The people doing savage aren't even 1/100th of the community. Do you expect literally everyone to be perfect? :p

If you are a dps and dont even crack the 4k mark then you are clearly not ready for savage, you'll be a massive liability on your party and the dps check will probably not be met because of you. That's just straight up how it is. 4k dps is low even for tanks.
The rest of those are the typical PF clownery, could always be someone seriously trying to get a decent group together or could be someone just looking for easy carries.
No.
They have been converted. Now they all enjoy Cat girls too.
This is normal for extremes and savages, unless they're doing practice runs. Now if people are doing it on the normal modes they're just an asshole looking for a carry.
It's not surprising, most of the extremes and savages people can be elitist tryhards.
Those PFs have been here since ARR and will be here till the heat death of the universe (or ff14's end of service - whichever comes first). If you weren't looking for negative things to blame on WoW players, you would never have noticed a difference :P
Nah this has always been a thing. I remember it as early as 'skip soar or disband', which practically littered every PF entry for Zurvan, be it farm, clear or otherwise. In fact it used to be so bad where certain classes would be omitted from being able to participate in the Party Finder, or would be knocked from the party outright.
It's just more apparent now with the growing surge of players and the newly released raid tier. You'll find it'll generally simmer down as the weeks go by and people are more geared - Giving that leeway.
In this regard I can say in some spheres this community is just no different from WoW.
I haven't seen any PF's like that at all on aether. That said, anyone requiring a dps amount in their description is absolutely reportable. Just report them and move on. Unlike WoW, this game actually still has GM's that respond pretty quickly and deal with those situations really fast. Utilize the report feature, it actually works in this game unlike WoW.
If I roll my eyes any harder they'll split off and make their own way to the moon
Those type of PF's have been in the game since as long as Party Finder has been a thing.
it's almost as if this is just an MMO thing.
it's also almost as if once one MMO starts falling apart, they move to another. i came from wow, been playing since closed beta (2013), and i'm not the only one. before then, i came from FF11, and EQ. it's all the same. and like countless other's have said, just make your own party.
Some people really need to understand this is a GAME and not some professional job.
I didn't know this could be reported. I have my own views on using parsers / meters. Should these people be reported or is it more of a "follow your heart" kind of deal? If leaving those people alone causes more harm than good or if reporting them does just as much damage.
Two things can happen :
1. People advertise such requirement in PF description, only like minded people join, you don't join, nobody has wasted their time.
2. People don't advertise the requirement, people that do no meet said requirements join, only to end up being silently kicked as soon as their performance is apparent. The PF's time was wasted. The lower performing player's time was wasted, everyone loses.
Looks like a lot of people in here just want to be silently kicked from Party Finders.
Your mom has taken over lol get rekt buddy
I was hoping to try and learn savage this weekend, since I really love the weapons this time around, but if the party finder is going to be this intense I may just be out of luck. I've never cleared a savage tier before and since I am not an incredible player I am going to need some patient people. I did check the PF yesterday and someone was requiring an ilvl of 575 for a learning party, which I found odd since unless you have already completed savage you can't get an ilvl that high I don't think.
Skip soar or disband
It is not the raider mentality. The point is, if you give the players the choice whether they can achieve something in an efficient way or a way which makes fun then they will almost always choose the efficient way and optimize the fun out of the game. And this is the reason why the game devs must pay attention that the efficient way to play a game makes also fun. If not, then the players will first choose the efficient way which is not fun and then stop playing the game because it is not fun at all. :)
The WoW devs fail badly at this point and as a player you have to choose. And the results of it you can see on websites like raider.io etc. Those websites increase the efficiency to play harder content because you can sort out many players.
Cheers
I seen a 580 min ilvl yesterday for a shb ex, i think it was dancing plague. Some make sense others don't. Haven't really seen anything out of place in pf, just the usual nonsense.
Honestly, just ignore them, if that's how they setup their PF, you can either make your own PF and find one that isn't as strict as those. There are always going to be people that micro that much and if you don't enjoy it it's better to just ignore it and find likeminded players you can have fun playing with.
Skip Soar or Disband rises from the ashes.
someone already answered the ilvl remark, so i wont get into that, but just make your own PF. if the others are a concern, make a PF asking for a chill / casual learning experience. if someone gets an attitude or starts something, you can kick, replace and move on. there are other casual ppl looking to learn who would join your PF. aside from that, to be honest i suggest learning current extremes before you jump into savage with no prior experience.
This thread has done a really job at making sure I stay out of high end content. Im one person who took the time to post it. Crap like this is what I tried to get away from in WoW. Guess I will just work on jobs to 90 and omnicrafting.
This is reminding me of a group in group finder in WoW I saw once that advertised
"BAD players only! Don't know mechanics and come unprepared. DPS must be bad or kick."
I joined the group, heh.
...We one shotted everything.
We've been here since ARR thanks.
I don't like this Moniker of "WoW crowd"
You do realise a large majority of the playerbase can consider themselves former WoW players with various points of jump off from WoW to here?
Even most of the remaining 1.0 players are from WoW as well.
Most of the streaming personalities you watch before Asmongold and Rich came over, also originally played WoW...
YoshiP played WoW.
Stop looking for a straw man for a bad experience, there have been bad attitude players long before they exodus, they will be here long after. It's just the community loves to rose tinted glasses and ignore it's a problem and has been since forever.
I've seen "know fight or kick" PF groups first day of release many times over.
It's nothing new.
Both "groups" are making this game not fun to play...
If you don't make mistakes and just want a clear, why would you want to play with players who make lots of mistakes and don't know their job?
If you are the first type of player, these "toxic" groups (aka frustrated players tired of wiping because of poor quality teammates) are great for getting the clear. I got many nearly flawless unreal runs by joining them.
If you are the second kind of player and you feel like you're being called out, it means the pf description did its job by keeping you out. Make your own relaxed practice party and don't take it so personally that you're not playing up to a random person's standards.
I bet they came from SWtOR too!
I don't see too much of a difference. It was like that in 2014, and it's like that now too.
The PF has always looked like that. I understand that WoW players make for easy scapegoats though, especially for the FF XIV community, where they have an "us vs them" mentality. You'd be amazed by how many WoW players sing their praises about FF XIV. Also, if it wasn't for WoW, FF XIV as we know it probably wouldn't exist in the first place. You're welcome.
This feels like nothing more than you looking for a reason to crap on players that you have a preconceived prejudice toward.
Just because you feel there's a stigma around a player playing a different game than you doesn't give you the right to belittle them.
Don't be a jerk toward the new players coming in.
Edit: I'm willing to bet that this kind of stuff has always been there. You just now have someone else to blame it on other than your own "perfect" community. Everyone in 14 seems to think their community is so nice and positive and helpful and chatty and warm and welcoming.. But you're not. Not really.
The only reason you feel this way is because everyone bands together to defend themselves against people who say otherwise. It's the mob mentality of wanting to belong and feel solidarity.
You want to believe you're good people, but you're pretty quick to jump down the throats of anyone who calls you out on it. The 14 community at large is no different than the WoW players you're so quick to hate on.
