Stop buying things that aren't account wide. Problem solved.

All of this stuff should really be account based except the consumables. There's no acceptable excuse for character locking this stuff. And before anyone comes in and tries to educate me on economics, I'm well aware of the business case - though I think account locking with a lower price tier for single character versions has a better business case. Regardless, the business case is not an acceptable excuse for the anti-consumer pricing and usage limitations imposed on MogStation items.
Macros are saved client side, after all. All what was done was adding an extra macro file that is shared by all characters.
Ownership of items, on the other hand, is saved by server side
And except event items that was not account wide during the event
But as it is in most MMOs, events items shouldn't end in Mogstation but be available at least the next year if notevery years.
It already is a problem it ends in mogstation, they at least need to be account wide.
This game looks more and more designed to fit the chinese market :s
I get the feeling that whoever is responsible for their database servers is a gigantic tightwad and is like "NO, WE CAN'T SPEND MONEY ON A BETTER BACKEND!!" at every turn.
And that's the polar opposite of how it should be: the database is the very LAST place you want to skimp when it comes to developing an MMO...
enh...
I would rather have someone who is fanatical about protecting the database against being overstressed than someone who takes a more laissez faire approach. The protective admin will preside over a system which is reliable and performs well, the other will constantly be in meetings to discuss failures of the system or poor performance. Which would you prefer?
It's more that the database and associated systems sound like they're extremely poorly designed that's the issue.
I believe it was said that the system uploads the entirety of every character's database every 15 seconds or something, which is why there are so many issues about not letting the database get too large.
