Square Enix, it's time to come clean about your plans for the future

Well yeah you don’t announce stuff during pre-production really square had the issue of announcing stuff well too soon. Also how did it affect things? It was in dev during stormblood yet the game kept growing and had all the content types you lot have been parroting about wanting in Endwalker and going through Covid yet it was fine. Come on now

It’s more seeing how some people have a bee under their bonnet and it wouldn’t matter how transparent a company was and honest they would still believe they’re being done over. Can’t comment on this scenario we are in but it’s how it really comes across it’s so black and white rather then people thinking more openly how development and design work and finite resources is all

We're lucky we're told anything to be honest. I mean, I've known/played games that didn't release any information about anything until a week before they released it. Mostly due to fear of player backlash if they couldn't release content on schedule.

What I mean is we do at least have some idea of what content is incoming, as opposed to knowing absolutely nothing until seven days before it is released.

More open communication with the dev team would be greatly appreciated. If they are working in something else, they will tell it when they are ready to it. Also, working on FFXVI and FFXIV at the same time while still maintain FFXI is already a lot of work.

True, for such a small indie company as Square Enix, they must really be overworked, have you considered making a gofundme for them so we can fund them to have a bigger team ?

I mention CBU3 which is one division of the current 4 they have now. THe CB1 which is Kitase team is with FFVII remake and Kinfdom Hearts 4, the CB2 which I don´t know who lead is Dragon Quest stuff and Nier and Octopath /Bravely Default and that. The CBU3 with FFXIV FFXVI and FFXI. and the CBU4 which I think only handles remasters, ports and that.

Also, Yoshida mentioned he want to make a new IP totally new. So, that's a posibility. It is obvious they work in more things that they say, but a sevice game will still need content and support, so they work in that too at the same time.

Stormblood was in development during Heavensward. It would have affected the next expansion which…gasp, is Shadowbringers, the expansion with the least amount of content. And before people scream “omg covid.” Let’s not forget they had literally stated before the expansion even came out that we wouldn’t have things like hildibrand, they were taking away dungeons, no allied beast tribe quest final quest, no deep dungeon etc. Looking back that was the biggest sign lol.
