Didnt take long for the elitist group to lay claim to the PF, now only "Clear" groups exist also why ilvl 210? What good is slapping 5 extra ilvls going to do...all it does is add maybe 10-20 extra stats.

Sephirot EX has been out for enough time for many people to have practiced most of the fight. It's not unusual nor elitist for there to be clear parties intent on clearing.
There's nothing stopping people from making learning party listings btw. In fact, the last thing I did ingame before logging off tonight was participate in one.
any extra DPS is extra DPS and any extra healing is extra healing. Same way that relic farm parties were iLvl 190 to 200 minimum. People set the minimum to what is actually easy to get and most population will have, but is as far above the minimum iLvl of the instance as they can to have an easier time. I wouldn't put it past people to set it for iLvl 220 minimum as soon as servers start consistently hitting that without needing to buy your gear off MB.
What i don't like is the whole No bonus or Farm no bonus...yea cause a random PF with no coms is not going to wipe at least once. Just hate this elitist if we wipe once its end party mentality on lich. Also fact is in 7 weeks time + lore the weps are outclassed and Savage will take over aagain
if the whole server is pretty much synced, they're not. On the other hand in bonus parties you have no idea how many bonuses will actually sneak in. And especially with Seph Ex watching a video and knowing the fight is not the same as being able to clear it.
That being said Odin pugs seem to manage Seph Ex, A5s and A6s at the same time as there are pug clear groups for all 3 types of content.
I finally got my clear after spending 2 weeks in the pf. Somethign I noticed this fight require a lot of synergy compare to like thordan. I seen group that does amazing dps but they don't work "well" together,
Yesterday I joined on PF a pug party for Sephirot EX. The comments explisit said it was a clear party, the one were you expect most ppl know the fight from top to bottom and where mistakes could happen only on phase 3 right? Maybe a little mistakes on the early ones but something that happens one time and thats it.
Well this group I joined were doing constant mistakes on phases 1/2 , ppl dieing on orbs, not stacking or adds not killed enought.
After too many wipes on early phases I asked nicely to call it for today and they refused, after more wipes I asked to call it again beacuse we were not doing any progress. Lets remember all it supposed to be a clear.
Well people starting to left and suddently all putted the blame on my lol. That I was an elitist, that I was a "king top 1 that I consider myself above all others" and I was brining morality down and making everyone feel they were usefull.
Then it begin the insults and the "you are childish", "you want perfection", etc, etc
Did I was rude? no ,Did I said anything bad?no ,Did I wanted perfection? no , Like I said to them. I just wanted to call it beacuse we were not doing any progress and it was ssupposed to be a clear party, were its expect that people know the hole fight.
Currently I'm plagued by too much work so I can only train Seph on weekends. I'm on phase 3 and already made some progress there. But it is really frustrating to join P3 training groups and don't see Phase 3 for the whole 60 minutes... Why do people joint if they are clearly first timers or just have no clue?
At this point I'm very close to just paying some people to teach me the rest of the fight lol
I've been very busy the last few weeks and haven't had time to learn it outside of my static. I do think one shot abilities seem to be overused, but i have always thought of that.
I'm still trying to deal with the tank buster of the small phase. seems to require a lot of cooldowns.
I have finally reached P3 loop!
Soon... If I can find the time to actually practice again xD
A bit harder to learn than Thordan EX due to chaotic nature of the fight (sudden Yesod, Da'at etc, comepared to Thordan where everything is split neatly into each KoR), but after you've learned it, then it became much easier than Thordan.
Also doesn't help that most people still can't do Ein Sof (Big greed puddle) + 7 x Ratzon right, therefore, less chance to practice on P3.
Did finally clear it and managed to farm 9 clears (saw the Orch roll 3 times, bird once and got my weapon and BLM weapon :D) but Earth Shakers seem to be the death for all teams I join or try to help. They can do everything perfectly but I dunno whats up with ES. Maybe its that shining icon that mesmerizes em?
Finally had some time for running this weekend. Progressing into third phase, which seems easy, but people seem to keep messing up the towers. Only PF so far though.
Our FC made two statics to reach endgame content. Yesterday was my first try and we reached phase 3 :)
1% tonight. We should clear tomorrow, but if not, the minor upgrades from Midas Tuesday should seal the deal.
Still making the same progress as I am on my new server not really getting any further than I did on Tonberry. Did play with a JP group and they were pretty good with co-ordination.
Finally cleared the dungeon on Monday!! Was pretty joyful about finally beating the shit out of Sepiroth. XD
I also accidentally went into a jp practice group before but luckily there are some who speak English. I taught them the ropes and in a few practices we manage to get to pinball phase. Nice and friendly peeps. They thanked me for the helpful tips.
Tbh, I felt this game is all about in sync with the party members. My cleared party was all focused on beating the dungeon. No snark nor salt.
2nd storm of words comes out we burn the boss as much as possible, ignore all adds and storm of words. Me as a dragoon, I did the last lvl 2 LB on boss. Afterwards, stack infront of storm of words to be blown towards boss than dps him till he dies.
It was a pretty clean fight. We always stack up in case for yesad so we know where to run. Maybe I might start farming Sepiroth now since I already collected Ravana extreme and Bismarck extreme mounts XD
Working on it with my static, but with members not showing up on time we're kind of at a temporary stand still unfortunately. The Sephy music is still awesome though.
While I do empathize, there is nothing stopping anyone from creating a learning party in PF. All it takes is a little bravery. Believe me, I was scared to make PF groups at first, but it's really a no-brainer. ^^ However the "wipe once and end party" mentality is something I will never ever understand. Everything has a learning curve.
Just did my first night of Sephirot EX and we got it down to sub 0.1% on our final lockout. We're gonna clean it out tomorrow night and let it rock.
I love this fight. =D
Moved back to Tonberry after having no luck on Masamune.
Any tips on what I should do in PF? I do put stuff like Phase 3 + and 1 loop experience but sometimes you find out later in that people have never seen Phase 3.
Should I be more strict? Don't wanna come off as an ass, be no better than the NA's
I finally cleared it and my man advice to those getting started is: Phase 1 blobs are the hardest part. They're basically the only RNG in the entire battle, so they can be a bit scary. Don't get disheartened, just communicate where you want to be beforehand and don't assume everyone knows - this goes twofold for healers, since there's basically only two spots for you and I can't tell you how many times I've been run over by OTs.
Other than that, it's just all memorization and situational awareness. And trust. Lots and lots of trust.
My own experiences in PF tells me that if you don't at least get to wind cleanly on your first clear through phase 1-2, you're probably not going to be able to get close to clearing.
Sometimes it is what you have to do. We were tired of running it over and over and having the same people cause problems so we took hard looks at everyone who messed up or who caused us to die for no reason (lack of heals after Tank buster or AoEs, hitting us with EarthShakers). Once we cleaned up the group and got rid of the dead weight we were finally able to clear it. It's not being an ass to ask people to be on the same level now that its been out for awhile.
Got bitched at per /tell when for Thordy in week 2 I asked in my PF "XP until after meteors, no firsttimers"...
And yes often asking people politely to leave helps. When tried clear for a friend I rather disbanded though and reinvited including the 1 guy via PF that was capable and we cleared and farmed.
Made it to 1% past week, then never found a party that could do it again. Mistakes happen, but people should know that progression =/= clear.
I still haven't attempted him yet. My main reason was because I failed on the ex striking dummy. After getting some Alexander gear and Lore gear, I feel ready to start beating that guy with a book.
Going to finish my Alexander gear ups for the week and start reading guides today. I hope to beat him! If anyone has any tips for a SMN going in there, I'm happy to take them.
I was finally able to clear it this week and only by having connections. I joined a farm party where a friend vouched for me reaching enrage already. Practicing the fight everyday for two weeks I was pretty confident in my abilities. So low and behold they let me in and we cleared on the second pull.
My advice is try and find friends that are at farm status, and join their groups. If one or more people can vouch for you hitting enrage/<10%, then you might have a green light and get a group of experienced players.
P1:
1) Use 1f2p-opener, then ruin2+deathflare can be used as soon as you have to move out of the three puddles.
2) place shadowflares clever -> when on the edge for those jumps, place it more to the middle so you hit him too when he gets pulled back to middle.
3) Use ruin3 [i]often]/i] espicially with a bard
4) when moving back to middle U can use virus after first AoE to cover the 2nd one + tankbuster + cleave (only if sch doesn't do it or didn't do it earlier)
5) delay third stack of attunment aa much as possible, so they last until after you're spread out for Ain+Ratzon.
P2:
1) DoTs only on big ones, while burning adds with ruin3 (alternate targets), painflare and deathflare.
2) try to carry over 3 stacks of aetherflow for 2nd opener. If not possible get attunment to 3 with the last hit on the last add. You can use then ruin2+deathflare when you have to move.
P3:
1) u can virus sephi shortly after earthshaker+yesod and cover da'at+tanktowers
1) use DWT, regardless if aetherflow's still on CD, when the two tank towers appear (and the first AoE without buffs go off)
Ofc after you position yourself to the place where the blue pushback circle will be. Else you're probably forced to use it during pushbacks, which is not that good.
Honestly, I'm so over this fight, I'm starting not to care if I ever clear it. Phases 1 and 2 are a breeze, but once we get to the wind/add phase in phase 3 (right before the hand swipe), it always goes to hell.
Yeah I have noticed that is when most people seem to fumble it. What we did was have healers in the middle and either go up towards Seph or back towards wind while all dps stay on the right side of wind. When the flash goes off they switch to the opposite side and tanks can bring the adds back to help with the storm (granted only 1 or 2 strikes) and allow mass dps on the adds.
I looked back over the footage, looks like these healers stacked with the dps and moved with them. I recall originally having healers in the middle for the sake of Medica but I forgot during this phase we had a healer each focus a specific tank.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYwKbgakyzo Just skip to about 2:50
I run with Rena Ryuugu (A.K.A. AlphaWolf) pretty often and we are often in the same boat together. We get as far as 3% enrage wipe, over and over and over and then we haveto leave they clear and then wont run with us afterwords me and him have easily timed out this fight 30+ times or more. It recently has made me so frustrated i didnt play this past 3 days. and just got on last night for a few moments. Its so simplistically simple but some how we always end up with 1 (or 2 dps down) and even if i manage to burst the storm down we just never have enough dps to actually kill Seph EX he just knocks us off and we start all over. (this is not to take all the blame off me as i have done unmentionable a couple times... didnt see earthshaker and wiped the party)
My other biggest issue is the massive amount of people who wont shut up during "clear" parties.
Waiting until you get a 230 weap is one way to go about it, but honestly, if you're consistently hitting 5%, I'm under the impression that something's just wrong with how each group member is doing dps in those phases. Are you using two lb3s? We usually get two before he summons the second storm
