Skills/spells you see no reason to use since you got to 60?

Any fight you needed Paeon in order to keep attacking its useful. Several Coil Turns and Primals fall under that category (at least, before overgearing the fights, and assuming phase pushing to prevent preventable breaks). Alex 2 3 and 4 can as well, depending on phase pushes and DPS.

Foresight is one of those initial hate skills I use pulling a group, Tomahawk > Junk ability to grab initial hate on adds. Plus it lowers damage taken by like 1/17th of a percent.

Now that I don't know. I'm definitely no expert xD And it seems that rotations for BLMs are still being toyed with. For AoE openers I would assume the answer is still yes because the Flare nerf wasn't as huge as people made it out to be.

Ruin - only when synced very low, otherwise Ruin II and Broil are way better.
Emergency Tactics - I really don't see a situation where a shield is worth less than pure HP.
(somewhat) Dissipation - I can imagine that it can be useful in some situations, but I am yet to come across one.

I have also stopped using Stoneskin at all, Succor usually gives around 60-80% of the shield Stoneskin would, is faster to cast and is AoE, yes it's somewhat useful when used before an encounter, but most of the time it just feels like a waste of time.

People saying abyssal is useless.
Id take ranged overpower over damaging flash any day of the week.
Not to mention it does more dmg per cast.

That'd be cool and all if it didn't cost a buttload of mp for being 20 potency stronger. :V

Its probably good for an initial ranged mob pull but that's it, At least for me.

Benediction has been and is often more then not a life saviour or even wipe saviour. Also, you have to keep in mind that there had been a problem with casting benediction sometimes back that even if you pressed it , it didnt go off, now that has been settled. If you dont use benediction, albeit, at a last resort or in an emergency situation due to its cool down, you really arent doing all your best to try and keep everybody alive. I dont use it all the time but when I use it is just about a real life saviour, it doesnt remove the fact that the guy can die anyway but at least you tried your best.

Dissipation, on the other hand, I tried to use it once out of you know trying to use it and see how it works, not Worth it, that is probably THE most useless skill they could give us. You gain some more Healing power but the loss in mana to call back your fairy once CD is over and the risk involved depending the fight you are having is kind of not somethign I would take again.

The cost per potency is pretty much equal. Abyssal just does the job done faster.

oh wait I never really found it worth using and im not even 50 let alone 60, needs 4 targets just to barely beat the potency of blizz 1 and even that's only before you unlock F3 to quick switch back into astral without waiting on transpose after your mp is back

The only not so useful Spell I find is Scathe, you can use it in Movement of course yet the Damage is well ...
Dissipation has it's uses, combine that with Illumination and then Dissipation + Emergency Tactics = The next Adlo or Succor (When it crits) does a hell amount of Healing (Adlo goes for 12-14k Heal)

Emergency Tactis is a pretty God-Tier Buff in Alexander Runs such as A1 when both Supressors just landed or the big Attacks after each Leg is killed from the Manipulator.
The Great thing about this one is, whenever it crits, the Not-Shield Heal will crit as well ^^

Thing is, you give the people the EXACT same amount of health as with the shield, just without a chance of over-healing. As long as the target gets hit within the duration of the shield, the result is the same.

Tri-Bind. There aren't really game mechanics or situations where an AoE bind is super useful, especially with the associated cast time and cost. The damage is pitiful and bind can be easily broken, so it can often be rendered useless. Tri-Bind really just has no good application. I wouldn't waste a Swiftcast on it.

Freeze suffers the same fate, in my opinion....there's just no good reason to waste time casting it over a damage spell instead. 1.0 Freeze was nice as it was a nuke with a built-in hate reducer. It would be great to have it reverted back to that, or have it changed to be a persistent AoE like Shadowflare.

What I would like is if Tri-Bind were adjusted to have a wide range and pulled enemies to its center. It would work well as an opener ability (or in phases when new adds pop) to gather mobs for the tank as well as setting them up for a Bane/Painflare/Death flare or whatever. I had originally hoped for a "whirlpool" attack of some sort from Leviathan-Egi that would draw mobs together, but it looks like new Egis aren't happening.

Costs less mana, is instant cast and might eventually outdamage stone III due to it's DoT nature and how spell speed works. If you cast PoM and do Aero, it should do more damage than stone III (supposedly, haven't tested it myself :P).

As for my SCH...Ruin and Ruin II seem useless atm with broil.

Havent used Quick Knock in a long time. Honestly, I dont even know if it has a cast time with WM, though im assuming it does. It was a horrible skill when it was all I had, now it just goes unused since I got Wide Volley. They should cut the TP costs a bit, give it a 5-10 sec CD and make it an oGCD for heavy AoE fights.

Quick Knock is Superior line up correctly its the same damage and costs less TP.

True but its just plain DPS while the others come with other perks. Then there is the range (8y vs 25) and the fact its a cone I cant even aim with which means there is a good chance ill miss a few id otherwise hit. All to save 20TP? /shrug

Not worth it IMO.

Exactly what i was saying about distance.
Quick Knock does not always hit all targets and in aoe ground attack situations Wide Volley can still be used while avoiding getting hit.
The whole thing about tp cost is not relevant if you know how to manage your tp.
Anyhow this thread was not made with the idea of people bickering, i know it's the se forum and all and that is what people do...

All Specialist skills from crafting.

Mostly because it's redundant. Unleash and Abyssal Drain mostly serve the same purpose. Not a whole lot of reason for both to exist.

I agree with this, although I'd rather keep Abyssal and get rid of Unleashed, or at least give Unleashed a separate additional effect like a slow debuff or something to give it more of a point.

eye for an eye, deployment tactics, what just what you're a bad healer those are good damage reduction skills, sustain, so you'd rather your fairy waste heals on itself instead of healing someone in the party who took damage, miasma two is good for groups of mobs

It's because Thunder is the prefer choice in the rotation or Thunder II depending on your spell speed. It has a shorter cast time mainly, but Thunder III is too long and cost quite a bit of mp. It matters even more now because of juggling enochian.

The galvanizes made from deployment tactics almost always run out before they even become useful, eye for an eye is 20 chance for it to work and when it does work its only 10% not 20% or 30%. and miasma 2 is something i don't even use anymore. I used it doing on the leveling but not anymore.

I know I'm not the best but I'm not a bad healer.

I suppose it's because I've only got my BLM to 60 last week. I've done like 3 Neverreap runs on my BLM only, with my accessories still only 160. So I don't even have a rotation to speak of and I have almost no meaningful sample against which to compare my performance, as all the bosses in Neverreap require a lot of movement with phase changes. I do plan to do dummy parses on my BLM once I get my Law accessories, though, as that seems to be the most commonly used set of gear when people share parse results.

You are supposed to use Deployment Tactics for Ultimates, Raid-wide AOE, unavoidable stuff like the Bismarck Carapace damage, etc. You are not supposed to just randomly put it out and hope the people that are not supposed to get hit, will get hit.

And Eye for an Eye has a VERY high chance to proc, it lasts 30 seconds and has a 20% chance to proc, if the target gets hit more than 5 times during these 30s, it's pretty much guaranteed. And 10% is pretty big when the enemy has some hard hitting, common attacks.

You do your usuall opener, blow all your Aetherflow stacks on Energy Drains, make sure Fey Wind is up, use Dissipation and gain another three Energy Drains, if you Swiftcast your Shadow Flare after your first Bio your Swiftcast should come back around with being able to re-summon your pet. Your White Mage/Astro should be able to solo heal during this time on most fights, so the loss of a fairy Isn't bad, the timings will change with fights that have multiple mobs such as A2 though.

Also out of mana? No Aetherflow? Blow up your pet! It is a really handy oh shit skill, I guess people just haven't learnt how to use it yet.

Energy Drain's gives a bigger return of mana than what it costs to summon your fairy, you use your new Aetherflow stacks on these as Lustrates are unaffected by the buff from Dissipation.

It's just an oh shit button really, although it's really handy in A2 Savage if your Tank's hp drops while he has Prey, or if a big hit lands with poor mitigation. I try to let my White Mage handle the big healing but sometimes he needs a hand.

Ruin is only good for low level, but Ruin II is good when you are using Energy Dain's, Swiftcasting or popping Aetherflow. Broil uses a whole GCD, Ruin II is instant so you can weave spells without disrupting your GCD. Broil when not weaving Ruin II when weaving.

Why so obsessed with weaving?
Broil is 170 potency. Ruin is 80 potency. How much time are you gaining by weaving a non GCD skill/spell or buff? At most like 0.5 seconds. That's 1/5 time of an entire 2.5 seconds cast. Let's assume for a moment though, that weaving a non GCD skill/spell or buff saves you an entire second, you are still not even saving the time of half of a cast. Why on earth would you prioritize doing an 80 potency spell in 1.5/2 seconds over a 170 potency one in 2.5 seconds?
