What is more strategic is finding a safe spot to use the long potion. People are not looking at the fact
that you're slammed with 5 other peoples spells and AoE at all times. My little damage reduction doesn't mean much
when I have WAR/WHM/SMN CCing me to hell, I can't use anything. Guard is also buggy to me and it has a delay so that is a fail.

Granted, I'm saying this more as a CC player (Shoulda probably mentioned this earlier lol)
where you're in a tiny arena and you're forced to pretty much go in all out.
There's no where to really hide and chasing is bad. It's too chaotic but hey if you guys are fine with how it works that's okay.

I know what it does, it just doesn't matter when you're getting slammed by everything in a tiny arena.
The only classes that have true def skills are the tanks.

I rarely have more than 1 death even when playing melee unless our team is just outright being outmatched which happens sometimes. Ya'll need to record your matches and review them to see why you're getting multiple deaths. Look at when and where you should have jumped in and when you should have started backing out to heal up.

Sorry, but he's not wrong. Most of you all are pretty terrible at pvp. I slept walked my way through the ranks till hitting plat which I regret doing because the queues after plat are 30+ minutes.

I'm not even sure how folks are able to find the time to spam Recuperate. I hardly get that opportunity lol. If I do get it though I usually die on the 3rd spam with the additional help from server ticks desperately trying to avoid being nuked by 3 people...you're actually lucky to be able to spam.

Enough of me though. By asking for Recuperate to be removed you're essentially forcing people to have a near complete reliance on healers. Raising the HP bar may work at a lower level. However, at a higher level it won't matter. If folks know how to burst on the other side you're dead anyway.

Compared to playing offensively you're already get a low reward for playing defensively. 90% guard, and it can be pierced, broken, or even negated entirely. You have Purify, and it doesn't even have the highest priority. How much lower you want the general defense to go?

If it makes you feel any better I was crystal in seasons 1-3. I didn't really bother pvping much on this character when they did the rank resets so I'm grinding through the ranks right now. Sadly the queue times doubled after nearing diamond.

I'm not really sure how adding that effective 60K HP from recuperate to the base HP pool so it can't be "wasted" from dying before you run out of MP would impact the gameplay dynamic negatively.

It would actually work to the favor of XIV's slow server ticks because higher average time to kill means more time for guard/purify to take effect and potentially get you out of a tight spot.
