You seem to fail to grasp the legal difference between scantily-clad attires and full nudity.

I don't expect Ryne to ultimately be left behind on the First yet. The latter half of the 5.2 trailer that previews the Bozja Citadel content seems to allude to the scions joining us on the Source to assist Cid, Ryne included. We have yet to see exactly how this plays out, but it's curious to think on.

The way some people are confusing a mod used to nude a character (or worse, as someone stated) with this... Is concerning to say the least.

True and honestly I dont care what people do with characters since they are not real but I just find it funny and a bit "ugh" to see how SE turns around and instead of just giving her a normal nice looking outfit gave her that instead...its not fully naked but maybe after having such a stance one really should look at themselves and not fuel the fire.

I don't see how the rant has anything to do with this. This game is rated T for TEEN in my country with both partial nudity and sexual themes in the label.

The rant is about going beyond what the game depicts via unauthorized usage of mods and other third party tools.

The rant was about using underage people and Lalas (which might look like children for those that dont know the game) for these mods. They have again and again said that we wont get younger characters for exactly the same reason and they are even not sure of giving us certain emotes because it could be used for these things.

Forgiven Obscenity

If there is a nudity problem in certain countries, I'm sure the devs have likely changed it to avoid any legalities. They did the same to China where it does have more censorship, I mean the skeletons can't be show in game.

I think the innuendo in E8 SAVAGE might be off putting for people.I mean we have a dragon covering a lady's "dragon" - though I think I'd object if we heard moaning or something else during the scene. I would also say her Hydaelyn outfit is kinda pushing it, I mean it looks like something out of Bayonetta. As others have pointed out this is no different than a bikini honestly.

So yeah I kinda understand, but it's not that serious imo as people making it out to be. I mean the other part of mods was that they were literally messing with client data that's against the TOS, the nudity aspect that was illegal in some countries was just icing on the cake.

I suppose my only "real annoyance" if you wanna call it is they used the Byakko skeleton basically, but that's nothing new - recycling is used in video games everywhere.

I just watched the fight, very pretty fight but aye seeing Rynes face made me a lil uncomfortable but eh...Its Japan

The difference is still in what the mods do. Again, partial nudity and sexual themes are part of the game's rating.

I don't think teens showing some skin is a problem by itself. Look at the swimsuit example I showed earlier in this thread as there is even less that is left to the imagination in that one. But full on nudity without covering or any other more extreme modification goes beyond just showing some skin.

I guess it comes down to different tastes. I find a swimsuit much less worse than someones only clothes being a dragon which was also Shivas lover. But I guess I just find it funny that they went that way after all the talk about never getting younger characters (and some people simply wanted to play teenager not for lewding but because they just like playing as them).

I also find it funny how some say we have a problem when the OPs post was kinda sarcastic anyways and that they probably also find it quite funny that they have done that with Ryne.

The internet doesnt just exist in a vacuum, you can't argue about it's just pixels who cares when it constantly affects people which also applies to fiction in general. Just think about how for a long time your stereotypical story revolves around a straight white male with no deviations from this, not only does this subconsciously give the idea that the world revolves around them, but it affects people who want to see themselves represented in media. I could find a million stories about straight white makes and I honestly don't give a damn about any of it because it's less likely to be relevant to me and what interests me. So anyway now when someone wants someone else all the straight white males will cry about sjws and pandering and whatever because suddenly something isn't made for them for once, entitlement to everything that was caused by... Fiction. And this entitlement bleeds into all other aspects of their life.

Anyway there's nothing inherently wrong or sexual about showing skin and Imo it depends on what it is you're wearing but the outfit here is pretty sexualized, given that it's only made worse in the savage version and like. My problem with it is this could have been so easily avoided by doing like a hundred different things, but instead someone specifically said "yes I want a character who looks underage to have their head pasted onto a nude body" and that's what doesn't sit right with me.

You could honestly argue all day about whether or not it's this or that and I can somewhat see both sides here (but don't get me wrong I'm pretty uncomfortable with it and I think trying to defend depictions like this is ridiculous, I just at least think there's some merit in suggesting that people are making it out to be a bigger deal than it is)

Do i think thiss is making a mountain out of an anthill, maybe, but I can still see the issue with it especially again since someone actually had to make the conscious decision to let this pass.. If it were me i would never let it slide just because of the controversy that would surround it alone, i don't care to argue about whos right and whether or not its morally okay or not, it's better to avoid controversies like this period by not putting it into popular media like this. Just like I don't care if the sexualized character who looks like they're 10 is "technically thousands of years old" or whatever stupid excuse you could make up for something like that. You could also just not do weird creepy shit that people can argue over altogether. This feels like one of those things.

Considering Ryne isn’t real, she doesn’t actually have an age, and no one is harmed by anyone being “into” her yeah it doesn’t bother me. It’s almost like I can tell the difference between reality and fiction.

I think we all should just... agree to disagree that it's a cultural clash grey zone. Everyone knows nudity in on itself is taboo in the west, specially US, add a minor and it's bound to be a recipe for disaster. Did she need to be dressed like that? no, it was an artistic/symbolic choice. Does her being dressed like that mean they approve or even encourage pedophilia? also no, not everything is about sex people - we make it about sex because somewhere out there, someone is lusting over it and we're aware of it.
