Its called a joke, but no. You want to avoid the pitfall. At this point, I'd question if this idea of "not having the PTR" makes better QA for development, when something this catastrophic (in terms of design) happened.

I couldn't have said it better. I beta tested this game back when it was pure shit. I was amazed that ARR was so much of an improvement. By SB, however, I was already noticing and speaking up about a variety of issues. Housing shortages have been a thing since always. Content has been either getting gutted or made too easy for quite some time. Remember your Grand Company squadron? How about battle leves? Dungeons are all exactly the same, 2 packs of trash and a boss, repeat. Remember when the economy was booming and being an omni-crafter was actually worth the effort? I could go on, but why.
You don't need to tell me the goings on- I'm well aware & I've pitched my complaints for years just like others have- the point of my posts is to keep going- keep add it, be constructive & give criticism.
So, "please".
Unless you quoted the wrong person, I've mentioned nothing about WoW.
Wasn’t in regards to you, someone else. I have to be blunt, me and many others are tired of being told to keep going, to keep add it. Do you know how shitty it feels, to beg for changes for your role for over 6 years, only to get nothing. Then you see the dps jobs, constantly being told they’re being listened to, and they get fixed and reworked. Then we finally get the lead dev to hear us and his only answer is go play ultimate.
6 fucking years healers have asked. Meanwhile dps get changes within a patch. So yes, please, spare me the just wait’s. Spare me the just keep being constructive. If it hadn’t gotten us anywhere in 6 years what hope do we have when they can’t even release housing systems properly?
What's goin' on in this threa-
...Meteion, don't look here bad things will happen...
You're good!
I'm right with you on that hill, don't worry

Sorry. I did wonder whether it was a joke or not, but... still, it wasn't really aimed at you. I know I sounded aggressive with "So?" but I'm really just following off of what I said. "It's not that bad, but let's not get down there. Even if there's worse, let's try to make it better and not settle".
Too late.
(spoilers for 6.0)
This is what happen when you catter to players who don't like to play your game. The same players that freestyle their way trough the MSQ, carried by veterans, then vanish for 2 years until the next xpac, while the remaining ones are paying to sustain the game so they can fakecry on stream again to get likes and subs.
More solo BS, more Scions simping, more jobs simplification, more money into F2P experience.
I'm glad tho SE is failing at their housing system, because it touches the mass, not only healers, or SAM, or midcore/hardcore players. Let the white knights rise agains't their beloved god.
If they failed this hard with the lotery system, imagine when you datacenter travel and get your character and items permadeleted mid transition?
I'm just...
...leaving this here.
If it looks low effort, it's just reflecting how good this patch has been.
oUtput mAXimiZeD, BUg mAss pROducTIOn...
<bleep> hELLo, WOrlD!?
In all seriousness, I would not want to be the group behind missing an 'off by one' error as these are relatively common. It is unfortunate that housing is the system where one of these were missed inside of QA testing.
Presonally I think there are issues in the company that we do not see. Understaffing is probably one of them as I remember there was a note from Yoshi P in one of the live letters that they will slow down because the staff is heavily overtime worked for ShB and Endwalker and they need a break. I am sorry but this is not how you should approach your staff as a "service provider". You are paid a subscription fee for your services, which are expected to be good at all time. Imagine if your internet would just not work well 50% of the times, you would complain constantly. At least thats what I did when my net was acting up. If you dont have enough people to work on this project wihtout constant overtime work maybe consider reallocating the budget to a few more headcount. I can only imagine that the management has a KPI that is on Gross Margin and not EBITA base and when you do this decisions will eventually go sucky for the colleagues as colleagues are only seen in EBITA level as a cost. I said this many times for games companies before, I feel like the finance leadership is incompetent if they are thinking on GM level... money is not always profit... by the way. Most big corporations also have customer satisfaction embedded to management KPI. But game companies are not on this level. Such a shame that they dont see how non tangible things can generate a long term profit vs a short term sale.
6.1 might be one of the best patch so far, mainly because of the msq/alliance-raid/adventurer plate/new housing and pvp. Lmao are we playing the same game?
Players complain others get to keep their house forever even after stop playing resulted in shortage, they listened. Players complain spamming placard, lottery system is the way to go, they listened. Now demolition and lottery are their failure... just wtf lol!
I like this patch and I would agree that it is one of their best patches. Though I think 6.2 will be better. That being said, I don't think it is without flaws. They're spreading content out, but they're spreading it too thin, way too thin, and if Deep Dungeon and whatever the Bozja equivalent will be, if those systems aren't merged then I'll definitely say too thinly.
They've got so many systems in the game now that are distinct when in reality they should be combined/merged somehow to create a really nice flare. I always look at Heaven on High and Eureka Pyros/Hydatos and think... "Man, wouldn't it be amazing if deep dungeon had the Logos/Lost Actions systems".
I definitely think there's a bit of the melodramatic here though.
What's going on?
- Babylon's Fall
- Quiet Man
- Left Alive
- Balan's Wonderworld
- Marvel's Avengers
- Insert low effort, barebones remaster/port
It's nice to see our subscription money well spent!
New housing is better than no housing at all, PvP is generally fun according to most people I've seen playing, I do hope they allow 2-people in Casual but I can understand pre-made will just crush random players and discourage these people to play. Myth of the realm is so much better than Nier, so is it not worth mentioning? How about give some credits where credits due?
- Adventurer plates and profiles that are in beta and function exactly like an alpha build
- Housing with trash RNG coding on-release
- PvP with broken skills and really awkward glitching
- Hrothgar. Period.
...we're playing the same game, you're just blind to its issues.
Ah yes people being melodramatic because
they’re calling the company that works on the game out due to
-Their hard earned gil being literally taken from them
-Their races not being supported and only getting 6 new hairstyles after 3 entire years and said hairstyles cut off one of said races most distinct features
-An entire role getting gutted over the span of 6 years and players of said role being told to do the one piece of content that gets updated once every 2 years if they want their role to feel engaging
-(subjective but not really) built up story plot points being rushed out the window, expansions getting cut, plot threads being destroyed etc.
But sure…melodramatic lmao.
We're paying a monthly subscription fee for this. It isn't a charity and there are glaring issues. A patch having the regular expected patch features, after an expansion released no less than 6 months after it should have been (even allowing for COVID that's in excess of what they stated was the time they needed to account for it), on a longer patch cycle, is nothing impressive. They're getting as much credit as is due, and in this case, the response (complaints) they're getting for these issues is the "credit" that is due.
You'd think all the people telling others to stop complaining would realize that by telling people to stop complaining you're just making them chew both you and square out even more.
Like if you wanna go start whacking at a wasp's nest with a stick then sure, be my guest. Just don't cry when all those wasps come out and beat your ass with a sack of frozen popotos.
I've been enjoying this game since mid 4.4 so I don't entirely know how it truly was back then. I'll just go ahead and toss in my opinions though. I'm hoping this isn't the expansion where I have to call it quits. The game and the community that doesn't just resub for the next expansion feels like it's being neglected. We get less content every expansion, classes keep being dumbed down, devs still ignore feedback, the community is in that weird state of being both bad and good at the same time, balance is becoming worse, the amount of story is becoming an insurmountable wall, mediocre implementation of gearing at BiS, etc. It's all so tiresome.
I don't want to quit. I've made great friends here and have tons of fond memories laughing my way through savage and ultimate with the static. It just feels like this is following in WoW's footsteps. It didn't die overnight. It died because people were at their breaking point with the many awful decisions.
The reactions and everything that ensues are melodramatic, yes. This comes from a place that is fairly notorious at this point for being of the mindset that criticisms must be homogenous. Not that you're necessarily the culprit, but this mentality grows more rampant by the week. Additionally, the apparent allergies that people in this game have to be proposed to play something else, going as far to take it as an offense, despite the very this game has adopted a philosophy that doesn't align well with many people anymore.
So yes... Melodramatic lmao.
I was about say something similar too. Many of SE's releases have not done well and "fell below expectations" I remember when the 2nd trailer of Babylon's Fall was released and revealed to be yet another live-service game many people gave feedback and they gave even more feedback when the beta released, but SE/ Platinum Games kept most things the same. Not surprising the game flopped and only then did they asked for more fan feedback.
I have my issues with the game, but god. You'd think some here straight up want to skewer the devs.
I can see how some of "you" in the forum just want the game to get better by pretending the game is shit at it's core. Talking down real issue like COVID to keep shitting on the company so they can keep the engine running even harder than before.
It's just sad if they use forum to listen to feedback, and they will get nothing out of it. Just misinformation and hate, nothing that makes sense or even constructive.
I hope this won't drown all those posts with legit concerns and straight arguments to be heard instead of all these non-sense.
