Titanman did do something like this before.

It would be nice if they paused sub times during maintenance.
It made sense last expansion, because the devs were completely unprepared with the influx of players coming to play Endwalker. Other than that, this is normal each time we jump expansions. Shadowbringers took 2 days to drop. I don't see a difference.
Losing a dollar's worth of playtime shouldn't be a big deal.
It is in the Terms of Service that you agreed on when you first started playing the game.
Use those 48 hours to come up with better bait.
Most Terms of Service contain lots of ridiculous and near-unintelligible clauses that all boil down to end-users having no rights whatsoever.
No smart person would agree to any of those ToS if there were realistic alternatives. There isn't, so everyone just clicks "Ok" without reading all the bullshit legalese.
Most of the ToS out there ought to be illegal. But until we get a sane world to live in, that won't happen.
What a bizarre request XD :o
He's got a point though. You're paying for nothing. The excuse for the extended downtime is laughable too.
You might be paying for nothing. I'm paying for access to the game servers when they're not down for maintenance.
Considering how little $15 will buy these days, the servers could only be online 5 days a week every week and it would still be a good value. Much better than going to a cinema where the $15 gets you about 20 minutes of advertising and 100 minutes of a movie.
Not a good value in your opinion? Then spend the $15 elsewhere.
So do the developers ignore this forum or something?
There is not a single response to my request for refund from the devs. I looked at other threads and none of them have dev responses either.
I really don't want to ask my credit card bank for a chargeback but I think at this point I will need to if I'm going to get my $0.9 back.
Chloe
because not enough people are demanding one
They should. I don't know why people are all defending the game. It benefits us if we get a refund or an extension.
If my personal trainer needs a "maintenance" and isn't available he will reschedule or just not charge me. But why is it OK for the game to charge us when we can't even play? Makes no sense.
Chloe
Should get 2 days game play added. Because of Visa cards not going though I have to use 30-day game cards. That means now I only get to use 28 days of it.
If you're not happy about it, make a ticket to support and see if they will do anything for you, as opposed to posting on a player forum.
If they refuse, you can always cancel your sub and stop playing if it affronts you so much. Alternatively, you can seek remediation or remuneration through other means. I'd suggest speaking to legal counsel or a consumer advice organisation in this aspect.
Seems the most obvious solutions.
I'd also advise carefully reading any contracts or terms that you sign/accept so that you understand the conditions of the agreement going forward.
LMAO Rip BOZO, Pack watch.
Why bait like this?
My post is as dreary and as silly as the ask, please reply and defend your ask to add more dull to my day and this silly thread.

So I don't see a problem there. It's neccesary.Quote:
5. INTERRUPTION TO THE SERVICE
From time to time, in order to provide our customers with the optimal gaming experience, it is necessary for Square Enix to conduct routine maintenance on the computers and/or servers that support the Game. During these times, access to the Game or support services may be interrupted. Access may also be temporarily suspended in whole or in part, without notice, due to emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God, or by any other causes beyond Square Enix's control, or any other reasons for which Square Enix, in its sole discretion, deems that temporary suspension is necessary. You acknowledge that disruptions of service may occur and waive any causes of action against Square Enix in any way arising from or related to any such disruptions of service.
You won't get a refund for the time sleeping / working too ;)
Wish granted:
The subscription fee is now $30 per month though.
this must be your first expansion release. Boy are you in for a treat when the maintenance ends. Then you'll be lucky to log in at all. :D
while i will say it is agreed by you when you accept to the terms and conditions, for longer periods of maintenance i do think it would be fair for them to put a pause on active subscriptions and then unpause them after such periods so for example if your subscription was to originally end on like the 29th for example but your access to their service was suspended for a period of 3 days or more then your end date should then be pushed to the 1st or 2nd of the next month to account for those days you paid for etc.
I just bough sub today, so I saved few cents. Sadly I could not upgrade the patch without sub.
I agree with OP, but :
It's in the TOS (I agree it should be changed)
It's only less than a dollar, I'd say half of it since you're sleeping half of the time and your sub is still going while you're sleeping, but I understand what you're asking for, it's more emblematic than the amount itself
I don't understand why people are so mad at OP and not able to understand a so simple statement, I think it's better to ignore than to hate and judge that way
Even if I understand OP's position, I think that's a lost cause, OP is wasting time and energy and should ignore this topic from now on
Pretty much every other subscription based MMO I've played has at some point in the past credited actively subscribed members for lost playtime when an extended service outage occurs. I recall it not being uncommon for Blizzard when it came to WoW, even when the outages were expected due to extended maintenance periods or patches that took a while.
So while SE is technically within their right to do nothing, in my opinion I find it distasteful from a customer service perspective for them to just pocket the difference. Especially when they're expecting us to fork over $40 for Dawntrail at the same time.
I'm not by any means mad about it, I just think it's poor form for a service provider.
