The world doesn't revolve around you, sheesh! Let players live how they want to.

I was in the rapid deployment force development for the USA Airforce. Took check writing programs from Clark airbase to Subic bay and printed the payroll just in case the air base was knocked out of operation. Payment to the soldiers cannot be stopped to avoid moral problems. Received a support roll ribbon and a level 3 commendation medal. (this is not a meme, I feel the need to clarify)
y...you die from other people not decorating their houses? LOL???
I get the argument that it's frustrating and disappointing when people don't really use their house, as it's a limited commodity, but this is a bit melodramatic. Also instanced housing is an infinitely better solution than a literal in-game HOA.
Why bring up something that will never happen? (instance housing) and yes housing districts can die if not properly taken care of. Hopefully said person with one item furnished will forget they have a house and have their house killed through auto demolition. Thank you, set that up real nice for me. oh, oh , oh then they can go to the housing manager get the one item they put down place it on their head go into a dungeon as a tank not hold agro and the entire party wipe. Ha hahahahahah omg you inspire me
LOL. no. This is ridiculous and could EASILY be used for harrassment and witch hunting. I dont like you? Let me get me and my fc to take your house away for crappy decor.
Last thing the game needs. A HOA controlled by self entitled power drunk KARENS.
Why among every other who tried to win the house, only this kind of person that win it...?
I'm power hungry because I want you to put down more than one furnished item? No honey, I want these people who won a lottery to act like they won a lottery. Some of these lucky winners won against impossible odds being last to enter they won. I was #5 in a 71 entry lottery and #71 won. 70 people wanted that house and after winning they put down a chair in the basement and that's all? It's a slap in the face of everyone who entered the lottery.
Always makes me think of this Karen:

I would agree with the sentiment. I like to look at how other people decorate their houses, and it is always sad to see a house that is un-touched. It would seem reasonable if housing rights can be revoked if it is not touched at all (or has very few decorations, etc).
Going to be awhile before we decorate our FC large on Sophia. Right now prices are stupid and our deco diva is doing our FC mansion on our Home world. I'm not in a rush the important thing is securing the house. As it stands right now we are the only FC in the ward with all the remaining plots unsold.
I may decide to do the garden without her if it takes too long but the inside will take some time to deco.
O M G. This thread is so crazy. xD
Cheers
There are other reasons to own a house besides decorating because SE design the system to be that way.
If SE took away those other reasons from housing (creating a different access point as opposed to removing them completely) so the only reason to have a house was to decorate, you might have a point.
Because those other reasons exist, not decorating isn't a reason to take a house away from someone.
Let's stop attacking each other and telling SE to take things away from players who use content differently from you. Let's unite and get SE to FIX THE SUPPLY.
This demonstrates one of the big problems with the system in its current state (not attacking you and your FC here, btw).
Houses are hard to obtain. Players may not want a house to use right now but feel they may want one later. Because they may not be able to get one later, they get a house now so they don't have to worry when they are ready for it.
Demand ends up increased due to the scarcity.
It's the same thing that helps to drive the house resellers, whether for gil or real money. They're taking advantage of scarcity to profit off richer players willing to pay more to secure what they want.
If the supply were designed so that any player could get the house they want when they were ready to buy a house, this additional demand would disappear. No need to buy now if you'll be able to get it later. No profit in reselling because the player wouldn't have to go through a reseller to secure what they want to have.
There are other reasons to own a house besides decorating because SE design the system to be that way.
What other reasons? Please state them all and do you know how easy and cheap it is to decorate a house? All you need a a housekeeping npc placed. They have have everything you need to decorate. Why not respect the lottery and the people who entered and decorate the dam house goshhhhh.
Why are you so invested? Why do you care so much about other people's time? You know what would be respectful? If SE could actually fix their system so mostly everyone can be happy that they can get a house. Forcing people to decorate doesn't spark joy with anyone. It's disrespectful as hell to try to get everyone to conform to your weird ideology of what would be respectful. Girl, I mean this in the best way possible, but spend your energy on something that matters. This isn't it ma'am.
Do you know what a marble partition is? The npc I'm taking about has them and if you place these partitions on the walls you get a rich person's style house's walls. they also have, arch marble partitions, slanted walls, slanted shylights, round wooden lofts, beautiful hingen wall scrolls, and phasmascrape's, know what that is? You clearly don't know what this npc has. Please don't respond unless you know what your talking about. Low standards? lol the only low standard is the research you did into housekeeping npc.
I mean, I do find it odd that some players haven't decorated their houses much at all after getting it, but I don't think they should lose their house or anything over it (the actual players I mean). My house is heavily decorated with junk, but it is effectively just a chair in a basement.
Marketboard prices right now are pretty high with all the new housing that released. Unless you can craft your furnishings it's going to be very expensive right now. On Materia everything is expensive one of the drawbacks of being there at the moment. There are only 5 servers so not a lot of competition. Doesn't appear DC travel will affect Materia at all so that won't be changing anytime soon. SE did keep the NEW status so that'll help with additional people transferring into the DC.
Yeah, this is part of the reason I haven't bothered. Housing was supposed to be something that made me level up my crafters and stuff, but I still haven't. I don't really want to buy too many of them even if it was cheap though, I need that reason to level my crafters. :p
Trust me level them you wil be happy you did. Its so nice to put several million gil in furniture in your house. While spending little to nothing gil wise doing it. Also quite amusing to see someone pay 50k for a item that only requires 5k in mats to craft lol Also applies to the npc vendors as well, check mat prices first. I just checked on a table npc price 2k mat price 500-600 gil.
I saw a lot of that when decorating my apartments; it's amazing what people will pay for the convenience of the Marketboard. I'll be, and have been decorating my house only with items I've 100% gathered and crafted myself unless it's something that's only available through an NPC. It's not a fast process, but it certainly is satisfying. The benefit of this is being able to make an extra or two to put on the MB and make a little extra cash.
Back the topic of this thread: long as someone is not a flipper or hoarding a house to spite others. Then they free to take as long as they need to decorate. Took me over a week to start on the first floor of my medium and a good 2 months before I touched the basement.
Had it for 6 months now still have not finished decorating it.
- for an FC, having workshops which gather exclusive minions, mounts, fashion accessories, crafting mats.
- for any house, having gardens which allow people to cross garden seeds.
- to provide a place to hangout for players.
all 3 of those things can be done without decorating, and only the second one actually needs a single piece of furnishing.
oh ok thank you. Yes you are right ..I hadn't thought to garden and not furnish, but if you have a house it's a no brainer to furnish it.
I mean, yeah, after the fact I probably will like having the crafters leveled. It's just so boring to do so! I think I lasted one day last time I tried, granted that was before the leveling them got easier.
I am a bit intimidated at the prospect of fully decorating my house. I want to do it, but I have heard that people have to glitch it out to actually make stuff look good, and I'd rather not do that. I kind of wish they would do some placement qol or something to stop that.
No, amusing is reselling NPC vendors you've bought for 5k (THATS even written on them) for 30-80k xD
So is gettin a house and letting it rot empty, bc you might as well just get an fc room or apartment. Or stick with inns.
IRL if your neighbor literally has a rotten dumpster as garden and just lets everything fall apart youd complain as well, sooner or later...
Im not saying burn 5441354353 gil on your house, but if you bother to get one then at least do ANYTHING with it or give it someone who yearns for it. Theres so much stuff for free or REALLY cheep... when i was new most furniture was expensive or rare, nowadays you get primal stuff for 3k or even less... it doesnt kill you to place a garden patch, any tree or flower and maybe a well or spring, or pond... anything.
If you wanna deco your house, more power to you.
Past that point, how and how fast people deco is their business.
Unless you want to do it for others, since you claim it's quick and easy. I'd actually love to see you personally message everyone in your ward and offer since the issue is yours.
