And considering all the spoilery crap is in cut scenes...
But no, if you want to caster LB the two bosses on A1, do it when they come down from the jump. They both are RIGHT NEXT to each other until they're repositioned.

If you have lb3 you can hit them when they're spread out. If you have lb1-2 it's easier to just use melee on the one withlowerhigher health.
Edit: sry for the typo, but cmon my point was obvious
Using melee LB on the one with lower health has resulted in more wipes than any other use of the LB I've seen, including not using it at all. It's better to use it on the one with higher health so you don't insta-enrage the one with 5-10% left.
@OP - it's kind of rude to not watch a video and then expect people to explain mechanics. :/
Just because some people are Frenchies or Japanese or whatever that's not American doesn't make them to automatically shut their mouths.
I've seen a lot of 'Murica that are silent as hell, only to open their mouths to.. *shocks* flame when it's failing. <-- see the trend here?
So you have a biased view, no wonders we have so many interesting encounters in PuGs.. >.<
Glad you were able to meet good peeps that were helpful along the way. Hope you'll do the same for me and every new 'first' when we"ll be joining you for Alexander, one day.
I'll let you take your own advice and direct you to Google to investigate various styles of information retention and learning. Not everybody picks up a new skill through reading text or watching a video - others need to actually experience things first hand and then learn how to do something correctly.
As a tank myself I'm rather happy to explain tactics if need be since it serves as a refresher for myself - especially if I'm tackling content I haven't touched in a while - and because it usually results in a smoother run than letting new players run in blind. Paying careful attention to the 'new player bonus' is important - if I don't see it then I don't bother asking if anybody is new.
Wipe. Did not explain enough, aggro'd adds like a good tank. Got shrunk. WUT DO.
Wipe. Did not explain enough. Cleaved group. Aggro'd all adds, and died. WUT DO.
Wipe. Did not explain enough. Healers died to tether. Add came (also a hand!) and I faced towards group. WUT DO.
Wipe. Did not explain enough. Touched healers while grabbing balls and got a debuff that I spread to the melee. WUT DO.
Oh look I wiped every turn because you didn't explain enough. Must be hardz. SE nerf normal Alex nao!
DPS at fault. Grab faster.
Healer at fault. Cleave nonfatal.
Other tank at fault. Blame for tether, and reluctance to grab both hands and MT the whole encounter like a man.
This is okay because I never need to do A4 again.
If a healer is blamed because they couldn't heal through a nonfatal cleave that should have been avoided in the first place, then I guess they should also be blamed for DPS dying to non-fatal dodgeable AoEs. Positioning is a tank's role. If someone in the group dies due to lack of correct positioning, it is NOT the healer's fault.
What spoilers are there on watching the Alex bossfights in a video anyway? None of them have anything directly to do with the meager 'story' going on in there.
Grabbed adds faster. Still shrunk. Then a bomb blew us up. WUT DO
Cleaved second tank too. He kept yelling something about stacks. WUT DO
Other tank also following this guy's instructions. WUT DO. (P.S. Instructions did not mention tether)
I still need A4. WUT DO
Bur they tell me I'm fighting robots and goblins and water! Clearly spoilers!
Interesting how the opinions on the expectations of DF vs PF have completely flipped in the last 4-5 months.
Back then the vast majority of posters touted DF as the new player territory and experienced players should expect to have to explain fights or go form a PF group so they could have a flawless quick run.
My how times have changed...
Not you, silly. The DPS needs to claim faster.
Mechwarrior pilot at fault. Debuff gobwalker so it dies before stacks are a threat.
Maintain original position that other tank is at fault.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yea a lot of people are doing alex normal for their weekly drop so they might have to do it 4-5 times to get their drop and prob don't want to explain the fight each time, so I understand where they coming from. The easiest way is do what you did, ask a friend or FC member to go with you and explain what you need to do.
When I was farming Alex NM, i was setting up PF groups because duty finder was getting pretty annoying.
Sure, but purposely gimping yourself is no-where near the same territory as under-performing because you don't know any better. One is not knowing the fight, the other is active trolling. But by all means go and make a fool of yourself if you think you are proving some kind of point.
Obviously you don't understand the point of an analogy. In no way are they supposed to represent identical things, but used to illustrate a point through commonality. In this case, the point is that just because you say something about it, it doesn't make it OK to be inconvenient to others. In order to make the point clear, I used an exaggerated analogy. Unfortunately, it appears it made it less clear for you :(
It's definitely a much better indication than randomly calling him American without ANY indication that he is, the people calling him an American are definitely showing some sort of American resentment by assuming Americans are the only people who bad mouth other countries and being blinded by it and not even reading content just assuming.
While I despise the watch video first mentality that surrounds this game, it is what it is. The nature of the game makes it this way. What is the difference in a video teaching you a fight or another player texting you how to do the fight? Nothing, either way someone is helping you know the fight. Going into a group of random people and expecting them to spend their time teaching you a fight from scratch is completely unrealistic. Its just the way this game tends to be. Run with people who have a similar mindset, or just take a few minutes and watch a guide.
woooolf I would come with you, I went full friend group with my main character, but with Aelya I am trying to get in with DF; ^O^/ (still missing a2, a3, a4 with her)
But gratz on taking it down!
When the content is still super new I don't mind them not bothering, because often there aren't good guides for all roles immediately.
A month or so in? Yeah. Either watch one or man up and admit you're the new guy.
Nothing more annoying than wiping because my co tank or the healers are new, don't ask for help, don't watch videos and don't say a damn thing. Then proceed to ragequit.
Had a group do that on story Ravana earlier. Other tank held a few of us hostage after the wipe, "no cary no party" and aggrod the boss to keep us from dropping to require.
Ended up reporting his ass and getting a mostly FC run to get the new I was with(who did watch a video) their kill.
Think of this as a bigger picture. SE started to include more depth in mechanics to this so called Story Mode of Alexander.
For those who basically only tank and spank, spam random heal, or blatantly dps without learning more to optimize their rotations to their level 60. You are "intended" to improve, by any means, causing a wipe to the group if you don't meet the tanking/healing/dps check.
This is nothing, the first time I tired A4 was before ESO gear was out. I went in, said I was new and didn't know the fight, we wiped because someone marked one of the adds with "1" so as a DPS I naturally attacked it first, (and so did everyone else now that I think about it, because the other two adds came over as well). Immediately after I was kicked with no warning. I was enraged and made a rant thread on here, which I rarely do, but in the end stuff like that happens. For whatever reason, people in the DF will want to instantly get enraged if everyone doesn't know what they're doing from the start, and it's rare that people don't kick someone or vote to abandon after just an attempt or two, regardless of the circumstances.....
Or it could have mostly been a "no one reacted to the statement I made in English, because most of them were French non-English speakers" comment.
As for his name... This is an Arabian wolf. (For those who can't be bothered to click the link, it's a sub-species of grey wolf, found in the Arabian peninsula.) In other words, his name most likely has nothing to do with where he's from.
Doesn't matter what you're fond of or not. Only facts matter. If you bring them together and they're are stunned in time and debuffed accordingly they won't buff anything. That requires someone who knows how to use the car. It should also be the melee with the lowest AoE capabilities, which always lead to ninja if there's one in your party or monk if it's the only melee or if the combo is drg+mnk.
