The reality is you are right people will defend the game since many have differing views and for microtransactions to work they do not need a large percentage of the player base to take part.

I mean if SE cash shop the hill on which people wish to die on so be it. In the end though SE has a rather modest cash shop that surprisingly tame when you compare them to other moms and competitively priced. As you mentioned it could be so much worse. Sure it could be better but expecting them to stop using the cash shop for mounts, dyes, cosmetic items is not going to happen unless they do something that will cause a mass exodus of the game.

It seems to me that you have no common sense. Every current day MMO has a cash shop. No one is "shilling for SE" when the simple fact is that EVERYTHING on the Mog Station is completely optional. None of it is predatorial. There's nothing anyone NEEDS from the Mog Station. It's all optional stuff that doesn't impact character stats, gameplay, or overall enjoyment factor. None of it. In fact, the Mog Station isn't even directly tied into the game. You can't open a menu in XIV and access the Mog Station through it. This is literally the most easy going and non-invasive cash shop I've seen in an MMO. Calm the calamity that is your mammeries

He was not given a reason for the ban. They used a generic view forum guideline.

We dont oppose SE using a cash shop. However, if you have played the game for more than a few years, you would have seen that the cash shop has become increasingly egregious. A subscription game should be held to a higher standard, even their biggest competitor`s cash shop isnt as bad as this.

It might be better to be overly critical to prevent SE from considering taking further steps in expanding Cash Shop practices. Give an inch of tolerance and they usually will take a mile. Perhaps not at once, but little by little. Even if it's all useless criticism and they never were going to expand anyway, it's a worthy security measure to let developpers know where you stand.

Unless you actually like the existence of Cash Shop and want to expand it, shilling for SE just because you're a fanboy is silly and not in your best interest I'd say.

"False pretenses". No. The forum mods here actually legitimately ban for quite a few things, and your boyfriend must have done one of them. Trust me. I know. I highly doubt he was silenced for his opinion on the spriggan mount.

Here's the thing. You DID pay for the product. These are EXTRA items added after the fact, made by a completely seperate team, made specifically for the MOGSTATION. This Spriggan mount would not exist otherwise. No matter how much you or others may think it was ripped out of the event to sell for premium. It is simply not true.

You can get banned on these forums for quite a lot unfortunately. The mods never seem to be consistent though so take it as you will.

Yep, people here would probably be surprised just how far they will go, and just how broad the actual ToS, and forum guidelines actually are interpreted. Either way, highly doubtful they would have been banned for their opinion on the spriggan mount. No way.

Out of curiosity, I had a look at his previous posts.
There were a few swear words, perhaps that could be it, but I didn't notice anything else.
Well, anything but the fact that every post made over the past few years was complaining about items being on mogstation. Carbuncle mounts and an emote... so not seasonal stuff.
You don't oppose SE using a cash shop, except when it has items you (or he) personally want, it seems.

They will delete an entire post if it has a swear word they deem "profanity". It is likely that whatever post they got hit with is deleted.

As in, a package that is partial, or incomplete.

A functional incomplete package is not the same as a complete package. All it takes for a package to be incomplete is a single locked item that cannot be aquired through in-game means.

--You don't buy patches updates in an MMO. You buy the ability to play the game.

--So literally, you just hate Premium Cash Shop. Even if it doesn't effect the game, you see something you want, you just think it should be free, and games shouldn't be allowed to sell side stuff That is optional, and that helps keep a game running.
You see optional side stuff that you can buy, then it means the game is Incomplete.
