The only problem with that, is trying to figure out who deserves the compensation. Because to be honest, it would piss me off if that compensated the people who can't play by compensating everyone.

That argument isn't entirely true. If I buy a car, and the car includes a promotion for a Free xbox, the dealership is under no obligation to guarantee that the xbox works. Any and all technical issues with the promotion product need to be handled by the manufacturer of said product. Will a dealership do the right thing to save face? Generally but doesn't always happen.

Plus, consumer law varies state by state, country by country. In the US, for example, our consumer laws are much more lax than say the EU.

You aren't gonna be compensated for time period you aren't playing for. Why should you pick one up? This is the most self-centered statement I've read all day. If you need someone to give you a reason, then you obviously don't want to. So in closing, go fuck yourself. KTHXBYE

If you have ever watched an infomercial you'd realize that the idea of "buy now and you'll get... XYZ" is a tool of marketing. You are paying for that item in the original price. They claim you are getting a value to get you to buy faster. If you were being given early access for free to try out the game without being on the hook for the $30 or $50 ahead of time then EA was a bonus. That's not what is happening. This was part of the advertised content of the package and therefore you purchased the Early Access. If you want to keep deluding yourself, do so. But for the sake of the rest of humanity, please suffer your ignorance in silence.

This this this this ! Jesus at all of the people who are trying to use semantics to justify the current situation because they have nothing constructive to add to the conversation. Early access was used as a marketing tool to incentivize pre-ordering, on top of the moogle cap and cait sith companion. A good chunk of us were charged immediately for our orders, so you better believe we paid for Early Access as part of the overall package.

::shrug:: I don't know, I guess I'm just used to early access and launches of MMOs to be rocky. There have only been a handful that have been smooth, and I've been on this ride since UO/EQ.

Does that mean release was set back to Thursday/Friday or just that you wont get charged until thursday?
