When I queue up for DR, I understand the random-ness that I may well receive in party composition and persons here-in. I will be honest, I am farming myth tomestones these days for my Monk. I welcome new players, I help them, give them tips, and I don't check gear on others (but then again I am only DPS, haha). I personally enjoy the runs that are more difficult do to under-geared (technically speaking this isn't possible due to average ilevel check) players or those that do not know the mechanics of the dungeon. Makes things more interesting! Sometimes people just need a chance...
I drop dungeons when people are rude and refuse to do the dungeon properly even if it means deaths of players (these said players are not new, or they are trying to hide the fact that they are new). Spending the time in a dungeon with an unpleasant person is not a good use of my time.
More severe punishments? What do you suggest? I already stopped doing the low level roulette because of the massive amount of idiots circulating through it. I can't be bothered to play with level 40 THM's and ACN's.
Bottom line : I'm not doing something I don't wanna do. I'd rather do something interesting than run Pharos or toto rak for the 1000th time.
Low level roulettes have the highest concentration of new players out of all the roulettes. All dungeons below 50 are supposed to be where people learn how to use their jobs properly before hitting the 50+ stuff. You have to be incredibly naive or clueless to actually expect flawlessness or perfection when queuing to those. So yeah if you don't have the patience for that you have no business queuing low level roulettes. Don't waste people's time queuing for it and just strictly stick with expert only.
I was leveling WHM to 50 last week in the doody finder. I had mabe 3-4 Qarn runs here I had 1 or 2 members without a soul crystal. Constantly dying to Taurus doom, bee final sting, and refusing to get out of AoE. Stone Vigil again members without soul crystals. I had gladiator there with 1.5k HP. Daezmel Darkhold? People standing outside of the light and eating eye for me or not dodging frog AoE, dying and complaining. Because I needed the EXP,I tried to stay and tell people what to do with no attitude, until it got stupid.
I'm not gonna help people that won't help themselves.
they just need to make it so if someone leaves the dungeon within the first 5 minutes or so(before you can vote abandon or kick), the other players will receive some special reward depend on how long they waited in the queue.
Won't people just troll until they're kicked to deny the reward?
Today I saw a tank quit because 2 black mage keep asking for speed run, and tank was irritated. I cannot blame him by quit. Funny is to see the hurry of them have been "rewarded" by waiting 4 minutes until other tank appear :P
Gets very frustrating. It's not the new players willing to learn.
Copperbell (Farming Foestriker) LvL 47 Summoner summons Titan. I ask Titan really? No response. Part way the healer starts to get connection issues and DC's I continue to pull. I am dying and Monk in group says. "Heal the Tank". No heal and Summoner says- "I'm not a healer." Hate to tell you at this lvl you have the same heal as a CONJ does. So yes I quit.
Weird. He might as well have tried the boss. The requirement for the atma books is to be alive at the end of the boss fight. By leaving he had to wait 30 mins before he could queue again. I don't understand some people...
My former FC boss would be like this. As soon as roulette was introduced he would run as tank.... not Titan story mode? I'll just afk till they boot me. Sure. Probably saved himself 10 minutes there. ... good job. Guess what, NO ONE LIKES YOU NOW
Sounds like the making of yet another summoner that puts out no dps and will never raise anybody cause its the healer's job. I despise seeing summoners in DF cause its one of those jobs where if you don't know what ur doing your gonna be doing extremely bad dps when compared to even below average players playing the other dps jobs. Don't get me wrong I know smn is a powerhouse job when played correctly, its the played correctly part that eludes alot of the smns ive seen. Just because you put up all your dots doesnt mean you can just stand there twiddling your thumbs waiting for them to drop off. The spell ruin does still exist last I checked. And you can't even tell some of these ppl anything cause they flip out about being told how to do their job when you are only offering advice to maximize their sad dmg output. Not even talking about beginners who are learning doing sub level 50 dungeons either. I'm talking ilvl 50+ people doing HM dungeons like this. By now they should have grasped the mechanics of the job they've been using for so long.
tbh ive quit dungeons as a tank for reasons i shouldnt have. 30 min. penalty is quite lenient imo because i can easily find something else to do in game for a measly 30 min., or just take a break and come back a bit later. i dont feel punished at all and queue times are just about instant.
Easy fix, make it so once you queue to a roulette, whatever encounter you get your stuck with till you complete it. Leave or DC? when you queue it again you get same duty.
This won't help for ones that leave legitimately and eat the penalty...

On the other hand, if they eat the 30 minute penalty, well, I don't think anyone should be forced to stay. AFKing/DCing at start is just scummy.
Even if they don't say anything, if they AFK or DC at start, I would still try reporting it because GMs can probably see if this person makes a pattern of it or if it's just a one off. I looked at my character's files and AFAICT logs go all the way back to when the character first enters Eorzea.
The problem is tanks fishing for an in-progress run. SE's dungeon finder is literally the worst system I have ever seen. No other game does this - one tried, saw how fail it was and immediately patched it - but in XIV it persists.
The way to solve this is remove the "Join Party in Progress". Everyone gets filtered into dungeons as slots open up, in-progress run or not. No one can see how many bosses are dead. You want a full run? Queue up the dungeon by itself.
And then fix the design of the dungeons so they don't take 30 minutes to an hour. That's too long for a 5 man dungeon, nevermind a 4 man dungeon. 15-20 minutes is about right for fresh 50 dungeon roulette content. Raids should be long, 4 mans should not.
If player dislike low dungeon (in roulette), better go do some of 3 new dungeon. Also give 100 Myth. Today I saw a tank quit in first pull in Cutter Cry. I presume was penalized in 30 minutes. And when arrived other tank (after 1 minute), we finish dungeon in 20 minutes.
Then I hope you're prepared for people to simply unsubscribe from a game that doesn't let people get a choice. The 30 minute penalty for leaving is punishment enough. To force people to be stuck in one duty until it's finished, whether they like it or not, is a great way to drive people away since they don't got a say on how they want to progress.
And getting forced to stay in a specific duty after you get kicked? Really? What makes that a good idea?
If people quit over atma, then they will leave over anything. Being forced to do something in a game you don't want to do is disaster waiting to happen.
Forefiting the bonus for leaving is more than enough.
Its so easy now to get myth that you don't necessarily need to rely on roulettes anymore to accumulate them quickly (even though they were never the most efficient way of accumulating them time wise). That's why I don't understand why people queue to the roulette when they know that there is a distinct possibility that one of several dungeons that they arent enamored with may come up. Like why are you wasting your time queuing to something that has stuff you don't wanna run? Are you that desperate for the laughable amount of gil it yields for being the job in need/roulette gil bonus?
Except nobody is forcing you to do the roulette anymore than anybody forced you to get an atma weapon. I cant stand doing CM anymore so guess what? I don't queue main scenario roulette anymore. Its also ridiculous to compare the grind that is atma farming to queuing for and running dungeons of which most can be completed in 30-40 min assuming you got a bunch of new ppl with you (in which case SE even rewards you for the longer time spent guiding these new ppl by giving u extra myth), and much faster if you don't. I do agree though that forfeiting the bonus for the day would be enough since it would prevent them from being idiots and queuing again and having the same situation repeat itself. Thus minimizing the amount of people's time that one elitist wannabe can waste.
I did many dungeons as dps and as tank but never got to 1h since the time of first temple of quarn or the first run at amdapoor keep
If you run now many 1h+ dungeon maybe... it your fault?
Plus i'd rater go on with a tank that play poorly cuz he's annoyed (who cares, a decent healer will keep him up anyways and i shot things down quickly) then have lost the 40+ minutes of queue for copperbell hard for that shitty book WASTED cuz the tank quitted, and if he do it he must be punished equally to the problem he make for the other 3 players
This is multiplayer. You are not alone. You want to whine about your rights of play the way you want? Go single players games. Where other ppl are concerned your freedom end when start other's freedom. Rulette are ment to let ppl get past of annoying dungeons no one queue anymore. They are not there as free daily gift for egoistical players. You help other ppl with those dungeons? You get the bonus. You are liquid s*it that want all gains and no pain? You should get punished enough so you don't do it. And if you are one of those s*it that quit copperbell saing "you better off without me you s*it?" YES, we are better off without tank like that queuing
