Find this hilarious as Lamia had a month of available plots after the last housing update when other servers were gone in the first hour :p
Don't know how many 'months' it has been since the update but sounds like you just missed out on the timing.

Not that there is anything hard about it, but FC leaders can be unstable/rude/whatever too. FC rooms are truly at the whim of the leader. One day things are fine, the next, you have no personal space. It's not as uncommon as you may think, tons of topics have been made about things like this happening.
What I don't get is how gamer now a day can be so lazy about being social in a Online game. This is what I miss about EQ and FFXI.... Almost never have that crap happin -_-'
Get to know the leader then, stop playing a MMO just to never talk to ppl and be antisocial O.o You be better off playing a solo RPG then...
It's not about anyone being lazy or antisocial, it's the fact that you are just simply at the whim of someone else. Spoiler alert: some people hide their crazy very well. I'm not saying every FC leader is out to get people but yeah, becoming truly a victim to someone's whim/power (logical or erratic) is very possible. Especially in an MMO.
Which, in most cases, goes against the ToS and people start getting in trouble.
And your making my point, if that how ppl think.. Then this is how they will make other feel and think ..and down hill we go. If you assume someone is bad or can't be trusted all the time your just being paranoid all the time over agame O.o
And yes true, but what's stoping players? You see it all the time on many server, even more so the bigger one with fewer house to go around.Quote:

This game is not worth being paranoid over. The whole point I'm trying to make is that you are putting the sole blame on a certain group of people, and I'm trying to point out, that since this is a social game (which you seem to understand), that things go both ways. You can't just point the finger of blame and tell people they are lazy and antisocial when they feel wronged when the reality of it is, when it comes to FC rooms, you don't have the same security as you would by owning your own house or apartment. People shouldn't have to settle for relying on someone else to have their own space in the game.
At this point in time I almost never see property being advertised to be sold on Siren. So I'm assuming at some point that enough people got in trouble that most think "Eh, I probably shouldn't risk selling this house now." But then again, we never had a huge house flipping issue to begin with, most people who bought houses even when they were new actually used them.
I'm not pointing my finger at any one group, I'm doing it to all gamers. FFXIV is turning US as ONLINE gamers in to antisocial ppl that get paranoid over the most dam crap now a days. It so rare to find a big guild out that can 100% work together! (Like in the EQ and FFXI day 300+ member online working together to do something)
I point out that there are many ways to do something and ppl get mad Bc they have to get to know other or talk to ppl in MMO to do it... Umm what the point in playing a MMO if your just going to .. Umm ya be antisocial! Again my point O.o I'm not saying my way is right 100% but making the game more or less.. Less social won't fix it or us as a online community.
Look I'm old/ old school and in the end I miss the day of online gaming were the the community came together to have fun and work to better them self at the job/class, but now a day it all solo this or free that.. Or it to hard Bc I can't 1man a endgame boss..
I still love FFXIV and will continue to play it with my wife and friends for years to come, just said to see so many game go down this road just Bc the new gen of gamers can't work together.
I don't really get what's so "anti-social" about not wanting someone else to demolish your 300k investment just because they had a wild hair and felt like it.
It would be like buying a condo only to be told that you were actually just renting it the whole time and now the building owner is kicking you out because he doesn't like that you don't say "hi" to him every time you pass him on the stairwell.
What was the point of your nonsensical walls of non-sequiturs about the "EQ days", anyway? If you had a point you failed utterly at making it.
Again you're making my point for me. Why join a guild and never talk to any one, just setting your self up to be kicked O.o Why join a guild and never get to know it members and work together in helping with each other goals? I make my point every time someone try's to say something like this lol
" I don't want to be kick for something" " I don't like feeling like I have to bow down and kiss the leader ass so I won't be kicked" umm so how about you get to know the ppl 1st O.o again being antisocial Bc they want everything to be solo and for one self so they don't have to feel like they need to talk to other to have fun.. Just play by them selfs.. That what I'm seeing here. " I don't want to buy a room in the FC just Bc then I have to get to know the ppl there so they won't kick me" Then way join one in the 1st place.. Just take FC and guild out of the game all together and go back to just LS like FFXI... Hell gamers had less to QQ over then -_-
My point aside.. All this started Bc most of the ppl here have the idea in there head that there 1536 apartments pre server..
1st the building is in the Houseing Ward..that tell you right there that there 1 in each ward.. And sub ward...
2nd after knowing this that adds up to 12000+ pre town -_- and 36000+ pre server.... If you looked at the pic form the LL you know it was in the Houseing ward.
3rd All they said was There is One building pre town(ward)@ the same time when there showing the pic of it you can see the Houseing wards... That One building ATM pre ward not the main towns. They played us! And ppl are falling for it.
They say town, but show us the building in the Houseing wards.....Each Ward IS a small town >.> after all.
On that note I'm done here.. No point in pushing this when ppl still fell to see that point. Good day and happy hunting!
People need to stop saying this BS. I rolled on Balmung at release. Why? Because it was the main RP server. How was I supposed to know that it would become super overcrowded with a constant stream of new people coming in even years down the line? In two decades of playing MMOs and being on the RP server, I've never experienced this.
Everyone in a FC is only human which means drama can start over the smallest things..I had my share of people that were quite nice at the beginning but turned out to be jerks..At the same time things change and a FC that was nice at the beginning can turn bad over time. Sometimes RL stuff happens that can change someone or the leaders stops playing, another gets the lead and shows their true face..there are lot things that can happen to make you loose your room and a lot of them have nothing to do with being anti-social...
We also don't know if its only one building for each city or one building for each ward. The letter did not give any specific information about it and the translation also only shows the picture that tells us nothing..would it be nice if each ward and sub-ward had one? Yes, but we cant say for sure.
In the end this could have been the housing content with instanced rooms..and yet they choose something that is still limited.
But if we don't talk about it afterwards than nothing can change. ^^ If you are new at a job and learning your tasks but nobody ever tells you that it might be wrong or that you could do it better in a different way than you will never get better since most of the time you wont notice your own mistakes.. The people at SE are only humans too and thus can make wrong decisions. We pay them our money every month so I do think that we have the right to say if we don't like something. Do they have to change it? No. But we also don't have to like it ;).
See, I think the best solution would be to answer the demand based on need. Some servers simply have no need of more wards, so they could take those and give larger servers an extra one or two. If those smaller pop servers ever increase in popularity, they add additional ones in a coming patch. This way, they aren't wasting server space on underused wards and addressing the problem for larger pop servers. Ultimately though, I do agree with you. There are downsides to being on a heavily populated server. This is one of them. But this whole system is a complete mess regardless.
i dont mind if people have demands or opinions.
but not everything is a mess or whatever. People are trying to make it sound like its the end of the world :P
like other alrdy mentioned some stuff is just overpopulated ^^
but in the ends its for the devs to decide to get the best out from the infrastructure they have.
and do the best for all of us , not just people on the forums :P
it can even get worse than losing just the room. the leader can lock you out of the FC house. if you have a room in that house you can't enter it anymore. if you can't enter it you can't remove the furniture. as long as furniture is inside you can't abandon the room. when you can't abandon the room you can't leave the FC.
when you have a FC room the leader of the FC can held you hostage inside the FC. losing the 300k investment and some of the furniture for being kicked is still better than this.
there was a story were the FC leader was away for a couple of months, just logging in once in a while to keep the leader status. the FC grew bigger and bigger in that time, people were of course not "anti-social". then the leader came back, took the stuff of the FC for himself, kicked most of the people out of the FC and removed the right to enter the FC building for the few people left. they were not able to remove their FC room and couldn't leave the FC. but can't find the topic... D:
Not getting into the debate of FC room vs apartement.
Just wanted to ask: can you have a house AND an apartement on one character, like you can have a house and a FC room?
I really like the social aspect of the apartements, the lobby and all that gives off a student dorm vibe :D
But I won't give up my house before Ishgard housing finally comes around ._.
Yea those of us in Balmung can forget about it.
Seriously, when we say in 20 mins all houses are
gone, they're gone. Oh well, WoL still homeless!
I don't think they may have as much problems as the rest of us, the population there is a lot smaller than NA/EU.
That's a horrible assumption. There have been threads on these forums and elsewhere of leadership changing to someone else and that someone sells off the house and/or starts kicking everyone out. You can be perfectly nice and social and still run into the issue. The FC rooms are a risk for anyone that isn't the current FC leader.
I for one plan on holding a recruitment drive for my FC on Diabolos since our RC house has plenty of private rooms for people who can't get their apartments. We've been meaning to expand anyway and that's gonna be a pretty good selling point lol
SE clearly has no clue what they're doing. -_-;
...I think one of the purpose for the apartments is so people who don't have a home can instead try to get one of those. Of course SE think's greed isn't real and they are thinking people who own homes ( not directing this at you) will just not get a apartment in respect for the one's who missed out. ( Like myself) of trying to get a house. This isn't fixing the real issue at all.
This is what happens when you do a literal read. I guess everything IS lost in translation on the internet.
I would agree that it's rude and also a cheap excuse to try and shift the blame to the players versus SE's poor implementation with housing. Balmung is one of the Legacy servers, so a good portion of the playerbase had no choice but to end up here (if we wanted to keep our 1.0 characters). And even those who came here after launch, heaven forbid they wanted to play on a populated server or one that is good for RP. Perhaps SE will get their act together one of these days and figure out a way to make housing available to all of their players, regardless if they play on a ghost town or the most populated server.
Aren't these just like FC rooms for the FCless?
One would hope that the apartments are a bit bigger than the FC rooms... or as someone suggested earlier, pay x amount for a small, x amount for a medium and x amount for a large... but until more information is made available, all we can do is speculate.
Lavender Beds: 1 building per ward x 24 wards including subdivisions x 512 apartments each = 12,288 in total.
Goblet: 1 building per ward x 24 wards including subdivisions x 512 apartments each = 12,288 in total.
Mist: 1 building per ward x 24 wards including subdivisions x 512 apartments each = 12,288 in total.
For a grand total of: 36,864 new apartments in game.
Why complain about anything!?... If that's the number then everyone if not most players, including alts and whatnot, could have their own apartment!...
I just hope we can buy one in each city!...
Another thing to consider. With the exception of overpopulated servers, are Apartments all that much in demand as we are thinking on paper.
Mitigating factors we need to consider is those who already posses some form of personal spacing, be it a Free Company Room, or a Personal house.
While there are some small Free Companies (mine among them) that own housing, many more posses a large number of players with personal rooms, satisfying the needs that Apartments would already fill.
While I carry no illusions to the fact that 1536 apartments will fill the current void. The number of current active players needing personal spacing may be smaller per server than we anticipate.
Something to keep in mind. And, now that the formatting for apartments are done, we're simply waiting on server limitations, most like.
Face it, we are mostly agreed that SE did housing improperly, but the course is set at this point, and they are long past the point where they can pull out on current investments and restart the project. This is a small improvement on a bad situation, but it is still an improvement.
As a homeowner I'm actually feeling guilty about wanting to buy an apartment. Then again my server's kinda small so it might not be that much of an issue but...
