All of it is beautiful, and so for me, this actually really comes down in large part to the music. I absolutely love the calming song of Raincatcher Gully, and pretty much all the Thanalan areas. Which brings me to a question I will pose to everyone else:

The real trick with with songs is knowing when to stop singing. If you just let your MP deplete to zero, you've probably cut your damage output by more than you needed to.
Also, if you have black mages and summoners in your party, try playing Foe's Requiem when people are trying to go all out. That song doesn't cut your own damage output, plus boosts the damage output of the mages. Just remember to time it right.

After months of planning and tons of proof reads, I'm ready to share the back stories for my characters, Astella and Buster. What was originally planned to be short bio's turned into something bigger. I didn't write it in a full, detailed story format, which would've probably tripled the story lengths. I used a lot of transition words, so my apologies to hard core book readers xD I will probably switch to that style when I delve into their parent's story.
Thanks to my love for Stellie, I do intend to continue writing stories to fill out her family's lore. I plan to post this all to her and her brother's blog pages, and will include pics and such.

I was so blown away at turning in a guild class quest item and then having the npc actually look at it in a cutscene, I didn't know what to do with myself. The personalities of the Guildmasters are brilliantly done and I look forward to turning in my next items as I level my crafts. Just the way things are carried through in this game makes it so much more realistic. Like having things visually be there when you are looking for them in a quest. I am enjoying arcanist the most without saying why spoilers.

As for my name, it's half on a whim and half use the name before. The first name Rosetta, is a name I use often in game where you create a main female lead or a female lead requires a name. Went the game does let me use seven letters I'll use Rose. The last name Rouge was just on a whim to make my name roll of the tong and follow the red-pink theme.
As for a back story, I didn't really have a very involved one. Now because I created an alt I have a deeper back story for Rosetta. In short in kinda goes like this: When Rosetta was young she was found severely injured by the Rouge family whom then nursed her back to health. After Rosetta had recovered the Rouge family tried to find her Miqo'te tribe but were unable to as Rosetta could not remember her tribe. Rosetta was the name given to her by the Rouge family as she couldn't remember her name either. Doctors said this was likely from trauma of the injuries she had. A year after Rosetta was found, the Rouge family officially adopted Rosetta. Rosetta grew up along side her younger sister Scarlett. At the age of eighteen Rosetta went out to become an adventurer, dispite the pleads she received from Scarlett to stay. Five years ago Rosetta was lost in the calamity, but Scarlett wouldn't believe it. A little over five years Scarlett trained in martial and magical combat. On her twentieth birthday, Scarlett set out to be an adventurer to find her beloved sister. This is a Tale of two sisters who a distend to never meet again, but will always know their sister is out there somewhere. -

Name and backstory origins huh? My favorite things about making characters!
Talis's name is actually a collection of different things, a little different than my usual naming methods. I read the Keepers of the Moon name conventions and found that the females keep both their own name and the name of their matriarchs and whatnot. Since the Miqo'te came from overseas if I remember correctly, I wanted her name to be both mystical and ocean-related. "Talis" is came about just by chopping the "man" from talisman, and "Nenmyr" is a combination of "nen," which if anyone has played Dungeon Fighter Online it's basically a sort of spiritual energy, while "myr" is my stylized take on words that mean "sea" or "ocean" in many languages.
The backstory still needs some work, but the main theme is that Talis became slightly unhinged in her fervor for seeing Hydaelyn at peace. After the Calamity, her thoughts went thus: Why try to protect a world through peace and kindness when its enemies won't do the same?
Complete destruction was her revelation, so she turned to developing her natural capacity for aetheric manipulation and started on an isolated path toward leaving Eorzea's enemies, and anyone sympathizing with them, floundering in a roaring inferno or trapped in frozen tombs. -

Concering my character's name... Well, the first time I used the name 'Coris' was in 2008. But actually I tend to create a character first and then think of a name that fits.
Her surname is btw a name of a male character from a book /cough (A shapeshifter that transforms into a rat xD) -

Kerensky comes from BattleTech universe better known as Mech Warrior. He's the great leader and founder of 20 Clans who left known space to preserve a better future. Though those clans returned to their old homeland just to wage war and retake it for themselves. I just liked the sound of the name.
Sometimes I'll also use the name "Virtuso" which is latin for a musician. Which I felt really good for me since I'm madly in love with classic orchestra. Sometimes when creating a female character I name it "Virtisa". The added "a" simply is based on the Spanish language where "o" is switched with "a" to signify a female correlation. -

If we're gonna talk about names and stuff, mine is pretty simple. I chose my character to be part of the Raptor clan, hence the R before the ' in her forename.
The rest is inherited from her great grandmother. Her last name is inherited from her father, who was a Highlander.
As for her origins, born and raised in Ala Migho until it was invaded (parents were killed during the invasion),
fled to the black shroud and was taken up and raised by the Coeurlclaw gang until she turned 16 and left to find a new home in Gridania. :3 -

"Moon beams and crystal dreams" is a line I came up with when I was a kid and enjoyed writing songs. That line is the only one I remember from a lullaby I wrote.
As a teenager, I was having trouble coming up with a unique name for an email address. All the fantastical names I came up with off the top of my head were taken, unless I wanted to a random number to the end, which I didn't. Brilliant plan B: go with an acronym. As soon as I came up with that plan, the old lullaby line popped into my head. Being a "cool" teenager, I went with "n" for "and", and thus mbncd was born.
A few years later, full "real" names became big things on websites and I didn't want to give that information to everyone (this was before the days of FaceBook, when people actually cared about personal information staying private) so I decided I needed an alias. I remembered the line that had inspired my main nick and took the last two words from it. Thus, Crystal Dreams became my permanent online alias whenever I couldn't use mbncd.
All of that was a long time ago, though some people still think that Crystal Dreams is a reference to the "the crystal dreams" line in the FFXIV prophecy/advertising/etc. It was mine first ;P -

My online handle Wolfwood Belmir is a combo of the name Wolfwood that I took from Trigun when I was back in highschool (a lifetime ago now O_o) and it sorta stuck as my online name since I used it everywhere and I responded to it more then my actual name >_>...
Now it doesn't even remind me of the character its from and I just see it as my other name :P
Belmir is a combo of two things and a name I made up after Wolfwood on its own was taken everywhere.
Bel comes from a series of books by David Eddings (not devil survivor :P) but I won't go into detail on the slight chance someone is cool enough to get its meaning on their own :P
Mir is from my all time favourite game character from Ar Tonelico 1 + 2 (although she goes by a different name for most of the second one).

I really love the concept and it seems like such a cool name for fantasy or even some sci-fi games. (used it in Persona 3 portable with the female character)
