if they just keep the series/crystal shop updated with the season we would not have /any/ of the population issues with ranked lol
PvP needs a relic grind.
It is much mental gymnastics if you think you can fix a mode by throwing rare stuff at it. What when you got it all?
Only few would use the items if they are as common as a chocobo. The rest of the game is already theme park MMO where everyone gets everything for just subbing.
PvP needs to feel rewarding (and have rank decay). Take LoL for example. Beyond reaching gold, you don't get that much for being higher ranked other than a chroma for the season's victorious skin. Those who hit ranked for extrinsic rewards get to gold because they don't have to maintain their rank in any way, the rest do it for intrinsic reasons, bragging rights and whatever else. Ideally that's how it would go imo.
I see nothing wrong with them adding old top 100 rewards for the new top 100 rewards.
The difficulty is the same, wether you did it then or do it now the amount of players who get them is the same. I really do not see how it's "less effort" unless they add it to the wolf mark vendor which is stupid
If it's really such a big ass deal then they can be recolors, but if you want real rewards for top 100 this is probly the only way it'll happen. so if you don't want CC to die, you have to give.
While I can see the sentiment of "you want top 100 stuff, earn it by being top 100 this time around", which is arguably the only thing I can come at peace with... there are many who will be extremely disappointed and arguably betrayed by Yoshida if their hard-earned trophies simply get put for resale. We put a lot of time into this ya know and a competition / tournament is not a "mom said its my turn with the controller" kinda deal.
...what is there to give from the old rewards? If you want recolours, almost every reward already had recolours. To drop the list here:

Minus the Koro set of which I am like 80% certain has a recolour, essentially every reward on the list already has appeared a 2nd or 3rd time as a recolour, minus the Dreadnought of Season 20.
If we speak strictly unique rewards without recolour/palette swaps (i.e. listed bolds), we would be at:
- 6 unique armour sets
- 5 unique mounts
... from patch 3.26 in Heavensward to the end of patch 6.0X in Endwalker.
How many unique mounts and gear sets were distributed in comparison in that time frame? I don't know the exact number, but surely the number gotta be like tenfold.
To sum it up, the amount of "lost" gear is paltry to the amount of gear that already exists without counting event items. However, instead of asking for the "old stuff" to return, clearly it is prudent to actually ask Yoshida for CC ranked to get NEW stuff. I mean they release new gear and mounts every damn major patch and sometimes sub patches, they can surely offer a fraction of their produce as new ranked rewards. It is not us who needs or is supposed to give, but the devs.
I'm not asking for that new stuff to be Top 100 exclusively limited btw but for Ranked to have an actual Ranked currency that isn't Trophy Crystals, to encourage Ranked participation in ALL tiers.
Feast's failure was not the Top 100 rewards existing, it was a combination of no incentive to play Casual or low-level ranked whatsoever (i.e. no reasonable tier rewards) over Frontlines, a gamemode that was essentially WOW arena deathmatch with a bounty mechanic and forced roles (1-of-each), which made playing Healer extremely stressful with how it was designed and Tank frustrating outside of ranks where people could capitalise on their playmaking. It was gameplay that was difficult to pick up and actually feel like you are successful, which feeds into the negativity loop.
Nah its one of the reasons, People would win trade to reach top 100 and once they got the FOMO reward they would quit.. not only that you can still stack CC matches which is REALLY bad for pvps health. im all for ranked getting stuff but it CANNOT be glams/mounts/minions because history will repeat itself. instead of introducing rank exclusive FOMO rewards why not just make ranked give more EXP to the battle pass and update the battle pass more regularly? pretty simple fix honestly.
When someone asks: "This is cool, how can I get this?" you should be able to tell them: "If you become good at X, you can have this too." You should never have to tell someone: "Sry kid, that can no longer be achieved".
