If se isnt going to fix this MASSIVE issue, then leave pvp alone. Start with the MASSIVE issue, not the small one. PvP is tiny, small, irrelevant, unwanted, "an afterthought", doesnt belong in the game, blah blah blah w/e else tf u gotta shttalk/say. Why focus on it then? leave it alone and focus on real issues like above said.
If your going to continue talking sht about this games pvp, why are you even here anyways. Go focus on things you enjoy doing. Stop messing up our playground, seriously go tf away.
I think alot of serious PVP players just straight up gonna quit the game if they make those rewards for everyone.
I think its cool to have rare rewards for players who actually enjoy competitive PVP.
I havent seen cheating on light (EU) myself but ive seen videos och players using speedhack and stuff like that.
Boosting is a problem though sometimes you just see that super good healer farming everyone making +400 rating in a single day but thats how the game mode works healer does the most diffrence in a feast match.
Some top 100'ers in here now thankgod lol. Guys im about to lose my mind on these pve'ers >_<!
yeah ill def straight up quit this game if they give my rewards out to people who dont even feast.
I lost my s1 s2 coat, my hellhounds, all my pokeball mounts, my hellhound set, my robo chairs, my rollers, my alpha title on my other account and honestly idc about getting them back! My friend hijacked my account while i was afk and got me banned a long time ago on my other account. lost literally everything. and no i dont want my stuff back, i lost my account fair and square i guess w/e.
Trophies are trophies >_<, earn em or get lost.
With the diference that Ultimate content doesn't have an arbitrary timeframe.
You can always attempt to pass the skill check for their rewards.
PvP is a timecheck, not a skillcheck.
What im asking is the rewards to be put on a cycle, where only the top PvPers are able to use them, but next season over either they keep their rank or lose it.
Very diferent to give them away.
In most competitions you get your medal, but next season over that same medal is aviable for the next generation of competitors.
You want to KEEP your belts? Fight for them.
Let us look at another way. Everyone claims SE is overworked and it is OK we get less content. With them making less does it make sense to put any more rewards into feast. It never took off like they hoped it would. I think you could say the 20 seasons out are off limits (for now give it two plus years when they make even less content). But that doesn't mean any more rewards should go into feast going forward.
Also math of people with rewards quitting is probably negligible. You have people buying/win trading that don't care. You also have people with alts across multiple data centres. All of a sudden that 800 number gets even smaller.
They really should discuss what PvP is going forward. But they are probably not going to include PvP with expansion and then probably not with 6.1 and push it to 6.15. Which means they will probably ignore PvP till March.
And people continue to just throw endless matches at it.
Thats all there is to it. Brute force through 2k matches or more. What a test of skill if you ask me: The skill of not having any other responsability.
I might be being unfair to the handful of people that is legit very skill full and dedicated, but otherwise, this whole piece of content is a meme that needs to be revisited.
It was different once. You had all your skills + additional pvp skills and it was a struggle to just reach Gold cause you lost so much points if you lost one match in Feast. Then suddenly everybody was diamond and being diamond became less of an achievement than being top 100 cause being diamond didnt mean you are in the top 100 anymore. It is really just a summ of wrong decisions.
What if the rewards were either exclusive (to those of a certain rank, like diamond or higher, not just top 100), OR seasonal (available only for X time but available to anyone putting in the work, a la GARO but for far less time and then after that, never again) - would that be a better option?
Zsolen, so its impossible to have multiple accounts huh?
Araxes right. They deleted nearly all of our abilities. Used to be everything in your entire kit + add-ons. Dial it back even further beyond that, the fold.
I want the fold back if anything. Feast has always been nothing but a shadow of it.
Also there should be a better top 10 reward. (Time-gated ofc) and (Exclusive ofc) and (Highly Competitive To Get ofc).
None of this handout talk or casual bs.

So Alex you changed the whole conversation up about cheating the game. This is still a very real subject that your not going to just run from.
https://www.linkpicture.com/q/lol2.png
...... Maybe we got bigger problems to worry about instead of crying about pvp hurting your feelings.
How about a moderator visits one of those discord channels. See if they RMT or not. Investigation work? Anybody? Logic? I constantly see post about RMT all the time, yet NOTHING literally no transparency is seen about it.
Alex if you care about cheaters so much, login. check party finder. see for yourself. Hate cheaters? Want to be a hero of the people? There's something to champion. Have at it.
You know you can edit replies, right..?

I hope Yoshi P remembers this day. Because I remember that day very clearly.
I just wish this community had a shred of respect for competitive content.
Feast is a gamemode flawed so badly, it lives or dies by the quality of FOMO rewards it has.
People who sacrifised their time getting the T100 rewards will defend it with all their strenght, since it has a prestige of showing off the armour/mount and they have the right of it. But that shouldn't be also the reason for them to stop any changes from future PvP.
Old rewards shouldn't be re-added. It's the Feast itself and reward aquisition in future PvP patches that should change.
The gamemode is so bad only few people dare to wing the time investment for the reward. It was always the "Get T100 or leave with nothing" competition.
- You are not guaranteed getting ANYTHING from it.
- You have backward progression.
- It is available only during season and only during specific hours, since not that many people queue for it off-time.
I am so glad they said they will put Feast on hold. The gamemode should be halted years ago.
The FOMO shouldn't be the ONLY reason why Feast still has any participants. Adding more will just be to feed the veterans with more exclusive rewards, while new people don't even have place for training off-season.
Agreed Melrot. Every season was different. Every climb was different. Some seasons were vastly more difficult than others, and the journey to the reward was different. Old rewards should be locked in a box like the legacy tattoo. Yoshi P expressed "that mount was the result of my efforts to enter the ranking at that time." Its a trophy and a memory, not just an item.
The future rewards system should be looked at however. Feast did not cater to enough tiered players.
Top 10 should be the mount/armor cosmetic reward
Top 100 - should be something smaller, house item or accessory
Top 1000 - a minion or emote something really small.
Unranked/Everyone - Actual combat gear with relevant stats to the current tier (grindable) (earned) not easily given, but an effort to receive.
at least this way people get something for playing the mode thats worthwhile and useful.
Back to the OG message of this entire thing (POST 1)

And after that quote 2 old Feast mounts got their 3rd recolors years later so I think nothing is off limits as long as its not the same color :p
Most feast mounts have recolors. Hellhounds had 4 different recolors for 4 different seasons/season types. Armor sets have 2 variants/versions.

Nothing has changed Nanne. I for one respect Yoshi P's Decision, and will honor it. I just hope he honors it as well.
Correct if I am wrong but solo and team seasons happened at the same time so technically those were always available as 2 season cycles like everything so far. The chair mounts were originally in Stormblood seasons 7-8 and they then returned years later during Shadowbringers season 16. Same thing happened with the Magna roader too so Im guessing when Yoshi said that they wont return the old mounts he meant the specific colors of mounts so more recolors of any previous reward is always a possibility :p
No the hellhounds are ancient. like season 3 and 4 LOL.
Recolors are fine to a extent. Long as its a "new" reward it's ight in my book. Just dont re-release the same item...thats a huge slap in the face to the champ of that season.
However.... do you really want the same reward being re-released over and over and over and over again? I would rather have new stuff come out. let's be real.
4 mounts. 4 skins. 2 seasons. And thats season 3 and 4. which happened a long long long LOOOOOONG time ago. So its old news. I know alot of new ffxiv players are bringing up this whole "reskin happened so blah blah blah" but trust me, the og's seen this happen too many times. its nothing new lol. his answer was after this too not before.
I did miss a few seasons between 6 and 14ish however. But if I recall, armor sets are always done in 2's other than the coats. The coats had four variants.
My suggestion would be something like battlepass (dont have to buy it but use the same progression)
In this way reward will be limited but unlock by just playing it in the season.
people will feel achive something even lose. and it encourage people to play it more.
What is battlepass?
I really hope SE read this forum to see the diverse ideas for the state of PvP. The need for exclusive rewards and casual rewards for a pool of participants is very much needed in this side of content. no one will be satisfied with all the answers or ideas we have. Mine i would like to reiterate is a watered down variant of Feast T100 rewards only obtainable by Feast participants with the end of season Wolf Collars (not Wolf marks) wolf marks are for the watered down versions of the mounts faded and in a color no one likes. this will trigger people of the T100 or PvP player base but SE is already holding your attention and is trying to increase outside attention to PvP Soooo your opinions are welcomed but may weight less on the table in comparison to the overwhelming amount of players who just do not know Feast and PvP exists and the players who know it exists but just wont get into it due to impossible que times and very bad irl rng that gets them stuck with someone who is throwing a match for the other team...
plus at this point seeing the word exclusive reward used for Unobtainable is really hilarious when people use it as a legit argument. now I want SE to just sell the T100 on the Mogstation to really ruffle your jammies yes let the ole legacy T100 Feast Armors be sold for real money on the Mogstaion Real money EXCLUSIVE BABY!! <that is how some of you sound when defending Exclusivity and Unobtainability.
i would also really love if the new PvP rewarded the old T100 armors for participating in its matches not with Wolf Marks or Collars but with a new Wolf item Exclusive to that content....like Eureka or Bozja but for PvP thats how they need to treat the game types. yes casual players can run but active participation in that game type is how you get the real rewards.
Nope. This is untrue because of how the points gained and lost work at the Diamond rank. Based off the scaling of points lost within each rank, you would need approx 128 matches to reach diamond at a 75% win rate, but Diamond is NOT equal to top 100. At Diamond you lose about as much as you gain, so it is fairly impossible to climb on a 50% or less win rate past Diamond, no matter how many games you play. So while it is possible to reach diamond at less than 50% win rate(and win rate is hardly a reflection on personal skill), you will never climb higher in Diamond and will most likely not be included in the top 100, while the more skilled player will have an easier chance at climbing to secure their position.
Problem though, some players would rather invest time over effort, in the sense that they would rather spam games for RNG wins than improve on their own gameplay, as can be seen today in FL or RW games. Having a Garo like scenario would be more of the same, people spamming for RNG win, not caring about the other members on their team actively trying to learn and adapt to win.
There are, both currently and historically, people with over 1000 matches in a single season and still are not on the top 100 board. Then there is the opposite, people who are able to secure a position in top 100 in less than 200 matches. One player even climbed to diamond in a single day from unranked this season. This in itself shows how much of an impact skill can have in determining your place on the leaderboard.
"The competition of having more free time than others to throw matches at the duty finder." - How do you think good players get good? Did you think they were born with it? Or do you think they have cataloged thousands of hours of games of experience to get that way? Of course the people who spend the most time in a particular ANYTHING are bound to be innately better than those just starting out, that's how anything works. Yet people make top 100 on their first season all the time, it takes more dedication and effort due to the lack of experience, but it happens.
In the end it's a COMPETITIVE mode, competitive. Probably one of the only real competitive aspects of FFXIV(took me like, 4 hours to get into the top 100 of Ishgard restoration lol).Meaning that people win, and people lose. You make the board? You win. You miss the board? You lose, better luck next time champ. Your participation trophy is the wolf collars you get and the reminder when you see an armor/mount that you didn't get.
With all due respect, I think your understanding of how Feast PVPers feel, and how they take your criticisms would be a lot more valid if you actually participated in the Feast a bit. It seems you have only played less than 50 matches on an account from as old as 2018? Are you actually speaking with the mindset of these who actually enjoy a competitive PVP gamemode? Or is this just a case of "ooh, shiny, gimme, gimme"?
