gil off this event. If I was selling them on MW for gil, that's not creating new gil, that's merely circulating gil which has no effect on the economy.
anyone farming gil for 16 hours a day has already lost at life: you win the game by default
They reduce everything
And to the people who think they can just buy wrapped arrows to keep the amount of gil:
Quote:
Items sold at 1 digit gil will be adjusted in 2.0 or destroyed.
(For those items that will be destroyed the gil will automatically returned but even at that time the amount returned will be 1/10's of current value)
Prices on Durandal are already getting out of hand fossilissed matter jumped from 6k to 50k in a day cobalt arrows went from 50 gil to over 1k in hours and are still climbing. With each passing day it becomes more and more necessary to join into the spam fest. Pretending that just because something is boring will stop them from doing it is a joke at best when you can just make a keyboard macro and afk for infinite money while you do anything else. This needs to be stopped and fast, the longer it goes on the worse off the repercussions of it are be that lose of advancement because we all got rolled back or having to put up with an economy that basically makes it impossible for a new player or a player with low gil to get anywhere.
They should probably decrease our money more then they are decreasing the whole market - as there will be a barrier to entry otherwise (of course then people will stock up on items lol).
If only they had the economic know how to know when to roll back changes or stop actions asap we really wouldnt even need all this.
;~; I'm still hopeful.
You messed up your math there buddy. It only takes 150 seals to buy a stack of dawn drops.
150 seals = 1 stack for 12.6k
1500 seals = 10 stacks for 126k
15000 seals = 100 stacks for 1.26 million.
Every crystal is worth about 20k if you were to convert it into dawn drops at a rate of 1 crystal being 250 seals and 4 being 1000. The person that you sold those 11 crystals to made about 100k off you.
This seems like one of those news reports where they spend 20 mins talking on national news about how shitty security is at nuclear plants or something. SO maybe like 5 people with ill intentions knew about this before the news report but after it like 1000's knew, so you essentially took something that was kind of bad and made it a million times worse instead of better.
Still though, the current servers economies were already a joke. Level 20 items selling for 50k each? Yeah, that encourges new players to want to go do stuff. The only chance new players in 2.0 will have, even well before this atomos thing, was to start on one of the brand new servers they are creating for ps3 players. The box should come with a damn warning about the existing servers economy heh.
You do realize it doesn't take that much time to convert a round of Atomos into Dawn drops right. You can easily convert a full runs worth long before the next run rolls around for almost double your net profit, that is a huge part of why this is bad in the first place >.>.
