I'll give you A for effort and just say this would be the split. Basically you would go with this. This way you still get accessories for groups and you just pick one in that group to prioritize gearing first. This encourages people to play different job sets and at the same time helps by somewhat spliting the things. But what I'd like to see is that left side would be split further more so that each job would get it's own unique left side(sans belt). I'm tired of the fact that my pld looks the same as my war and that my whm looks the same as my sch... Then I would say go 600/week cap with each group having it's own set of tomes.

That's a pretty horrible justification. There's nothing outside of Coil that you need to be above ilvl 95 to beat, but I don't see anyone purposely lowering their ilvl to what's required in order to win. I haven't seen people in Expert Roulette switching to full CT gear and base relic weapons. People didn't swap back to Darklight gear and Garuda weapons for 2.3's Expert Roulette, either, that I ever saw.

As someone who enjoys playing pretty much any role I highly approve of this idea. It's rather unfair how much faster 'hardcore' raiding groups gear up rather than people still stuck in progression. one drop of dreadwyrm loot saves the lucky recipient ~2 full weeks of saving up poetics for an i130 piece even. Sure challenge shall be rewarded but I think even an increase by about ~100 would help me NOT having to settle on a single endgame class.

You don't even have 1 endgame class because your not doing endgame. There's no 'settling' going on there. How is it not 'fair' again that people clearing high level content get high level gear faster and people who dont, get it slower? (But you still get it eventually anyway mind you)

Why do they need to? If you aren't doing Coil any activity is tuned for either fresh 50 or you are synced to 110. So actually no... they don't need to offer any 111+ gear outside of raiding.

The Experts are unsynced, the High level dungeons are the ones with i110sync.

Poetics is endgame for me besides the weapons so 450 per week is a good number. Also, at end game we're not supposed to have the latest/best gear for all classes. End game is about 1 role you dedicate to.

I see very little reason to up the cap of Poetics to 600. Raising the cap any further than it currently is, you might as well just remove it entirely and just let people grind to their hearts content. Gear alone doesn't make the player. You still will need a competent group to complete Coil regardless of gear. The fact that there are groups out there that can clear T1-T5 of Coil in i55 gear and T10-13 in i110 gear is evidence enough that it's not gear bound. Gear helps, but you still need to play your role and have others that do the same.

Did someone seriously beat t1-5 in i55 gear without echo? For realz? That's crazyness.

Possible yes. Possible for anyone but a group of veteran raiders playing at 120%? Not really. Even after this content is all on farm I doubt any but the top 10ish raid teams will be able to pull off a 110 t13 clear.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Other than grinding gear, since you're "locked out" of Coil raiding once a week, what else is there to possibly do that you need for gear for? As someone who has 3 i110+ and 3 other jobs at i100+ before 2.4 came out, I am very curious as to why. Additionally, I have an Alt character which did clear T5+ before 2.3 came out then I got lazy and stopped.

Since we can only enter Coil once as week with a group, generally most people enter on their main job. Since you're locked out, you can't go back in with other groups on other jobs. What's really at stake here? Is this for people without groups that are doing PUGs and want to go in each week on a different job?

600 makes so much more sense as this game was advertised around multi-Job.

150 more in a week won't break Eorzea people.

They should up the rates to match so it takes approximately the same time-investment.

Yes. The videos seem to have been taken down but a large series of people watched it via twitch.tv stream when it happened.

This isn't even an argument. The game FULLY supports multi-job. Hell Every OT in 6-9 has a perfectly viable dps off spec. Most groups NEVER used 2 tanks on T8/9. And T7 was quickly shifted to a 1 tank model. T6 was of course delayed due to gear/dps requirements.

You can get every class to ~111 in a weekend if you want.

^for the 10000x, it's about the principle of the matter. Not that you can't get outdated or (in some cases) inferior gear on "sub-Jobs".

You have this idea that a game that touts multi class support means gearing as a many jobs as possible to the pinnacle of their capability. That is not what multi job support means.

Level another class without creating a new toon. This is HUGE. You can play another class without doing story again. Without leveling sub classes again. Easily share items between classes since it's one toon. Farm items in 1 class to support another. (I can farm shiva or tomes on my war but use gear/tomes on my nin instead of logging in another toon for example.) Shared points/resources (things like char wide PvP ranks, GC ranks, commendation pt etc), and on and on and on and on. You can change your focus on a dime at any time and main a new class (I'm maining a class that didn't exist a month ago with no penalties of any type). Can you imagine saying I want war PvP gear. /ranks up war PvP to 50. Man that nin gear looks nice. Levels new char. Do story again. Unlock primals coil etc again. Rank up GC again. Rank up PvP again. Jebus. No.

You can't do that in wow. Or any other MMO that has 1 class per toon.

Multi class support does NOT mean play everything at the highest level SIMULTANEOUSLY. It means the freedom to shift and change as you please, try out new things without ever being bound by the class you chose to start with. This game has that in droves. You have such a narrow definition that really is starting to smell more and more of shinies faster than taking a step back to see what this game really offers with its huge flexibility.

I'm not talking about artifical difficulty and you're completely missing my point. There IS nothing outside of SCoB that you need to be above ilv 95 to beat (you can even beat T6 and T7 at i95), and right now all your alt jobs can easily be 110. I'm trying to point out that unless you're doing FCoB, the need to get to ilv 120-130 so fast is completely unnecessary due to the fact that being ilv 110 is considered overkill for 98% this game's content anyway, minus MAYBE T9 (not to mention the echo we're getting). If you cannot beat stuff outside of FCoB at 110, then gear is DEFINITELY not your issue.

Every other major patch, we get an ilv increase and only 1 dungeon that is tuned for that ilv. There is absolutely no need to gear up faster than SE is letting us. We're only on the fourth week of 2.4. The old cap used to be 300, ffs.

Why not ask for price reduction of gear by 33% percent, 330 for boots instead of 495?

The 450 cap is directly related to the priced of the items, this is intentional. You don't get to change one without making the corresponding change to the other. In which case it is obvious that roughly 1 item a week is the goal of the current system. I don't see a good reason to change that to be faster or slower.

Also, the ability to switch your MAIN class/job per patch. For example, everyone who switched their MAIN to Ninja in 2.4. I imagine people would've been pretty upset if they had to re-level another char and farm the gear to just be get back into end-game. Let alone that SE made the Striking Gear have DEX so that people could switch if they wanted to. SE could have just as easily said, nope, you have to go get "Scouting" gear from SCoB to join your static in FCoB. Go spend hours farming prior content if you want to switch.

Nah, I get your point, and I even agree that it's an accurate point. i130 gear is unnecessary for anything outside FCOB. It doesn't matter, because people don't play to collect only the necessary gear and then stop. People play to get stronger. Once a group proves that they can beat T13, for example, there's no need for that group to change anything about their gear until 3.0 launches; yet I can guarantee that they'll continue to gear up their mains for the next however many months it takes.

Now, don't get me wrong, I have no issue with the rate that we can gear up our main classes (though I kinda think having tome gear start 10 ilvl below raid gear is silly, but w/e). My only minor complaint is that unless you're buying shared gear, you can't gear up your main and an alt on the same week. If I were going to change anything about the system, it wouldn't be allowing 600 spend-anywhere tomes, it would be allowing 450 tomes per role. Note that while this seems like it would make us gear way faster than SE intends, if you lock it behind roles no one role is advancing faster than the current rate. Yes, each player would have more gear (if they grind out the tomes), but no one would be hitting full i120 any faster than they are now.

The issue is that different players have different amounts of time to dedicate to the game. Player A might be focusing just on BRD and have time to get 450 poetics and week, spend them on BRD equipment and master that job.
Player B has twice as much time to spend in the game and has time to get 900 poetics a week (if that were posible) and has devote time to master 2 different jobs.

Why shouldn't player B be able to equip them both properly?

Content pacing.

It doesn't matter if player B has more time or not. They deliberately and specifically are pacing the rate at which a single player can possibly consume the content. On purpose. No suggestion will be seriously considered unless it can address content pacing. It's not enough to say that someone who plays more should be allowed to do more. In this specific instance that solution blatantly ignores any content pacing in favor zerging it as fast as possible simply because you can. Such "solutions" are DOA and would only lead to people complaining sooner that there "isn't anything to do."

If you could't get the best shit in the game playing 2 hours a week they wouldn't have to pace content. Older MMOs the only thing paced was raid target lockouts. Everything else was completely unlimited. Except back then you had to put more effort into getting those things than "Ok I'm going to sit in town and queue for my dungeon tuned 40 ilvls below the gear you can get from doing the dungeon and 2 hours later be done for the week.

the MULTIPLAYER has been completely removed from MMOs. Back then you spent half your time helping other people because hey you scratch their back they will scratch yours when YOU wanted something. Now its just "do your roulette and log" no reason to help anyone else because there is next to nothing they need help with.

With drop rates lower than 1% to keep you going. Once again. Content pacing. Just a different version of it. Content pacing has always been an aspect of end game loot in MMOs. MMO's are based on the concept of delayed gratification after all.

While I doubt that the weekly cap will be raised, it does seem likely that poetics will go the way of solidery prior to the expansion.

Sounds nice to me,specially since I don't consider any of my jobs my main I love them all lol, and like you said doesn't effect how fast people gear their mains.
(well technically it does by a little bit since chest,pants, all are 2 week items and weps 3 but w/e)

It is the greatest suggestion I have read since 2.4

An increase in poetics isn't needed. If you want to really play multiple jobs that's what crafted gear is for. The new crafted 110 is what people used to beat t13. I think You can use it to beat Satasha Hard Mode.

IMO it needs to be increased bcoz the roulettes bonus are not balance.
As it called daily roulettes, it should encourage players to run them daily, it was designed to make DF more active also motivate players logon daily.
However, if someone runs them daily, then Poe will be just capped on the first half of the week
So It will discourage players to run expert roulette as the role in demand on the 4-7th days of the week when they're capped. ^^;

For example:
expert 40+35(bonus) =75
hi-level 20+15(bonus) =35
low-level 0+5(bonus) =5
trials 6+10(bonus) = 16

so 131 Poe for 4 daily roulettes.

setting aside how you are demanding this, provided people were capping each week, you would be able to have at least 1 job fully ironworks and enough for 2 more main pieces(body and pants aside) for another one. then there is also wod, so thats another piece for a main or sub job.
