Has the Community Team been following our discussions and our requests on the Forums? Because it feels like they ignore half the things we ask for and implement stuff that's fluff or just a band-aid to a bigger problem, and I've seen the pattern over the years both with jobs and with content. Honestly, the English Forums are hardly ever moderated, how can you believe they are paying attention to English Language Requests? The Japanese Requests are Heard, Reddit Requests are Heard, even their Live Stream Requests are Heard. Just the Official English Language forums tend to be ignored, and odds are who ever is tasked to follow them seems to not really pay much attention, otherwise the LGBTQAI+ bashing threads wouldn't be allowed.

I mean if people want feedback that has meaning, the best system I can think of is that people pick out community leaders and we just make a list of questions / concerns once a month. Present the information cleanly and it will make the job a ton easier. Right now we often end up with about dozens of threads that all go running off in their own directions. It's kind of hard to find anything of worth in all of it.

This is another issue. Time and Again people keep saying to keep issues contained in megathreads but hardly anyone listens to that.

I've heard a similar urban legend from the JP side that they only listen to western feedback. So if both sides have the same urban legend, it kinda goes to show that they don't listen to anyone.

We're being misconstrued and misunderstood.

-Explaining to your dev that you want more engagement out of general combat gameplay, only to be taken as "you want more difficulty, go play ultimate"

-Explaining to your dev that healer actions are boring because you get the same 2 button dps from 1-90 and not that much healing is actually required in general content, only to be taken as "We'll just increase the need the heal more next xpac"

-Asking your dev for the unique hairstyles for hrothgar/viera that the devs themselves they were gonna work on and deliver, only to receive a very small batch of hair that already existed and is not even implemented well

-Explaining to your dev that certain skills could be reworked and addressing button bloat, only for them to take it as "let's just delete it all. That will solve the problem"

The list goes on really. The feedback is heard but there are such giant leaps on how it's understood or addressed that you start asking yourself if it's done on purpose or is there truly no one in SE who can properly translate the context and intent of the feedbacks.

The forums are mostly full of veteran players. Obviously, it's not good for business to listen to veteran players too much because the experience of the majority (casual and new players) is important. We were told that they listen to veteran players more than they should already.

They saw the feedback to change jobs to be like Heavensward, such as Dark Knight, but said they are not going in that direction and want to make the jobs as accessible as they got them in Shadowbringers.

If you mean Criterion dungeons as an example, it's because development takes a lot of time and they can't give you 20 of them without sacrificing casual content, which is important for people who don't do challenging content. They are employing more people but it takes time to train them and while that happens, people quit their jobs or switch to work on a different game.

When a localization issue is reported in the localization forum, it's usually silently fixed in the next patch. There are all of the accepted bug reports too https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...-Accepted-Bugs

They listened to the requests for male viera and female hrothgar. They adjusted the nier raids because it made some people sick. Occasionally random features that were requested got put in but nobody remembers these requests because they are hidden behind months of useless troll posts. Jobs have always been adjusted when they have really needed it over time, but the feedback for these probably comes from all directions.

Meanwhile healers…..yeah this is a blatant lie sorry. When you tell an entire role to fuck off and play ultimate if you want said role to be engaging there’s an issue. When hrothgar players waited patiently for 3 years because they were promised race exclusive hairstyles and instead get 6 horrible hairstyles that cut off their ears. I’m sorry. They clearly don’t listen. And instead of apologize, that laugh about it, on stream.
