Because as said by numerous persons, your character weren't teleported into the current version. Even Legacy player can't make another character like this. Because, spoiler, they haven't teleported either.

This isn't even a good troll thread, come on, people.
The reason why it is impossible to get the legacy tattoo has been answered by several people. If you even understand our explanations, any further persistence simply makes you appear arrogant and quite rude.
Square Enix has given us many different customization options for our characters. Accept what you are given, or try to look for a different game that satisfies your hunger.
This thread has been exhausted countless times in the past, as well as now. Please move on... You should find something more important to occupy your time. D:
You know, I agree that there haven't been many additions to tattoo options. They should make more! (But not the legacy tattoo... which, by the way, we can't even customize)
More customisation options for sure, such as tattoo options. Legacy tattoo specifically though, HELL NO. And I'm not even a legacy player. If they make that available, I might just quit because it's just a major kick in the teeth to everyone who supported the original game. Even the white raven earrings are rubbing me the wrong way.
But all the legacy tattoo requirement was, was you needed to have a character. Not even a sub. I even looked up and people were saying that they got it without paying for more than the game. They don't get access to the legacy discount.
So even people that bought the game, hated it, and quit for the whole time got the tattoo. They deserve it, but I can't have one?
Sorry, gonna put it up here because I dunno how close to 10 post limit I'm at.
But did the game have a free trial? If yes, then I could'a gotten it then without paying a cent. And if no, just put it on mog station for the amount the game was then. XD Easy Peasy.
Yes, because they will have subbed and bought the game to make the character in the first place. Even if they hated it, by paying and subbing even for a bit, they were supporting the original game. Something you and I didn't do. It's that simple.
Or... we can let the legacy players keep it. From what I understand, it didn't have a free trial. As for putting it on the mog station for the amount the game was then... no. Because again that devalues those who actually paid for the game back then. Sorry, but I will NOT agree to it being made available under ANY circumstances. And if they do so, I will legitimately consider up and quitting. In my eyes, they're already spitting on the legacy players (of which I shall repeat, I am not one) by making the white raven earrings available. I've already said I'm up for adding tattoos as customisation options. Just ANYTHING except the legacy tattoo. My position will not change on this no matter what you say.Quote:

But the Tattoo was never tied to a subscription. You only needed a character. Never needed a sub. The reduced sub cost was from paying for 90 days.
I did join in Late ARR, but I haven't dropped my sub since I came here. Are you saying the guy who bought the game, didn't like it, and quit and never did anything else supported the game more than I have? Sure it wasn't dying when I came in, but this other person didn't exactly support it either, but because they made a character then they'd get the tattoo while I'm left in the dust.
Just seems unfair to me. Looking it up, someone said they played to level 20 and paid for 1 month. This was their stuff.
-----
- I have no 9.99 montly fee
- I have no Legacy Titles
- I have no Legacy Mount
+ I do have Legacy Tattoo
+ I do have Onion Helm
+ I did get free Fantasia
+ I did keep my original gear from 1.0 apparently when ARR launched

So for this person's case, they didn't pay 90 days, because they don't even get the cheap sub. But they still got the tattoo. And other things too.
Because I dropped $$$ for the collector's edition.
Because I actually paid for the game because I wanted to play it.
That's why we have it and non-1.0 players don't.
You don't look at someone's Medal of Honour and say "but I want one too!" if you didn't earn it by answering the call to arms. The difference between the tat and the earrings is one was a thank you for at leasy buying the game and trying it along with the legacy bird and sub discount if you subbed during their actual sub time (the rest was a very extended free 30 days after starting an account) and the earrings were just a quest reward if you somehow got lucky to even do and finish a fight. *Items* are things that shouldn't be locked behind the "exclusive" banner (I was miffed over the moogle suit for 10 minutes before I got over it because it doesn't effin' matter, let people get stuff like that) forever. But things like the tat, that isn't an item but something actually special?
No.
There are a few gear sets that give the illusion of a tattoo. Use those if you want one so bad.
So, if I ask for the item as a replica? Since that was the "acceptable" solution for the earrings then what?
I want a "replica 1.0 legacy tattoo" option in the character creator, regardless of how or when I make it. It's a 'replica' therefor not as 'important' as a 'genuine'. (silly to use the terms on digital stuff but w/e) So fair game, right?
Nope, the forums have become just as bad as the events lately.
I'd like to see other tattoos made available for other parts of the body.
And for the next Rising, can we have another 12th floor? That one was the best so far out of all of them.
Untrue, the Tattoo is given to any character made in 1.X. It has nothing to do with the Legacy campaign itself. I have multiple friends who never achieved Legacy status with their accounts who have that tattoo.
Fun fact: Retainers created in 1.X and weren't changed coming in also have the Tattoo.
I didn't even know the game was a thing in 1.X. I only had figured out during the later part of ARR when I was moving away from WoW for a while.
I personally didn't play much FF is why. So I never really looked for it. Nor did any of my friends even touch 14, so they never told me.
Just add a tattoo shop npc in the Enclave and be done with it.
When can I get a JUICY tattoo on my butt? SE I think this deserves immediate attention
The Tattoo was given automatically to any and all 1.0 characters, it only appears if you import your 1.0 character/s to 2.0, and may be hidden by default, you can check by typing "/legacymark on".
It will not appear if you played 1.0 and started fresh with a new character in 2.0 onward, it might be called Legacy Tattoo officially but it isn't linked in anyway to Legacy benefits, as long as the character was made in 1.0 it will have it, doesn't need to be leveled or anything cause I have a few (that have the tattoo as well) from 1.0 at level 1 that I only logged in once or twice just playing around with the character creator, back then we didn't have any way to edit our characters, no fantasia!
So its just a visual sign showing your character was in 1.0 :P
Let us travel to world of darkness or let us go back in time to witness the whole event and help save ones.
An idea... we spring Yoshi from confinement.
Back in 1.0, there was a really fun yet short quest in which the Wandering Mistrel was taken into custody (by some unscrupulous noble or something... I forget the details) and we had to go rescue him.
Fun times. See screenshots below.

In the same thread with people getting up in arms, there were people STILL unhappy with that solution. So that still wouldn't make anyone happy. In fact, people were more upset over the possibility of replicas!
Also, replica MOHs are illegal in the US, so there's that.
And we do have replica gear. For Bahamut content.
