Why ? because the plots are still bugged out. it will be fixed when the proper results are published and the winners get their plot and can continue with the purchase. Guess what? Bravo SE. Now its 100*% guaranteed no leftover FC plots can be given to private players due your "sweet taking time" fixing.

I hope they decide to surprise us and add more personal wards on the 16th. The amount of personal plots aren’t enough. Even if there are some FC plots opened up for personal housing, it still won’t be enough.

We need instanced housing. Leave the current neighborhoods and from now on just add instanced versions of small, med, large houses in one ward. Then everyone gets a house with a yard if they want one.

I really wish they would give us some information on the island sanctuaries. I really want it to be a type of instanced housing with housing item storage, especially outdoor storage.

To be fair, they did QA before the change. Those employees gave their absolute best.

What they didn't do was have a test environment that sufficiently mirrored the public servers. That's a budget issue, and 100% on management.

They also cannibalized their QA environment for production expansion because severs were essentially unobtainum due to supply-chain issues.

while this is huge f..k up from them and honestly housing has been a cluster f..k from day 1 ... ( already a bad look for a bad system )

what makes ffxiv a solid mmo is when these issues arise they dont half arse fix it they test and test to make sure they fix the issue right !!

would you rather the system to be implemented again and have it have the same issues for the sake of i want it now ..

so just chill if it takes longer to fix that usually means it will be fixed right !!

I've seen no indication of that in any letters, notes or otherwise. Considering the only recent capacity issue was with the lobby servers, and there was no time between that 9001/2002 and it's solution to dismantle a QA system, ship the servers to NA, EU and JP DCs, physically install the servers, certify them, load software and integrate, and test the solution.

There have however been two mentions in Yoshida-san's notes that the QA environment wasn't a mirror.

I'm going to go with; they didn't bother to set up a proper test system from the start.

And just imagine how much whining there would be if they did roll out the fix immediately without proper testing and the same issue happened again (or something even worse happened, which would be very likely)...

And to my understanding because I actually read the update unlike some others here (not you), they have the lottery condition bug addressed, tested, and fixed internally in the code.

The environment they're trying to set up is simulating the conditions for restoring the players' lottery data, not to simulate the housing server or normal lottery conditions. How anyone thinks they should have had *that* set up ahead of time is beyond me.

For some reason this asskissing apology stuff Yoshi always does annoys me. I dont care about some stupid words, you cant do anything with them they are of no use. Its not the first time they screwed something up like this. How about some kind of ingame apology like a minion or something like that? Also i want to be able to buy a plot again, before the patch you could at least buy something, now even on empty servers (which didnt realy need the change )with tons of plots still available you cant buy them anymore.

So when can we expect the next lottery round, by the end of the next month? Will this now be the new standard that we only have a chance to get a new plot once a month and when you didnt win you have to wait another month? If this really now will take so long than the new System is shit even if its fairer than what we have before. Yea its better for overcroweded servers like mine, but its worse for lower pop servers with still a lot of plots available.

This one was a "大変申し訳ございません" (It was inexcusable). So, we are moving up the ladder.

Most of the NA players that posted in this thread are obviously highly oblivious to the fact that some of us, OCE specifically, have not had housing for 4 months.

Everyone plays the game for different reasons, For some of us Housing is the endgame.

4 months of wasted subs and watching the housing item market crash and burn because of over oversupply, and no demand due to the bug causing nobody to have a house, is not a good feeling.

Just 2 week more :) hold in there as in the long term, things will balance out.

But yep, it's certainly been interesting times in MB terms. But there are still some items which are selling at amazing rates. So, while we miss out on some things, there are others where the prices are great.

there are a bunch games with more focus on housing if that's what you are with, Black Desert, ESO, SWTOR, EverQuest II. Palia is an mmo entirely focused on that, why don't you try one of these while you wait for the fix? ;)

OHHHH that hit me hard yes yes yes OCE hasn't had housing since we were born. No airships, no submarines, no mats from voyages, and no housing means shards and crystals are charged so very high it's hard to afford them. The market board needs housing to push high prices down, and what about thanavrian onions for growing buddy chocobo? We needed housing yesterday not tomorrow. And ..... what about those who have a house already and have an advantage over the rest of us they are the ones posting those high priced crystals/shards that we need to craft. Two more weeks and every bot in existence will arrive on our shores and steal every house for round 2, 3, and 4. Soooooo mark me crazy I see trouble ahead ...

Not crazy at all. This is what is going to happen, and not just on OCE servers. Bots, RMTers and players with shell FCs will come running in droves since they've all had time to mature their FCs.

Where I am we have development servers, QA which is an exact copy of production, and production servers. Don't really need staging servers since we have QA that can be reimaged as we test things. On development we can play with things to our hearts content to test our code. And then there's redundancy with each with mirrored servers so if one goes down everything rolls over to the backup seamlessly. Sounds like that's probably what they had to deploy as public lobby servers.

To be fair, it's better to have the housing experience integrated with a general gaming experience you enjoy so it feels more like a normal part of game play (even if you consider housing your end game).

RIFT Dimensions is hands down better for housing but I can't stay interested in the rest of the game. I can log in there to play with my Dimensions but it's not the same as playing here where I move in and out of my housing as I'm enjoying other game play.

To anyone who proclaims "I'm only here for the housing". definitely I say "go play RIFT". The rest of the game being mediocre won't matter.
