There is a very easy way to test your theory right now. Go into your bazaar and multiply all your selling prices by 10. See if that helps you sell those items. If you want to try the other way around ? Just go to McDonald, order a big mac, hand over 25$ and tell them to keep the money. Do it a couple times to see if it sits right with you and your wallet.

If that doesnt change your mind, well go ahead and rage quit. In fact, i think you're describing your own behavior in that quote. You are the kind of person that wont be adjusting its prices and probably buying at 1.0 price too.

If I have 999,999,999 gil now and decide to buy something for 30mil (double melded obelisk as an example), I would only be spending about 3% of my gil. When 2.0 comes around and my max gil is reduced to 99,999,999 and I still see the same item selling for 30mil, I just won't bite because I'll be losing 30% of my income. That said, if I had a double melded obelisk in 2.0 I would probably sell it around 5-10mil because some fool might think of it as a steal and splurge not realizing he lost 5-10% of his income. Moral of the story? Adapt or be prepared of people taking advantage of your stupidity.

Anyone attempting to sell things at the higher rates they are now will be sitting on a lot of unsold items. If they seriously want to sell their items, they're going to have to bring them down to realistic prices.

Some prices will be higher then 1/10 some will be lower but nobody can say how the new market gonna be cause we don't know shit about the game. You need so many facts to even think about realistic suggestions that it will take at least till we all have played the beta, and it gonna be only suggestions....

It's even possible that stuff will cost less cause its easier to gather/craft them or cause there is a better market/AH system and way more ppl gonna sell stuff. anything that requires a HQ part to make will continue to be high priced unless they make HQ's hell of alot easier to make, anything relic will continue to be high priced.

i bet alot of that gil were losing is RMT money so instead of banning the mass numbers they just remove the gil this time.

only way to cure they MW/ah or whatever, SE would have to force prices in the wards like this ore is 1000gil a piece no more no less, this sword is 10k no more no less. basicly treat everything like a NPC.

Its not a lie, it is a simple fact. Blame the stupidity of the people which will buy Stuff in 2.0 regardless of the 1/10 Ratio. If someone goes to buy something in 2.0 for 10 Mil which is 20 Mil now, then it is the buyers loss and not the Sellers fault. The Seller was smart and just made use of the stupidity of certain people.

If we can gather iron ore in ARR like sand on a beach, the price would be much lower than 1/10. If it more like Mithryl ore, it would be higher. It is not simple a 1/10 math, you need to think about droprate, too. Everything change. Inclusive the market prices.

And the sellers are not the only one who are greedy. Buyers are greedy and are looking for the cheapest price.

the lowest shield is level 5 (the achievement shield don't count) and it cost 5500 gil from NPC (550 gil in ARR)

It's not just our money, the rate at which gil enters the economy will be cut to 1/10 as well. In time, it'll balance out

Prices changes anyway drastically, with or without the 1/10 stuff.
I say the wood market would be very interesting with ARR (furnitures for the housing)

It all depends on the first person who put whatever into the market wards.

What should be done is this.

SE makes it that the maximum price you put into the MW is the same price you get for selling it to a vendor.

That way you have the same buying power, and not some jerk who gets to put the first price in the Market wards.
