You want to see bad community support go play another MMO.
The only thing you get banned for in FFXIV is for being a tiny tiny little bit rude, anything else is rampant, be it RMT or botting, might be a good idea to stop coping
also FFXIV is by far the absolute worst customer support I have seen from any game in any category, its atrocious, it actually is worse than WoW's somehow, which really is something because WoW's is really bad.
How dare you all question our doritos pope Geoff Videogames! /s
- Need to wait until maintenance to see any job changes, what they put in the liveletters is vague at best unless it's an "emergency" rework
- Need to wait until Media Tour to see how jobs will be changing mechanically at all before expansion launches. Which is ALSO something reserved for content creators and they are put on NDA until X date, then we need to wait until Early-Access launch maintenance to see the finalized versions on the job guides
- Asked for feedback on the Kaiten removal, got massive backlash for it with people still mentioning wanting it back to this day, and they still haven't said jack shit about it despite asking for it
- Consider the current relics as only being acquired through tomes a good thing despite surmounts of players giving feedback voicing the opposite because "more people are getting them", which does NOT clearly indicate player satisfaction.
- With feedback since the FIRST criterion dungeon STILL have not added any meaningful rewards in Criterion Normal, and locked the tome weapon augment behind Criterion Savage, which requires that you ALSO have the tome weapon augmented from Savage Raiding
- Responded with "Go play ultimate" to genuine Healer feedback that has been repeated since Shadowbringers
- The game itself is, to this day 10 years later, still a pain in the arse to even start playing for new players about to start the game for the first time on PC
But yes, please show me the door to the fantasy world you live in where they are being transparent
This is a good list.
I have a few:
Onsal Hakair Paladin exploit/bug that they let sit for like 6-7 months with zero communication on whether it was even intended or not. They only fixed it when JP started complaining about it too.
The portrait system still being barely functional despite supposedly wanting feedback from the beta. They just remade the system entirely, threw out all the feedback, and made it worse.
Endwalker queues kicking people out. They just kept blaming it on everyone else until they got shamed into fixing it by someone proving it was a bug in their code.
Their continual insistence the netcode of the game is fine and ignoring feedback related to it.
The list can probably go on and on. They straight up have stopped listening to the community and deflect blame at any opportunity or just complain that anything people want is too hard to do. Most of the QOL we got this patch cycle they've always claimed wasn't possible or was too hard until someone went and proved they were just flat out wrong. They basically had to be embarrassed into adding it.
Were they working on some of these things beforehand? It's possible. We wouldn't know because they never communicate it.
Best ongoing it got my voice, but best support I voted for BG3.
I mean...we are waiting HOW LONG for hats for Viera???????? Since Shb???? About 4 years now and still nothing.
Also it's a big mystery for me how they COULDN'T fix massiv broken Elezen necks in 10 years. x3
And this are by far not the only things where they ignored us or stay silent.
No..., no support vote for FF14. :x
RPG genre is basically a video game adaptation of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Over the years of many derivative works, game developers focused on the different versions of the genre.
Action RPG puts more emphasis on real-time combat, whether that is as a dungeon-crawler, hack-and-slash, or first-person shooter. Games similar to Diablo or Secret of Mana are considered action RPGs. It is not unreasonable to think of Souls-likes as a sub-genre of action RPG.
You mention Borderlands, but that game is basically a very shallow, derivative version of Diablo with guns. There is also a Dark Souls with guns game called Remnant (which is better than Borderlands imho). Funnily enough, Borderlands and Dark Souls both have tabletop RPGs you can purchase now.
I like Final Fantasy and other jRPGs, but I also understand it is a different experience than the cRPGs I played like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KotOR, Wasteland, Fallout I & II, etc.
no votes from me until they fix most basic and embarrassing broken features like Portraits being reset with no reasons.
To me it's hard to justify an award for a game who was just fine and took absolutely no risks... (FF16)
Side note : a good community support has nothing to do with obeying all requests. Unpopular opinion : I don't kriffing care about viera's hat, apparently it's a little complex to fix and if it's going to take time, I'd rather have a gameplay rework or something like that. Something which actually matter for all the community. Not only to the few of us who play viera.

I can provide responses with less than 0 substance too
While it is nice to see some of my favorite games get nominated; i'm just hoping for weird stuff to happen (again), it's the only reason i watch.
Though this year the viewership numbers are going to be probably unusually high; the first GTA6 trailer is being shown this year.
Exactly, brave CBU3 Devs dared to go off the wall in 2023 by:
Copy and pasting a new deep dungeon
Wasting resources on variant dungeons that nobody will play after patch month
Making a bad animal crossing knock off
Fall guys.......
Like im genuinely looking back on 2023 for FFXIV and it fills me with second-hand embarrassment at how many poor decisions were made and how little was accomplished.
At the start of endwalker I was genuinely in love with this game, now I'm contemplating quitting forever come Dawntrail.
This is only true until it's not. This type of response is incredibly common across all MMOs and you can find out how that eventually went for them. Sometimes people come back, but when stuff gets ignored and they move on is when games die.
FFXIV's fanbase is really quick to dismiss any criticism or complaining, but they don't realize that people care enough to complain. The problem is when they stop caring and just leave.
I'm sad to report this is exactly how I'm feeling. It feels as if the developers just fell deaf for the entire expansion.
They ask us for feedback but give us no way to submit any. They don't appear to read the forums, seeing as of how much of a dumpster fire it is. Feedback is a privilege reserved to content creators and even they do not receive any responses beyond "eh maybe"
What is there to be excited about anymore? It feels like I'm just waiting to see what disappointment they churn out next.
"Best community support" Lmao that has to be a joke. When is the last time anyone has seen a community manager or anyone post on here?
I think that's par the course with CM's for MMOs.
The CM of the game I used to play was actually quite unpleasant on the very rare occasions he did bother to interact. Sarcastic, disinterested, defensive, crap at his job (spellcheck was too much effort for him) and had very little real knowledge of the game he was CM for.
Where? Genuinely where is this the case? On these forums saying anything even remotely positive about the game gets you called a shill and a white knight, Reddit is entirely people complaining between fan art posts, same with Twitter.
Where is this mythical place where all criticism is shut down instantly? Even earlier in this thread I said FFXIV had a great track record on patch consistency despite its other flaws and I was called a white knight trying to say this game had no flaws.
Deadass though, the forums for this game are almost getting as bad as the ones for WoW with all the doomsday shiz and just complaining in an echo chamber.
It really doesnt. Its just the other side of people lacking a backbone and feel like they need to validate themselves somehow that "oh its just them".
Its a lot more open to criticize the game and not get shit for it than saying something positive and being called a shill.
If you think this is bad, check out the discussion subreddit, that sub is an echo chamber of people who exclusively play Savage and Ultimate. It seems like every other day they're having a meltdown about something related to Eureka or the 2 minute meta and talking about how it's so over if SE doesn't change course immediately.
