I want to explore. Please adjust monster cap.

I soloed all of them except Wyrmking's perch and I probably could have soloed that one too, it just happened to be that we went there after a raid one night to see what's there. Turns out there's a dungeon entrance up there. I had all of these before 1.18 lol. Turning Leaf used to be the most painful to get to, count yourself lucky they changed the area.

I got there along with the rest of the nodes by using Quickstride. Getting to that area was quite painful, I actually set my homepoint at Lasthold and then got as close as I could to the area above before popping Quickstride. Took quite a few tries. Unfortunately Quickstride no longer exists so it may be tough now.

I couldn't get to check out what's at the far top of that area where it turns to water, there's like a billion rank 80 or whatever efts, but I suspect it was either going to be a future zoneline or dungeon.

The Black Shroud is the worst. Snakemolt is rage worthy, but nothing is impossible. I soloed all of mine.

Shortly after the release of FFXIV I went to the area in your picture, and I continued to the far top of the area where it turns to water. I don't remember there being THAT many efts, but it's likely that mob placement has changed since then. I hate to say it, but the far northern area was nothing special. The last area was a creek with a bunch of Qiqirn hanging around. The path terminated in a waterfall. No going forward. Before I saw the waterfall I had thought that it might be a future zoneline, but now I'm not so sure. I suppose it's possible that they were planning to put a cave behind the waterfall to open up a future zone. Who knows.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter now since we'll be getting new zones. And thank god for that. The world redesign can't come soon enough.

I took a lot of SS in Galmorre Ruins (North of Lasthold) I remember it was nicknamed the "Summoning Circle" in my Server so I checked it out.

It was tons of fun and I actually got it First try lol... what a luck, but yeah It was such a shame when I went north and found out it was only Qiqirns hanging out, although I did poke them and got my ass kicked by those rats! :D

Very frustrating indeed. I had to pull the Pugot south at the first intersection before the Creeping Ivy circle, they usually don't move a lot once they follow you/kill you. So you can race back and then just x/walk passed the Waterdogs/Guivres.

There was 1 more Pugot literally right next to the Aetheryte area w/ a Waterdog I just full buffed and prayed, and got the node.

Never going back there again! /cheer :D

I was going to say that summoning circle reminded me of the Dragon Burial Grounds in Skyrim. I wonder what will be summoned there?

I wasn't even aware you could walk passed certain enemies. This doesn't seem to be widely known. XD

You give too much redundant advice. I know what the "x" button command is and the slow walk command right between the auto run button on my Longitech controller. Also, as mentioned here from the other players it doesn't work. "Walking" only helped me when I went to the moogle fight (and beaten it), so it's already a given I know that command. You're not helping, you're actually spamming at this point.

Personally, I've reached every Aetheryte camp and gate in La Noscea, Thanalan and The Black Shroud without having another player teleport me there; it is possible. The one time I asked for assistance was with the Aetheryte gate in The Tam-Tara Deepcroft, where I'd died just paces from the gate itself.

Honestly, I'm surprised this topic was originally focused on La Noscea's Aetheryte gates. Getting to these locations is a joke. You simply need to know how to avoid the aggro of various monsters. All it takes is some good timing, a little patience, and the know-how to sneak behind or walk past certain mobs.

Really? Please note that my highest leveled class in a level 30 Marauder and here I am shaking hands with one of these 'impossible' level 78 crabs outside The Isles of Umbra. It's not asleep, it's not stunned; fact is, I had to chase it across the path to get these pictures and I was still able to line up each shot and strike a pose. Why? Because I toggled my 'run' to 'walk'.

Sorry. "x" walking (not running or on chocobo) does NOT work for me. Either system error or just misleading information making players to go random areas to go suicidal. Second, other areas "walking" isn't going to help me with a domino rows of different kinds of aggressive monsters.

Well, it works in the situation you provided. This is not an attempt to kill other players, it's an attempt (an obviously misguided attempt as you're not willing to listen to reason) to prove to you that this particular gate is easy to reach when preformed correctly. Here's a simple recommendation, as I do not play with a controller, try unplugging the game-pad and use your keyboard. I guarantee it will work.

EDIT: If you're already trying this with your keyboard, make sure you permanently toggle walk/run using the number-pad.

Second, this solution is not all-inclusive and I never said it was. As stated above, and by multiple players in this thread, it's a combination of...

Some mobs aggro by sight, some by sound, some aggro to both. You need to learn which mobs aggro by which and change your strategy accordingly. You may even need to use a combination of walking and sneaking behind monsters. :eek:

As the previously mentioned crabs were the ones you referenced in your original post, these are the ones I referenced as well. They aggro by sound.

It's pretty obvious that you're just another player who want's everything handed to you on a silver platter. Well guess what? You have to work to get to these gates. Otherwise, why would they call it an Achievement? If you don't like it, do something else. It's only 30 points and a useless title.

Will do, I wont waste my time because it's illogical. I'll do other achievements because they're doable and for some achievements are interesting to the community who would want to do the same. Aethyrl crystal on the other hand, not so much. Obviously you're misleading and quick to judge. I work for "everything" I earn. But that's okay you know. You say it's useless, easy to get, then why do you have the title? I want it for fun, and if it's not fun to get for just a useless title, then why on earth are high level cap monsters exist as of today? Being surrounded with several monsters higher level than normal without seeing future level cap rises being made is beyond sanity.

I do it because it is fun for me. Being surrounded by high level mobs that could one-shot me at any time is exciting, and add to that the thrill of making it through alive is exhilarating. I think it's awesome that just because I've got a few battle classes at cap doesn't mean I can kill anything that crosses my path. I didn't need points or a title to go out and get these gates, I did it for the sake of having fun. If you don't think it's fun, that's fine. But that doesn't mean that they should take it out. It's an MMORPG. They cater to what everyone wants, not just you.

PRESS "X" and walk through the damn mobs!!!
The X is the "X" button on keybord and not the F button.

ALSO YOU HAVE TO BE ON YOUR FEET AND NOT ON YOUR CHOCOBO.
That means that you dont have to be mounted on your chocobo

You have to tongle walk while youre AWAY from the crabs and not after you aggro them, this is important and it means that YOU HAVE TO WALK BEFORE YOU START FIGHTING THEM.

Lastly DO NOT ENGAGE IN BATTLE WITH THEM and that means that you have to AVOID the crabs and not try to kill them.

Also, you're forgetting other areas of the game "X" button isn't going to really help getting attacked by several different kinds of senses of monsters (i.e. Sound/sight). Either invisible/Silent potions are to be created like in XI or just revise monster cap.

That's the thing you don't have to throw bodies. Many have done it , and everyone CAN solo it. Learn how the mob's aggro works. and learn to play the game. Its an Achievement for a reason. Achievements should be hard and take time to get. If any idiot can just walk and get all the crystal's whats the point?

It's people like you that destroy games because you want everything given to you with pretty little bows on it.

You know what, you're right! Walking doesn't protect you from sight aggro, but SE has come up with a solution. In patch 1.20b, all enemy monsters will be blind! No need to worry about maneuvering through tight corridors which require both walking and the need to sneak behind sight aggro mobs. Just walk right on through to every aetherial gate!

Fed up with worthless time-sinks? Fear not, you'll be able to toggle the feature if you prefer a little versatility. Simply switch your configurations to hard-of-hearing-mode, name pending, and you can speed past every monster above level 50 on choco-back because they can't hear you and they won't see you until you're on the other side of the zone.

Still not fun? Still seem like a waste of time? Wait until patch 1.21 and SE will just hand out the title to everyone!

Um... I got most of them alone as well. I didn't exploit. I was exploring Coerthas during pre-release at r10. SE shouldn't have to nerf mobs just cause some players don't have skill.

I've seen every area in the game with almost every weather effect. Mor Dhona is the only place that blows me away.

Snakemolt is the WORST, but I got it last night. Smooth sailing from here on.

It's my fault because the instructions I gave you the last time where too complicated for you to understand.
I will try to explain as simple as I can this time:

If the enemy is sight aggro you go behind him ok?
That means that YOU HAVE TO PASS THAT ENEMY WHEN HIS BACK IS TURNED TO YOU AND NOT WHEN HE IS LOOKING AT YOU.

Also you have to run past some of them as quick as you can on you chocobo while you are buffed for defence.
That means that you have to use PROTECT, SENTINEL, DECOY, mount your chocobo AND RUN THROUGH THEM.


If you didnt understand what the hell I am saying, then uninstall the game and never come back.
That means that you have TO DELETE THE GAME from your PC.

The efts are really slow moving, I jumped on my choco, waited for the eyes to turn and just ran, the efts wouldnt even touch me as I zooooomed past them. Ive even gotten aggro from the eyes and still had no issues on choco putting enough distance between myself and them havent been an issue as long as you dont get caught on a rock or soemthing

Ive been able to get all the nodes except a couple in Black Shroud. I try the walking past/behind hogs and they still aggro and the nodes Im lacking are blocked by hogs and raptors in narrow strips. I think I only need Lynxpelt and Lasthold.
