It's always funny to see FFXIV players explain why their game is so much better than all those other free games full of microtransactions as if the mog shop doesn't get more updates than the actual game.

Either you live in a world where the Rowena hairstyle doesn't exist at all - or - you live in a world where the Rowena hairstyle exists for $5 on the Mog Station. You didn't have it before and you might still not have it if you don't want to part with $5 for it. It is an option you can take. It isn't much different than the vanity plate on a car. It makes your car "unique." At least I'd be the only one with YOSHISUX as opposed to hundreds of people with the Rowena haircut.

Corporations are people, and many people are poor. Square Enix Co., Ltd. is one of those poor people. $5 is enough for one person to avoid starvation for an evening. Why don't you care about the health and well-being of all those selfless poor souls at Square Enix?

yea true but it started with that. i still remember people throwing arbitrary numbers out like 20 bucks for a fantasia and all that and other stuff. Alot of people where against it then warning what would happened and here we are.

It will 100% have more QoL, and probably more updates and fixes. It's run by the chinese, especially if the chinese "Yoshi P" is any part of it. He was already critizising that FFXIV needs to innovate and change up.
I wouldnt be surprised if the mobile version proves to be the superior version lol. Not that I will play it, but it will be hilarious to watch.

It already has better QoL features and netcode lmao. They even have a proper glamour journal like WoW does. PC players has to go activate 20 different things in SimpleTweak just to get the very basic stuff.

And you need to understand, Larian is a huge exception to this, I am not saying companies like such don't exist or even they aren't high profile, I am saying that in the number of companies that are like that is very low in their ecosystem.

Do not misunderstand my words as "They are doing the best possible for profits", I am saying that corporations act like that because they feel this is the best possible for profits, so much of corporatism is vibes-based bullshit led by Liches with misplaced phylacteries, and very often do not reflect reality, much like how they now have a hard line stance against remote work because they feel like it could lead to employees "cheating" them out of wages, with a lot of evidence pointing to the contrary, however, this type of behavior also makes them extremely predictable, with very sparse variants.

As long as they don't sell Pay to Win more then they already do. I'm all for people spending more money.

I have never paid extra for this game. But many people will likely people like you who clearlly really want that hair cut.

League had been around since 2009 and only recently started doing $500 skins, and has as of the past few weeks removed a ton of free options for players.

I'm sure those players were thinking "it's been over 10 years, they won't do this to us"

FOMO item. This will be on the cash shop by this time next year, like all "free" event items.

Subscribing now and getting a limited-time outfit is better than buying it from the store later for $15. People who subscribe due to FOMO give SE money. People who buy the outfit later give SE (more) money.

Meanwhile, we got 1 Alliance Raid and 1 dungeon in eight months.

SE is a godsend among MMOs so fair balanced and perfect. We should be thankful and donate more. And stop criticism

They are trying to make more money since players are slowly leaving to where healing matters and playing healer is fun.

Playing Healer in WoW is nowhere near that fun.
