Hey guys, also from Singapore, so what is the best option now for pre-ordering of EU Heavensword CE digital download?
About the play-asia.com do they have Collector Edition?
Yeah I just check it from NA site there is no problem to buy a stuff.
The restriction only from EU side... OMG can I transfer my EU acc to NA?
I don't mind buying new copy but I want all the data from this EU account are transfer to NA is that possible?
I don't want to start from scratch, the grind and RNG is pain and 3rd party way purchasing method kinda annoy me.
you guys need to stop thinking that just because something can be sold as a digital goods item it doesn't still have limitations on where it can be sold and for what price.
Companies pay a good amount to be the only retailer to service a area or country
some countries just don't get sales at all.Korea doesn't have FFXIV at all you cant even access the server no matter what you do because of the cinderella law that stops minors from playing from playing from midnight to 5am adults can but because SE did not include a korean SS verification process to lock minors accounts during those hours they blocked it for the whole country. Some of the south east asian restrictions are due to the fight against RMT. But all i see is people just blaming SE they have worked hard to make the game available to as many people around the world on pre-order as possible. If you are one of those outliers you might have to wait till its in a local shop instead of having it as a download or pre-order.
When FFXI launched in Japan i got the game a month or 2 after i had it mailed across had sent money to a friend to pay at 7-11 for my account so i have delt with these things before dont give me the excuse its easy for you to say. There this i have to wait for from other parts of the world. its not all about instant gratification.
whats wrong with waiting like the SE rep said you should do buy getting it in a local retailer?
Because it's not easy to find a local retailer to import it? This "local retailer" is not the same as Gamespot or what shop that gets copies from SE directly. These "local retailers" need their own contacts in US or EU to buy the game, send by mail and pay for mail and import tax. It's not easy to find one.
And this is the difference. When you meet a problem, you are content with band-aid solutions. What others want is to get to the root of the problem.
once physical copies are out call the local retailer ask them to open said copy and read the key to you after you have paid for it via internet.
they will be happy to do so as long as they are getting paid. and avoid your import tax. Once again you just have to wait.
Your paragraphs are difficult to parse, you might want to work on that but not as much as your critical thinking skills because you seriously took the word of someone employed in the profession of PR uncritically.
Geo-blocking is a well known practice. This is clearly geo-blocking except, unless someone from an actual PAL region can confirm they can't buy from the NA store, they hilariously messed it up by making it so you are only prevented from buying from the more expensive regional store. There are no serious barriers because digital distribution at any store that has joined the 21st century services Singapore just fine, which isn't Korea and I'm not sure why you are talking about some country no one has mentioned thus far but if that's the limit on your knowledge on gaming in this incredibly diverse part of the world that's ok. SE on the other hand has an organization structure that defines regions in a way that made sense when I bought sim city for the SNES (and even then it was debatable), one hand clearly doesn't know what the other is doing, and they struggle with "logistical issues" that steam seamlessly doesn't have.
If you learned basic critical thinking something about the whole situation should feel amiss. Or maybe the problem is that this forum has enough white knights to start a crusade.
Again you and your band-aid fixes. People want a proper solution because it helps a lot. It would definitely help in getting more players who refuse to join currently because there is neither a way to buy the game nor register an account properly. It also helps with soothing worries. Look at it this way. They placed an IP block on EU stores which didn't exist before. There is much more they can still do to those without proper access which will cause even more problems.
I don't know why you want to bring in Korea, which has problems with all MMOs out there. No other MMO out there excludes the SEA market. That includes SWTOR, WoW, Rift, Wildstar, GW2 and many more. All of them give access to SEA players unconditionally. They just have to put up with ping and currency. See why people are unhappy about it?
Not to mention your comment about blocking SEA for RMT. Last I heard, RMT was from China. And a fat load of good blocking the entire SEA region was in solving the RMT problem. Must be why I don't see any complaint threads about RMT on the forum. The only thing blocking SEA succeeded in was preventing legitimate players from playing properly.
Also hahaha "no I know what regional geo-blocking is like I once imported a game from japan, 10 years ago when the world of e-commerce was radically different".
Argh getting things from Japan in California is so hard, truly the backwater of video game distribution.
If you would like to know i was force to reformat what i had first wrote due to being 500 character over the limit. The Korea was an example of a country that was originally going to have access to the game but due to a law didn't end up having it and is locked from buying or connecting. A major reason that they are blocking the sale to south east Asia is to prevent Chinese citizens from playing on non Chinese server. For several laws pertaining to morals and gaming laws that have been imposed.
Also the term Geo-blocking is normally only used in terms of media not in terms of regional sales. This is region locking of game accounts to Eu, NA, JP,and CN. If you are outside the official support area's you will have to wait for physical copies of the game to be imported. Digital goods are still not a right to you in any way you look at it. If that import cost more that is the cost of bring that product to your region there is overhead in shipping and licensing.
Also for you attempting to quote me as saying Geo blocking i never said such words. Importing a Game 10 years ago is along the same line as what is happening now.
Source please. You still have not mentioned a single country in the south-east Asia area as an example but I know geography is hard for Americans. I'll make this easy for you because you keep on throwing a dart on a map of the world and picking a country as irrelevant as the last: What exactly in Singapore law is the issue here? Saying singapore can't have the game because of China is about as geographically relevant as saying that the United States can't have something because of Panama.
You are wrong.
Nope.
What do you have to say to all people in this thread saying that they are buying from the NA online store no problem?
You know if you don't know what you're talking about the smart thing is to say you don't know what you're talking about and not paint yourself into a corner.
Oh my gosh. This only proves you have no idea what you are talking about.
SEA is not part of China and China is also not a part of SEA. The only country with a Chinese majority is Singapore and their population is very small compared to other SEA countries. And there is absolutely no such "moral and gaming" laws that you mention besides laws on online gambling. Please know what you are talking about before spouting nonsense.
The more you post the more I realize you have no idea whats going on. So, please don't embarrass yourself further and stop.
I'm not calling China south east Asia you dimwit. Southeast asia is tiawan, singapore, indo, philo, viet, mianmar formally know as berma.
and yet im not going to take the time to go and spell them correctly. If you had read the thread for more then just when i popped in you would
know this is only an issue when ordering from the EU vendors for people that have account linked to EU account. Also i would like you to know that
because SE has the game Cross platform with play station Sony has a'lot of say where and for how much PS4 can be sold for Because they must have
their cut. And seeing as it is 4am here ill leave it at that because i don't have any more time for some one like you Sarcasm you have the mindset of a socialist
and it wont be changed.
Holy crap. Taiwan is not a SEA country. Please stop. What the heck has PS4 and Sony has got to do with this? And what socialist mindset are you talking about. We are the ones arguing against SE's decision and you are the one taking SE's word and yet we have a "socialist" mindset? Wow. Please research on what socialist means first and please get some knowledge.
You say SEA isn't China but you mention "Chinese Morals in SEA". Please stop contradicting yourself. And brush up on your English.
Haha I was called a socialist, can you be any more American?
hmm, this topic pop just in the right time
I'm from Indonesian myself, and having a wee bit more problem
for certain unknown reason, back in 1.0 I have a UK account, not EU. I paid in poundsterling. i notice one of the poster post that s/he paid in poundsterling. my question is, do I buy the EU version? since there's no such a thing as UK version of Heavensward
You can easily buy HW's digital (or even classic) from elsewhere by using Paypal or any credit card.
eBay, Amazon or any online-shops.
I'll wait until release then.... I'm not really rush to pre-order with all this hassle method.
4 days early access doesn't mean a thing to me because my play time is not that much on weekdays anyway.
I buy ARR PC Download version from third party seller, but I wish to have a hard copy that I can display on my rack.
Especially they give dragon statue with that pre-order, actually I feel bit disappointed about that.
