The true end game goal now is to afk in idyllshire with your ravana ex wep drawn.
Every other zone is kinda empty as 70% of the endgame population is bumming around in idyllshire.
it amazes me sometimes lol

I didn't read past the OP but endgame is worst now then 2.x unless there is a huge spoiler coming with savage.
Watching BG fight twin, Nael before everyone was cool. Seeing Phoenix and bahamut for the first time was awesome.
Alexander is meh and we already know what's coming. Nothing exciting or gated. It's going to be the same 4 uninspired fights with a few FU mechanics thrown in. Unless Tiamat comes plunging through the room in A4 savage this will be the worst endgame raid yet in terms of hype and lore.
Good for you
FFXI had Dynamis and Sky on the Rise of the Zilart expansion.
Then they started adding more with each expansion.
Chains of Promathia

Sea

Empty Notorious Monsters (ENM)
Treasures of Aht Urhgan
Salvage
Einherjar
Zeni Notorious Monsters
Nyzul Isle Investigation
Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survey (level 99)
Imperial Seal Notorious Monsters (ISNM)
Salvage II (level 99)
Wings of the Goddess
Stronghold Notorious Monsters (SCNM)

Meeble Burrows (Meeble)
There were also:
Trial of the Magians
Voidwalker Notorious Monsters
Voidwatch Notorious Monsters
High Notorious Monsters
Abyssea
Delve
Skirmish
I'd say give them some time, this is the first expansion afterall.
Though... it doesn't help that the content they create gets outdone so quickly because of the vertical progression. That's the path they decided to walk through though... but can they make content fast enough to keep up with that model?
Was waitin' on this response.
'STOP RUSHING!" Please stop using this argument over and over again.
You realize, most of the people here have been 50 for 2 years now right?
The first 60 took me a bout 2 weeks and now it's lame. It takes no time to get to 60, and gearing is cake...I've just started Alex like 3 days ago.
Here's what you do in HW:
You FATE grind till nearly 60 [first follow story], and do two dungeons 5000 times, then do ezgg Alex.
It's literally like the beginnin' of 2.0.
What did we have in 2.0?
WP/AK for weeks, then coil.
So I'm guessing...next route is, 24 man, then make a HM version's of these dungeons and literally re-run what happened in 2.0.
Already got the EX Primal's.
They really need to steer away from repeating the same crap...over...and over...and over....The game is great, but come on now.
People are tired of re-skins with light diffculty bumps. Why not give us 4 mans that actually fun and hard to do? Or 8 man dungeons that's as long as 4 mans?
More 24 man contents? More choice in the dungeons? Do this and that to get X Y or Z boss. More interactions with the dungeons. Open world instances.
Why even add Hunts behind anything? They don't require team effort it's just dumb.
Something new! I'm hoping this expansion does a lot of things new than what we had in 2.0. ARR shoulda been called. "A Realm reborn and visited 6 million times over again with a slight change in scenery."
I won't nip at them now since it's the start but I'm already seeing a pattern here. :/
I think my main compliant is HW really didn't add anything on top of what 2.XX had. Larger zones are nice but still empty of any true content. No group based Leve. No Hamlet defense, sorry but FATEs are just as boring as 2.XX. No open world dungeons that people asked for. MMO's need a balance of DF and open world activities. HW still relies too much on DF.
Open world dungeons with bosses would be cool. Rare drops too.
And give to end game hears like the law equip the slots.
One thing that i don't really like about this game r the restrictions. There aren't builds here.
Not denying that they could add more with end game, but what you find easy is difficult or challenging for someone else. They could definitely add more variety though.
What we really need is 3.1 Everything will be okay then.
I remember when I finished the 2.0 Main scenario with the Praetorium. The ammount of stuff to do whas frankly overwhelming. Coil attunement, CT attunement, hard modes for the 3 original primals, hard mode dungeons, Odin, the continuation of the main scenario, the relic questline which was actually pretty good for the first phase of the weapon, the postmoogle questline and Hildibrand.
Granted that was during 2.3 so there was a lot of stuff to catch up to so I had no illusions that 3.0 will be anything like that, but ya know as fun as Neverreap is it gets tiresome when you run it three times a day. I'll guess I'll do hard mode Brayflox and Halatali and unlock hard mode roulette. Least I won't get the same dungeon over and over again.
Clearly if you don't think there is enough content to tie you over till next patch your kidding yourself
Here are some things to do to
1. Crafting this will take you a month maybe longer depending on how long you do it for
2. Hunts gear upgrades
3. Lvling multi roles to be flexible with content
4. FC airship
5. Triple triad card collection
Just in these 5 ideas will take you a good few months without a job in real life
Stop crying and experience all aspects the game has to offer they have done plenty to keep you going till there is anoither patch release
You are complaining already? We haven't even got 3.1 isnt it a quick to judge? Stop playing so god damm much.
I'm new to this game and there still so much to do. Maybe(and it sounds like it) you've just been playing for so long that there really isnt much left in game for you to do.
Go play outside. You earned it.
Maybe in this theme park of a wonderful game we could just get some horizontal progression??? Just maybe that would spice up EG...? Allow the players to have 2-3+ options for EG style play and builds....man that would be awesome!!!!
I truly am sorry if I come as off salty here, I try not too but it doesn't help sometimes I'm not trying to call you out at any point so try not to take offense... if you do, I understand, but I'm more upset with SE not learning than I am people enjoying XIV. You're free to love XIV, just as I am free to be disappointed in it. its like a Parent who loves their kid but is sad they became a stripper. I don't hate XIV, I still love it, I'm just disappointed in the direction its going. Make sense? Okay, okay. Moving one.
I leveled my craft to 60, working on two more... but to what purpose? For the Worthless achievement points? SE already said crafted gear won't be nearly as good as it was in 2.0 to not overshadow raid gear... So level crafts to... craft useless junk armor? Its not your fault the armor is going to be sub par, its SE's, I don't understand their logic in making crafting useless outside of ... I guess... Airship parts and furniture?
This is more of a case of "Forced to do it" rather than "Want to do it" for almost everyone... and its not because I don't like the idea of killing NMs, NM hunting is hands down my favorite idea and concept in the game, its just the Hunt system is one of the most poorly implemented things in XIV right now, and they haven't improve it one bit. Everyone hates Hunts, almost universally. The daily/Weekly ones you get from the board can be a nice distraction, good exp, and decent gil, I really like what they did with those... but the A and S are universally referred to as the sh*ttiest thing about FFXIV. I think to clarify what I'm saying here is the idea is good and it should be improved upon, not copy and pasted from 2.0 with no changes aside from now every zone has TWO!Quote:
2. Hunts gear upgrades
Leveling isn't content. But I like that we've come full circle and people are saying exactly what they said when this discussion came up in 2.0...Quote:
3. Lvling multi roles to be flexible with content
I've done this... let me tell you how it works. The entirety of it is literally, you get 4 people in your basement and one person clicks "Yes" on a menu only he can see. Then you wait like 4 days for it to return on its own with a handful of crafting materials you can sell for about 20 gil a pop. Until we can actually fly the Airships and do content with them outside of "Click yes to win"... They're not worth bringing up. They're essentially gil-sink retainer ventures right now. Workshop looks cool though.Quote:
4. FC airship
I kinda agree here, I actually love Triple Triad, or I did before XIV ruined it. I understand removing the "Pick one" when you win rule as it would make collecting too easy... but with Random, Roulette, card restrictions that NPCs don't have to follow, the game goes from my favorite side game in a Main series Final Fantasy... too an unfair unbalanced, arbitrarily restricting RNG crap fest of a game. Not even the soothing awesome melody of "Shuffle and Boogie" can help me forget that "Random" is a rule that in its entirely reduces TT from a game of strategy to a game of dumb luck.Quote:
5. Triple triad card collection
And the thing is, The problem is content shouldn't be only about "How long will it take?". People here aren't so much upset that the content isn't long enough, its that its just... boring, a repeat of everything we already had to do in 2.0.. Think about it, half the things you named were the exact same things we were doing in 2.0 to pass the time, is it not at all sinking in that this is exactly what the complaints are about? Yes, we have this wonderful expansion, but two weeks in and everything is exactly the same as it was in 2.0+. Hunts for upgrades, Dungeons for Base armor, Raids for high end armor. Its the same thing over and over. Thats the complaints people have here.
I do log in to do some of the things you mentioned, I got goldsmith to 60 because nothing else felt fun... then I started up Miner again (its 57), and its nice too, but to what ends are these?
Also you forgot Treasure Maps, though I don't blame you, most people forget they exist too lol... Those are fun too, I just wish they had more variety... like maybe occasionally a Map will spawn a harder "NM" Enemy, that will make the end chest yield better loot, or simply more of the rare loot. Would be really fun popping a chest to see a Named-Boss mob spawn instead of "Territorial (X)".
Check another "Stop playing the game and it wont be boring!".
FFXIV is fine. I am so glad I don't feel obligated to log in every day. The last thing I want is a game I enjoy to become a second job where every second I'm not logged in doing Content is detrimental to me.
LOL, no, people in here are complaining about that exactly. That there isn't """"enough"""" to do. That is explicitly a complain about time to completion. They are literally complaining that they only log in for raids, and do nothing else, and that there aren't enough raids for them to do(that they don't need to spend as much time doing raids). Or they complain about the time required to hit level cap(not enough time spent leveling).
I'm genuinely sad to say I can't honestly tell if you're being facetious or not :I
Blaise I did enjoy your reply XD . But I do like what they have done with the gathering and crafting side I actually enjoy crafting now do to the amount of options you have
I agree they need to change things but they can't just drop everything and start from scratch to keep everyone happy . They are slowly making things different starting of with the crafting and gathering with script hand ins and a variety of ways to lvl up
I assume things will change over time don't jump to conclusions and say there creativity is terrible like a copy paste for a school project
Making a large scale upgrade in minimal time so players don't whine wouldn't be a easy task
Raids and primals will get ajusted over time to keep players interested hopefully soon but we can't expect elitist to cope with the lack of endgame raid content when they probley live in there mums basement no job and live on a video game
I like how this comment provides absolutely no debate towards this topic. Just because YOU'VE just started the game doesn't mean we have. A lot of this community has been playing since launch. If I just started this game, I'd be overwhelmed too. But that's not where most of us are. Most of us are BORED as crap in end game.
Also, just because someone clears content fast doesn't mean they play a lot. Some people are just smarter and more efficient with their time. Some people can clear content faster with less time due to a higher skill. And again, we are solely talking about ENDGAME here, not all the stupid fill bullshit(alts, crafting, gathering).
Yet you complained and was hootin' and hollering about actually having stuff to do but didn't wanna do it.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...g-a-new-player
So take a seat.
Why are you bored tho have you completed 100% of what the game had to offer or are you whining because you only finished the parts you want to do . Think of the players that only play for msq or crafting or beast tribe questing all players must have content to play not just elite raid players like yourself
Justify your answer
Lol, I'm not an elitest raid player like you're labeling me. I don't even have a raid team. I have friends that are highly skilled and we just happen to down the challenging content fairly quickly. Again, like I've told Pikachu Pizza, we're strictly talking ENDGAME here. (I swear you kids are missing that I keep saying that) I believe this game has content for everyone and I partake in as much of it as I can/want. This game has plenty to do but when we're talking about ENDGAME, it's very boring.
I don't do crafting and I don't level alts. I have my favorite job that I play and master, which is BLM. I also have a gatherer that i'll eventually get to. I love Triple Triad and collect a ton of cards. I hunt FATE achievements just for fun. I'm doing content just to fill in my time for fun. I'm not WHINING, I'm simply stating as FACT that the endgame scene is very boring.
Nevermind the fact SE still hasn't learned how to give us ways to level alt classes once we're reached max level and have no more MSQs or side quests to do.
Even if I were to find enjoyment in grinding each class to 60 (1 at 60 ilvl178 and 2 more nearly there, 56 and 58) there's just nothing to do when I finally get there.
I get it, the theme park formula works. But when you release an expansion that feels like a content patch with a price tag people are gonna be a little salty when they run out of content in a week CASUALLY.
You really have no idea what you speak of.
Daily roulettes, levequests, fates, duty finder, challenge log and whatever else I forget - oh daily hunts too
Tons of ways to get EXP for your alt jobs.
You just don't want to do any of the work.
Also dunno about you but if you completely set aside a huge chunk of content because you're not interested in it, its your own damn fault.
Have you unlocked all crafting master books? All Gathering Folklore books? No? Oh there's something to do.
I see a whole lot of whining and complaining and absolutely no suggestions on what SE do instead.
Seriously, if you're going to ***** and moan, at least say what you want. Because right now, you sound like little people who don't actually know what they want.
Right? I mean they added the MSQ line, alright fine. It was actually a decent romp.
3 jobs that are overall lacking compared to the existing classes, MCH isn't much better than BRD, DRK is the weakest overall tank, ASTs BY DESIGN heal for less than SCH and WHM.
More stuff for crafting, but tell us how none of the end game craftables were going to compare to the Law gear, something that's EASILY obtained! Why bother crafting then? For airship parts? For nobody but the person running the FC to use? WHY!? And even then from what I've been told it's not even worth it.
Otherwise what did this expansion really add that we had to pay to experience? We're still waiting for all the rest of the content!
How nice of you to assume that, let's look at this by the numbers shall we?
Any of the roulettes played once daily give an average of 16k xp, another 16k if you're playing something that's needed (On my server that's usually tanks). Basically shit xp for the entire run and a pittance of xp at the end.
How much do FATEs give in NT after 50? 14k, much less time invested.
How much do bosses give in HW dungeons? 40-100k depending on which one.
Hunts not much better than FATEs, which are only done once daily.
Also, new classes don't have challenge logs. Old ones don't progress past 50.
Boring players...
Well you better go make your own mmo because your dreams won't come true Cinderella
Coil of bahumut was fantastic
Bismarck ravarna where awesome
Neverreap best dungeon I've run
Good quality endgame content that I still enjoy after farming multiple times
Go play Pokemon bro you might enjoy that
LOL! I'm not your bro, bro. First of all. Secondly, You're acting like I haven't done the same content as you. I've done it, it was great, it was fun! BUT! There's no replay value! There's no variety. There's nothing else outside of that. THAT makes a boring endgame experience.
I come from Final Fantasy XI, that was my first MMO and the one I have the most experience with. Compared to this game, Final Fantasy XI had a MULTITUDE of endgame raids. This game has ONE! ONE thing for us to raid. I don't think you're understanding at all what we're even talking about.
