I find it funny that people think hiding your character on the Rising Phoenix is "laziness" or "cutting corners" for some reason. It's a reskin of an existing mount. All of the character poses for riding it already exist. They just decided for whatever reason to have players "become" the Phoenix instead of riding it. It's arguably a weird choice, but there's no corner cutting involved.

Personally I think they should've let us carry another player while turned into the Phoenix, making it effectively a two-seater, but no such luck.

Becoming a two seater mount would also fit with the theme of the storyline.

It's lazy because it's a bad reused asset mount. It takes substantially less effort and manhours to create something like this, than it does a mount with a unique model and custom animations. They're on two layers of reuse, given that this enemy archetype is already available as a mount lol.

Now to be fair, the art team is probably hard at work creating new custom models and animations for whatever the next 30usd mogstation mount is, so didn't have much time to work on this one.

It's a weird situation calling it a reskin, because technically the Phoenix is the original use of the model; it's just not the first instance of the model to get turned into a mount.

I despise how they didn't add CC to the pvp list. I mean I don't know, maybe if you want people to play FL that badly you could make some changes that actually improve it, instead of trying to harm CC's queues while buffing FL's with the event.

I would also prefer to do cc over frontlines for moogle tomes.

I assume that's the point – getting you to do the modes that you don't normally do, but need lots of people for a match.

Likewise, weighting the alliance raids so the ones usually avoided are now desirable, and the upper end of the levelling roulette is now more populated.

Except they are still terrible game modes, people just do it because of the event, once that's over with, it will be completely deserted again, this is useless

Some actually enjoy the cutscenes. Some actually play for the cutscenes. The MSQ is roughly 90% cutscene. Making you watch cutscene =/= disrespect.

I know. That's why I said I dislike it. FL has a lot of issues and instead of solving said issues so people actually want to play it they're just going to attach rewards to it while not attaching rewards to CC, which people actually like.

Once the event is over people will abandon FL again.

I'm all for using reward systems to force people to step out of their comfort zones and expand their horizons a bit. It's just in this particular case it's not really about that. The majority of people have really valid reasons for not wanting to participate in FL/RW.


Besides all of that... FL won't always be active. This means that when FL dies down, you won't be able to continue earning tomes via pvp.

It's not fair that the fast 5min or under runs are now locked behind having to have 650+ illvl gear now and everything else is like 15min+ runs to get a measly 8. Give us the fast blue mage runs back.

I had a really good time running PvP for a few hours this afternoon and plan to do a lot more this week. I got a few sweet glams, a new mount, and had a lot of great fights.

Well I got brave and for this moogle event I decided I would unlock the lvl 60 alliance raid and the lvl 70. Did the first part of the 60 tonight and will do the rest tomorrow. So if anyone is on Crystal and queues for alliance roulette ya just might get something other than CT during this event. :)

Truthfully I couldn't stomach 35 runs of prae to get what I want so I am trying something different.
