Sorry but people who rock level 90 content should be far ahead of people who run lv.55 content a few times a week. if you dont want to do coil but you want ilvl.90 gear, there should be multiple ways to obtain it, but equally as difficult. If you can get the best gear from doing nothing, then what would be the point? What would you use this new shiny stuff for? to do the same lv.55 content a few seconds faster? sounds like a very interesting and long lasting game to me.

and then people seriously complain that they cant lv.90 multiple job with myths at the same time. literally want to max out every single job by running wanderer's palace in a short amount of time?? really??

OMG, people complaining that Coil drops are as good as AF2 need to chillax. For one thing, to get the full AF2 set you need to cap out mythos for months. Secondly, there are many people who can't get groups for Coil because the Coil community has become a bunch of elitists that only take players who have beaten it before. Well how are we supposed to beat it if we can never get groups? See how logic fails here? Why would you remove the alternative to blowing hours trying to get into a group that doesn't mind taking a new coil runner with them and still win?

If they "Do" change all Allagan gear to ilv95 not just a weapon I would be ok with that. I have 4 pieces of relic and next week going to buy the body even if change is going to happen. I'm not going to sit around and not get relic gear because Allagan is better. The better gear you have for Coils the Easier it becomes. So don't let A change stop you from gearing in Relic. And if your having a problem with T1 find a new group.

Like I said getting Relic gear is not a waste. The more you have the easier coils becomes. Unless you have some mad luck then don't expect to cap out in coils gear any time soon.

Guys there also upgrading myth gear...go back and read the post yoshi made on the fourm. He said myth gear will equal allagan gear because he wants everyone to have a chance.

then you have gear just as good as the coil gear.. but you have 0 endgame experience and youre still bad, then what? beginner coil groups gather all the time. plus you could always make your own. But to say that you shouldn't have to do hard content to get the best gear because you are too soft to learn how to do it is ridiculous and detrimental to the health of the game. What happens when ilvl110 gear comes out and you have to do content harder than coil? are you going to cry that you cant obtain it from WP? If you didnt take part in coil and learn the gameplay lessons it taught you, its unlikely you can handle content after it.

What is it you play for? Is it to tackle content? or do you seriously play just to run WP? people seem to be afraid of ilvl55 content not being able to produce top-tier armor, and its ridiculous. Has anyone ever heard of a nascar driver too afraid to drive over 65 winning a race?

Wrong, there are still plenty of ways to obtain good gear, but if you want the BEST gear you'll have to run the hardest content. Go figure.

This is just QQ'ing about not being able to run mindless dungeon grinding and be on pair with Coil raiders anymore.

I posted about this before as well. They can make the model transform to be more powerful and for the stats to change.
None of that really matters.
All I'm talking about is that I don't like magical gear from boxes with no context.

Relic upgrading is the closest thing to a sense of gear permanence and symbolism. I think they should milk it.
And forget about anyone who disagrees with me.

At least making upgrades to the gear drop from boxes gives the sense of that you're using the power of your enemies to improve yourself rather than say.....picking up a shirt from the giant dragon twintania.

In some cases yes, it currently is better. It depends on the piece however. Some are interchangeable because they have exactly the same stats. not trying to be a D here, but you should really consider GW2. Its very similar gameplay, plus you can spend 2 days farming gold and buy a full set of dungeon level gear, plus alter its looks.

If you dont like the RNG, there SHOULD be a dungeon token system, but you should only be able to obtain those tokens from THAT dungeon.. allowing you to get ilvl90 gear from anything less was a really bad move to begin with

I love how you are saying we want best gear and not do Coil because we are, as you put it "soft". If you read my post then you would know that it isn't because we are soft it is because nobody that does Coil successfully wants to run with someone new. Just doesn't happen anymore.

Really hope we can get some clarity in this change and if it is going to actually impact all Allagan items as we have been passing Allagan to secondary and tertiary jobs because main jobs already had the slot filled by mythology items.

I played GW2 till end game. It's a decent game, but I don't like it nearly as much as this one.
Also, I don't think it should be as easy to get gear as it is in GW2.

For example, I'd have preferred if AF1.5 was obtained from Coil. There would be items in the box that turned your AF1 gear into 1.5.
That is gear permanence. If an allagan chest dropped off Twintania, the item to turn your AF to 1.5 would've dropped there instead.

Allagan could have been the vendor gear.

That's not going to happen, but that's what I'd have liked.
GW2 is very different. And I also didn't like their end-game very much.

Do what everyone else did, should to make a beginners group or watch the videos over and over and pretend youre experienced.. It cant "not happen anymore" because yesterday i spent an hour at the toll and 3 different groups were gathering first timers for turns 1 and 2. Also, shout that you want to start a coil static, I did that and its worked out great.

i95 gear for allagan gear why not , but with the actual lock out system , i desagree , because only luckiest players wil loot , game only designed by limitations and rng , i don't find this funny but frustating .... and that more when all weeks same ppl get their loots when u didn't touch a single peace of gear for month -_-.

This, we arent upset that AF +1 and coil gear are on equal footing, we just think its strange that you can get this stuff from an ilvl.55 dungeon that has been completed in 8 minutes. The difficulty of obtaining comparable gear should be comparable

Clarification please, devs. If you had them both at the same levels since launch and are now trying to save that hardcore sub by upping allagan, you are going to really piss off...most people. If you wanted the game to be this way, it should have been at launch, not 3 months later. I wouldn't mind if allagan were ilvl 95, but I would like another option to get myth to that level even if it involves getting some kind of material from coil to upgrade each individual piece (then the number qqers can shut it) in the same light, if it does get upped, that's a big middle finger to crafting unless we get ilvl 90 or 85 crafting which is unlikely because Yoshi apparently can't add BoA materials to Coil in order to give crafters something to do which would also avoid RMT since you couldn't sell it. I dont even care if they have 4000 quality thresholds, I just want to be able to make epic, relevant gear with my crafts that have millions of gil worth in melds and hundreds of hours worth of refinement in them. :/

Here's a tip for people who cant get into coils cause they have no experience.... LIE LIE LIE. Get on youtube watch some videos over and over if you have to, Don't show up in Crap gear, Know your job don't be a noob, and tell them you've been to coils before (LIE).

The problem is you get people who expect other to go in and one shot runs doesn't always happen. Mistakes happen.

If you have issues with getting into PUGs can always make a static group and then work on it have the right jobs and the most important thing about having a static is make sure people are spending their myth tomes on the job for coils.

People seem to be forgetting that CoB turn 1-5 is all there is going to be until late Feb early March. So even with crappy luck/RNG that's the only end game anyone is going to be running so over time people will get gear.

I for one hope that they change all Allagan gear to ilvl95. But still doesn't change the lockout.....

They add a way in the future for us to upgrade AF 1.5 to AF 2. I know AF 2 is coming out and if I have to farm it from scratch with Alagan gear having been buffed I'll be very upset with this game, and totally let down at the direction in which it is traveling.

I guess I make up the minority because imo FFXI was the Best MMO Ever made up until Wings of the goddess. It had it's flaws, but it did so many things right. If I could have that game with FFXIV's user interface and some instances I'd be living in heaven.

Err Getting Relic is much much much easier that beating Coils (let alone Twintania) so it kinda makes sense that those weapons are upgrades to relics +1, why else would I run Coils it I can get the same thing by spamming WP or AK every week?

So after reading way too much of kids bitching about not being handed the best gear in the game it should be noted that this game works on stat tiers. So, unless SE makes ilvl 95 drastically better then ilvl 90 it wont automatically make it best. More then likely it will be better but i mean as a tank one vit to lose a tier lvl of anything isnt worth it. So, get over it.

Oh, and for those complaining they wasted their mytho on gear/+1, you then saying that gear hasn't helped your group at all?

I just dislike if armor iLVL is changed half way through. I wouldn't mind if in future coil was always half a tier higher, but I feel bosses should drop armor tokens then. The accessories and weapon can still be random drops, but the 5 main armor pieces should be token drops from Coil bosses that can be exchanged for the gear instead of everything being all RNG. Hoping for now its just the weapon getting buffed since Relic isn't special anymore.

This in my opinion should never happen for the hardest content in a game. You should feel rewarded for doing this content rather than just disappointed by the drops since they already bought the myth piece equivalent.

If you aren't excited about the possible drops from the dungeon, it takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it.

Agree 100%, there should always be something to look forward too. If myth = allagan, the moment you have the mix of both you want there is nothing left to look forward to. I know several people who are already full i90, not full allagan mind you, but full i90. With allagan going to i95, at least those people will have a chance to go for full i95 while we wait for 2.2.

I will greed roll something if I can wear it but its not BiS. How I got my Allagan Legs today.

While that's true... if there's nothing considered BiS it means everything is pretty mindless in gearing. BiS is determined by the best equip for the stats you need to always hit/give you the most mitigation or dmg :/, only bard/sch varies since they benefit more greatly from crit.

This is a back door melee buff and is a change that should not be made until they fix the drop rates of some items.

Every BC group is almost REQUIRED to have 2 tanks and 2 healers. Each of these two roles shares drops within 2 classes (WAR/PAL)/(SCH/WHM)

Melee classes and bards however, have no one else to compete against on loot. Additionally they have had a great many months of having a very poorly designed Turn 1 chest work in their favor. If the drop rates are equivalent across all items then, on average, the melee dps will have higher iLvL gear than even caster DPS(Who also share drops) and much higher than healers and tanks. This is a poor design feature. Everyone involved should have an equal chance of getting their drops.

There are a number of ways to solve this. First off, Accessories should be shared across DRG/MNK for sure. As the classes value different stats, the changes should be on the LEFT SIDE gear. I still can't believe SE split the accessories.

I have a feeling if Yoshida himself said weapons, then its weapons only. I hope this is the case...it makes me sad to see AF obsolete. At the same time though...yeah stuff that comes from the hardest content should be the best.

try enterring CoB with someone that did'nt beat Titan HM (you cant)
try killing CoB bosses with i70 weapons
and if titan is an "hassle you had to run quadrillion times" you're not close to see the coffer that drop better weapon

then just need to swap skin and names between alagan and "af1.5"!
there is now way something you can get farming point in the easiest "end game" dungeons should be better than drops from the current hardest content

and get used to the gear you worked hard to get being replaced, it will happen every 1 or2 update

only valide complain is people who passed Allagan because it was not BiS

Additionally, Tank and healer loot should have a higher drop rate. They make up 50% of the group for every group. I am sure it is possible to solo heal a turn or 1 tank something, but I can only see that happening if people are way overgeared... making the point irrelevant.

Dragoons and monks could share the same armor as well. Add in a dragoon trait that gives a % higher armor for leatherish armor.

Or you can add different WAR/PLD + WHM/SCH gear as well.... Nah, that would be very poor design... Just as silly as the way they set up physical DPS drops. On average physical DPS will end up being the most geared. It should be random. Changing allagan to Ilvl 95 will only serve to make melee stronger (In addition to the buffs they are already getting). 2.1 is the melee patch.

According to the stream, Yoshida did in fact mention this upgrade to item level 95 was to be for Allagan weapons only due to the difficulty of turn 5, whereas the text on the Japanese and English Q&A post indicated equipment in general. Just to be certain, we will double check with Yoshi-P and let you know for sure.
