There aren't many in any word, at least in Aether. Hence the prices...

I'm not sure if the amount of silver coins one gets from each run is set or if it varies. But SE could easily set so you could buy the hair, and the mount for basically the amount of coins you would get during the number of runs you'd need to run for the probability of not allready haven gotten it through a drop to be in the 5-25% range, depending on whatever they feel is appropriate.
Yep, and if there was at least a way to "earn" the hair in this way, it would actually encourage players to keep doing the content. Right now with buying it from the Market as the only realistic way for most players to get it, most players who want it will just do anything but Delubrum so they can earn the money to buy it from the Market.
They clearly thought people would be willing to run DR hundreds of times, so they sprinkled some desirable rewards within with a low drop rate. A drop rate that IF you did run it hundreds of times, you would probably get the items.Considering the PoTD apparently isn't even a guaranteed drop for memories (wow!). Similarly, it seems to me they thought their dyable judge armor would be enough to get people through a 48 man savage where you can lose hundreds of thousands of mettle FOR JUST PROGGING. Plus not even bothering to fix Castrum until what, next patch right? It's ridiculous!
It depends on each person mentality. When the drop rate/chance to get an item is too low, i always end up losing interest in it. I ran the Nier raids dozens and dozens and some more dozen of times because I liked the gear, the raids themselves and the music, but I hardly ever saw the two rare minions (the black pod and 2b) and eventually didn't care about them anymore. Delubrum drops are going down the same path for me. I don't enjoy doing the same thing hundreds of times. As for buying it from the market, i know it is in game currency and so it doesn't matter (if you can afford it), but I just would never spend so much in a hairstyle (that moreover I can't even preview on my character), it's simply not worthwhile. There are people with a lot more patience for repetition than I, for sure. I guess I am not a big fan of anything Bozja overall: aesthetics, rewards, mettle system, bottlenecks. I don't hate it, but it's not a part of the game where I like to spend time.
The prices will also remain high due to fact that a large chunk of the players are locked out of DR and can not help farm.
Just buy them from the MB and save yourself from the headache. Although don't do it on the first week because you think it will remain rare and expensive (I'm an idiot).
I think my issue with Delubrum Reginae compared to Castrum Lacus Litore was that even though it was a pain to try to find a Castrum that actually had people in it, it was nice to get enough coins from a few runs you could get a piece of gear with, which gives the feeling like you are actually accomplishing something. I ran Castrum when it was out enough times to get coins fulls sets of Bozja Fending, Striking, and Casting (I did this before they patched coin rewards from fates and CEs) and all in my time doing them I only ever saw one upgrade token drop.
Now running Delubrum Reginae, chances of getting the hairstyle, mount, or a gold coin are so slim I could run it 15 times for the final relic step and end up with nothing, let alone enough coins to buy a single gear piece (with the exception of the weekly quest which I feel is addressing an issue that shouldn't exist). So even though the fights are fun on their own, the entire DR run experience feels like a slog now because you play through a very long raid multiple times without anything to show for at the end of it.
I think a solution would be to add the mount and hairstyles to the DR items supplier for a number of gold or silver coins. Extreme trials hand out tokens that can be used to buy mounts after 99 unsuccessful runs, the difference here is that after 99 DR runs you aren't guaranteed anything. A thing I know that would keep me interested in running DR more would be to allow the Law's Order gear to be dyed without augmenting, because right now the augmentation steps are an ungodly slog that kills all interest just looking at it, but that's more of a personal preference
Yeah, this would help incentivize people a great deal, though I do think that if they would add them to the vendor that the cost should still be somewhat high. But it would serve as a way for people to work toward their goal. As far as these sets being dyeable without augmentation...I wouldn't be opposed, I guess. The Fending set is fine as is for me, but having the option to dye it would be nice without having to sacrifice my soul and my hypothetical first born child.
Yes, absolutely. While I do think the 99 tokens required for one of the Ex mounts is absolutely absurd, even though the fights are much shorter and can eventually be near completely outgeared/outlevelled, I do think that's still the ideal way forward. Leave the low chance of drop in place as is and even continue letting people get it once they have it so that the Marketability doesn't suffer too much, but let those who are okay with working towards the long goal do it while they are still hoping for the lucky drop.
It's not just the drop rates for the hairstyle and mount that are bad, but also the fragments. I've used up pretty much all my offensive actions at this point and only once or twice have I earned any back while in there. I could go and farm some more in the southern front or castrum, but why bother? Why spend a bunch of time farming up resources to just waste them for nothing? I've got a few more runs left to finish off my second weapon and then I'm done with running it.
After a certain point really low drop rates stop becoming incentives to keep running content and become demoralising, making players wonder why they should keep bothering when after 30+ runs they haven't recieved an even halfway decent drop.
I think it's pretty easy to get a fully augmented Bozjan set now since you can buy the upgrade items with coins. But with the Law's Order gear there's no way for me to ever augment it, because the drops only come from savage. If I could buy them with coins then I could be working toward something at least, but as it is the silver/gold coins are completely worthless to me. I'm not going to buy the non-augmented non-dyeable gear, since the only stat that matters is the augmented haste and everything else is synced so my augmented bozjan gear is better. And it's not worth it to me to collect glamour that I can't dye.
The really irony that shows off how poorly thought out their reward structure is by selling the Fragments you purchase with cluster, you'll eventually have enough to buy the hairstyle outright in likely less time than it takes to complete Delubrum enough for it to drop. Unless you're incredibly lucky.
Once again, this reeks of them artificially drawing things out because Shadowbringers has almost nothing left to offer until September/October. At the same time, it misses the point of incentives. If people feel they're too outrageous, they won't bother. It's why the top 100 Feast reward has never once worked to attract new players towards PvP. It isn't an incentive if no one thinks they'll be able to rank high enough to get it. Sadly, the dev time is nothing if not notoriously stubborn.
60+ runs. this far only gotten the mount.
I stopped doing DR completely as soon as I got my fourth weapon. I haven't even been logging into the game anymore. I want the rewards, but I don't think it's worth continuing to do 30-45 minute runs of DR and getting literally nothing. They are there, but they aren't for me. The weapons aren't cool enough on their own to justify this kind of time investment. I'm sorry.
More than me. I've done 75+ runs, and gotten nothing at all.
The fragment droprate makes no sense in an instance designed to make use of Lost Actions and Essence. The better actions can be quite expensive to stockpile, especially since each fragment has a high chance to give one of the bad Essences or Actions. I've done close to 50 runs of DR and only got 3 of the Pure Essence for melee dps. This means contributing to your team costs you either a lot of grind or gil, which isn't right.
Bosses should be dropping multiple fragments each with the option to trade more for silver coins. We should be encouraged to have fun using them, not discouraged.
It is kind of silly that it's much more efficient to farm the pure essences on the southern front with clusters then it is running Delubrum itself.
Even on savage the only guaranteed fragments you receive in bulk are Loss (Which is largely pointless due to how insanely situational Sacrifice is).
48 run 2 haircut.
A well-deserved reward as I spend my time with people who don't take the time to use their potions.
I won’t say they designed the reward structure poorly. It’s obvious that they designed such reward structure on purpose to extend the lifespan of the content because like you said, there’re no many contents until EW.
From 1v1 duel to the drop rate to the mettle lost for those attempting to clear DR Savage, all of those are some cheap ways to make people spend more time with the same amount of contents.
I don't know how lucky other people are... but based on what I read from previous posts I'm certainly not so lucky at all.
Just now the 110th run---give or take, I just finished 7th relic but pretty sure I ran few besides first clear and helping friends before starting the actual quest. So far I've looted nothing but silver coins, dozen of frags, four identical orchestrion roll & bunch of statues. Sadly only the frag sells for decent amount of gil, the rest are "might as well never exist".
That being said, it hasn't been a big deal personally since the hairstyle is more of a bonus than necessity.. I might just gonna stop running entirely once I finished grinding the relic weapons that I want to get (just three classes left to go).
The thing is most of us are only running it for the relic right now. Even if it dropped no rewards besides that relic token (it practically doesn't to be honest), we'd still run it the number of times necessary for the relic. Not only is dragging out the content by withholding rewards unnecessary, but if there was a better reward system we might have reason to run it after the relic. They're actually killing the lifespan of DR not extending it, and only the relic is keeping it going for the short term.
The exact same thing happened with Castrum. Rewards trickled down to "extend the lifespan", making us farm Haste gear for months, but instead it killed the lifespan entirely and required an emergency hotfix.
20th delubrum reginae Normal here Seen not a single haircut, mount, queen ost, sochen cave palace ost or barding. Also on castrum done 7 or 8 runs now and still no bozjan runner's secrets drops leaving me to suffer with grinding coins.
As someone who wants several pieces of the judge armour dyable to fill up dire gaps in non tank glamour, this just reeks of eureka's "get the 0.1% drops so its less of a slog" style and artificially extending content because budgetbringers seems to be focusing on spectacle over gameplay and rewards.
I don't even want the hair tbh, its yet another bloody short one. Its the orchestrion rolls and mount I'm after.
edit: btw, no, I have not seen any of the eureka items bar the speed belt (once) drop, which is getting deleted.
Welcome to the Dropless Delubrum Runs Club. I am one of the honorary members, with 80 + runs. (As for Castrum, I ran it about 30 times, didnt see the runner's secrets once). Please make yourself at home, we are a merry bunch and we get cheerful new members every day :D
55+ runs and nothing !
And this as a bonus of the 1 hour runs sometimes, given how some still manage to die in a loop, the afk, low dps, no tank, no healer...
It is as if the only loot that existed were rare essences, silver coins and rotten orchestrions.
I will soon have enough silver coins to buy all the ugly sets from FFXII.
I still have 3 more relics to finish.
Pure happiness !
Its amazing to see how many people still doing this even if they don't like it and complain how bad Bosnia and this Raid is. These kind of people are excatly the reason why SE gets away with it, if no one would do this horrible content they would have to rework it. But since a bit shiny loot seems to be enough for the people to do something what they clearly don't like, SE learned now the wrong lesson and will most likely put even less effort into stuff like this in the future. Why should they put more than the minimum effort into content like this if people still doing this crap?
I will not waste another minute in Bosnia and happily ignore all the new relics. Compared to Eureka they dont even look that good and i can only wear one glamour at once anyway.
You have to suffer to be beautiful. No other reason would make me do things in no brain. 1 intense week of light farm (per relics, day two) on the sleeping dragons of Eureka, etc.
if the last stage of the relics suck, i don't do it as usual.
at Stormblood I had started SAM, DRK, WHM, PLD, NIN, RDM.
And I only finished SAM & PLD in the last step; and Tank Armor +1.
Ps: and I only complained about the fact that I couldn't make money on people's backs with the loot: barding, barding, hairstyle.
Sorry but I have to disagree with the way people cry about bozja all the time.
First people just didn’t want to go there and had no real reason not to asides from the fact it was optional. It was always fun.
Secondly these people cried and said they had no reason to go there. Then they cried because the relic was put there. Now you’re crying because the hairstyle doesn’t drop in a few runs.
Why don’t you just ERP in Limsa and forget about Bozja. It’s not for everyone and that’s okay.
Late but just gonna update how my errand goes...
I got the Gabriel III mount on my 111st run and just finished 8th Relic
Just... two more classes :)
Nice bonus with the mount. I hope I can sell it but if it don't sell within a week I guess I'll just use it myself.
Yeah... kinda wish they would do something similar to getting into a duel but with drop rates, like not getting hit with that twice or three time debuff thing or even just dying increases drop rate or something of that nature.
Why do you do this to yourself?! All those relics?! I haven't PLAYED the game in almost two weeks, because of what this relic grind did to me. At least you finally got your mount! If I was you, I wouldn't sell it, because of the drop rates. At least if you might want it in the future.
